Still injured? In Carbo's doghouse with Sammy? In Paris with Brezer? With Dandenault giving it away on every pass? :hlogo:
-
Ninimaa was caught in the numbers game. He had to give up his spot to the returning Bouillon. Since then the Habs have gone into a swoon. Since Ninimaa has returned the Habs are winning. SO he makes one or two dumb mistakes that lead to goals. However he has a big body presence and his offensive skills are underrated. Big mistake benching him for the likes Bouillon and Dandenault.
-
How bout we nickname him Plekanec the mechanic? Anyways he is not a great passer but if Koivu had anything like the precision of the mechanic's shot, Koivu would be a superstar.
-
Why doesn't he play more? Leads all Canadiens blueliners in even strength scoring. Same number of even strength points as Zdeno Chara and Dion Phaneuf to name just a couple. If Komo played the power play and got 25 or 26 minutes per game, he would be in the top 5 or 10 in defenseman scoring league wide and an All Star. If there were some great defensemen ahead of him on the roster, I might understand. But Bouillon? :?-
C'mon Guy, wake up and smell the coffee.
Im beginning to think your right. All I saw in the first period was Dandenault and Bouillon chasing the Bruins behind their own net. Carbo needs a defenceman coach.
-
Thank
Thank God it finally dawned on Carbo to split up the dynamic duo of Bouillon and Dandenault.

His name is already Big ####, or any synonym, like Bazookas, Hooters, Mellons ... yah know Maybe Bazookas is the best because he's got a howitzer of a shot.
His little bro is Lil' ####, haven't found a good synonym for him yet though ...
I guess it'll be synonmous to the Rocket and the pocket rocket maybe the DD #### and the B ####
-
can we nickname Kotsi ####? it forms part of his name? SO #### was pretty good tonight. yuk yuk yuk
If anyone finds a link to the Boullion Vs Tucker fight, I'd like to see it ... classics, always.no comparison to the Rivet Marchment fight of a few years ago. That was a doozer

Thank God you're not Bob Gainey. He builds from within, always has. Makes bad, overpayed free agent signings, yes (Audette, Turgeon, for example), but builds a perennial winner. We may not be much better than Toronto this year but the difference between our prospects and theirs is night and day and gets bigger every year.
Souray doesn't fit in LA or Anaheim. They've already locked up their top 2 offensive D men, and are not going to outbid other teams and pay 5 million for a number three. Souray's only going to a team where he's the big gun on the PP, otherwise what is the point in paying him?
'Course I encourage you to slap Samsonov if you get the chance. And if Markov goes to Pittsburgh I'd slap Bob myslef, only I'll be too busy crying.
Well this building within seems to be taking forever. Anyways Don Cherry said tonight that rumour has it Souray is heading to LA.
You build with a goalie by the way. Like Gainey had in Belfour in Dallas. Belfour did not come from within, but from the Hawks.I dont think anyone with an iota of hockey knowledge didn't know Luongo was a franchise player. I think we could have given up more then a Bertuzzi to get him. Luongo a hometown player by the way.
I would prefer slapping Carbo silly. Sammy was screwed from the start but his attitude in the last month has sucked.
The way Russians have been treated this year in Montreal you think Markov would want to come back?
wow... an 'r' rated response (lots of violence...) parental guidance is recommended...GO :hlogo: GO!
slapping rarely breaks bones and carbo used to play so he could take a punch. Anyways as I said at this time of year, a sense of humour is lacking
-
Don't we have enough problems without making them up?
I guess at this point in the season we have lost our sense of humour
-
What I would do if I was Bob Gainey is slap my head for not trading for Luongo. Then slap it harder for not trading Souray away when he signs with LA. Then slap it even harder when Markov signs with Pittsburgh. Then slap Samsonov for being a bust and then punch Carbo for screwing up ...then retire I guess...
-
The fact is, coach's put little stock in plus minus numbers when evaluating players...
Coach's and manager's prefer to look at a lot more factors when evaluating players than whether a guy is a -5 or +5 when the season is done!
That is a convenient stat that the media tends to over emphasize. Far too often they are misleading numbers - like you pointed out in this post.
Thanks gros bill, but I think maybe someone like Perezhogin is underestimated to what he brings to the rink. Sinc he does not score much Perez should be evaluated using other things like +- . I think the scoring will come,
-
damn tough loss, Aebischer inconsistent as always, he plays like Grant Fuhr only problem the habs aint the Oilers of the 80's lol
-
Perezhogin has great legs. He has to get his offensive game together. His shot must improve. he reminds me a bit of Bob Gainey in his early years. Gainey was a raw talent that had to develop shooting and passing skills. Perez doesn not have Gainey's physical presence but he has better offensive skills that will mature with time. Don forget his +- which suggest opposing players dont like to play against him. That is a little like Gainey. Let us not forget it was his check that forced Keith Primeau to retire. I am sure we are all frustrated with all the missed opportunities this year and the silly penalties. However, I think we all know that can change over time.
-
Should have, would have, could have...
We don't know if Samsonov has been to see the captain, the coach, the GM about all this. Maybe this is his last resort, talking to the media. Maybe not.
But I think this is a very poor option as a last resort, if it is indeed so. The issue isn't whether he should have been used here or there or with this line or that line. He sounded off while we are still in the playoff hunt. More media circus at a time when we've just been through a media farce. P*ss-poor timing. I understand he's frustrated - it's not like he wanted to come here and tank it. But even if he had exhausted all his other sources of venting, he shouldn't have come out with it to this wolf-pack media.
What Carbo has/hasn't done with him should be a seperate thread.
And I said he should be benched but silencing critics is pretty dumb I think. It is clear Carbo has blown it with many players this year. Sammy going to the media is not gonna make the players play any worse. He probably wont play again this year. Games are decided on the ice. We are discussing why we are in such dire straits. This is not a fascist state or an empire Tokyo.
-
For me it would be better to get a high draft choice then finish 8th and get clobbered in 5 or 6 in the first round
-
I have sided with Sammy most of the year. Frankly though the last 20 games Sammy has gone even more downhill. He should be benched now.
It is quite clear Carbo prefers French Canadians to other players. However, Sammy has never really put it together this year. I think if he had produced even slightly, it would have been hard to move him out of the line-up. I thought when he joined Bonk and Johnson his play was very improved and then suddenly he was benched again by Carbo.
Carbo has bombed out in the way he handled Sammy. He never played him on the powerplay virtually all year. He had him in the doghouse after 4 games at the start of the year. A coach can screw a player and Carbo has done that.
As other people have said good luck getting another free agent to come and play here. Especially another Russian, wonder where Markov is going next year?
-
Don't think dryden would do very well with this day and age
jeepers the man lost only 50 games his whole career- he can play in any era especially this bloated one star per team era- when Dryden beat Boston they had the likes of Orr Espo Hodge Bucyk Stanfield Mackenzie, when he beat the hawks they had Bobby and Dennis Hull Stan Mikita etc etc
-
let's try Ken Dryden or Patrick Roy in nets?
-
Can we trade the to 1st rounder 2 picks for a superstar? Brad Richards? Marian Gaborik? Marty Turco?
-
I think we should rename this thread the pussies of winter
-
Goaltending was gruesome- no life whatsoever, you almost feel some players have been doing it with mirrors in the past like Dandenault Bouillon,Begin, Sammy Kovy. So much for the french russian feud, they both suck equally.
Where is Alexander Perezhogin?
