  1. I gathered the salary data and made a table. I think it's interesting to see how some players got major salary cuts and others got big raises (Ryder's pay went up 65%!) Enjoy!
  2. Any news on Koivu? How's he doing with that flu? Hopefully he'll be back on saturday... Go habs go! Let's see more of that Murray-Kostitsyn-Higgins! I predict 4-2 Habs. Optimistic? Perhaps. Impossible? Nothing's impossible for the Montreal Canadiens. :ghg: [Edited on 2005/12/15 by Cataclaw]
  3. Wow what a game. I'm thrilled that the rooks got some play time. Kostitsyn with the first goal was great. That goal put a smile on my face for the rest of the game. Yotes were very weak tonight, I admit, but we still played well. With special-K coming back (possibly) on thursday, there are lots of reasons to be optimistic.
  4. What's up with Koivu? Will he be back tommorow? This day-to-day business has been going on for several days now. I know, i know, he needs to heal, he needs to be okay, and yes, i agree. I'd rather have Koivu back later than sooner and not risk losing him for the whole season. Still.. having the Captain back might help morale.
  5. I have faith. We were a little rusty after a week's rest. They'll come back strong in the second. I predict two goals for habs and one for ducks in the second.
  6. I for one like Ribeiro, despite his shortcomings. Maybe it's because i'm portuguese, dunno.
  7. To realize just how different Québec is, you need only turn to American and "rest of Canadian" television. Then watch a Québec show. The differences are rather startling. Still, I maintain that despite these differences, separation is not the answer. The inuits are even more radically different than Québecers and they don't seek independence. Anyway.. there are a gazillion arguments on both sides of the coin and i don't feel like getting dragged into this. Last time i debated the issue on another forum, the thread went on to 45 pages! My view? No to separation. Still, If ever it happens, ho hum, i'll live. I'm not leaving the best city on earth (Montreal) just for some silly change of nationhood! :can: and :que: equally in my books but :hlogo: above all else [Edited on 2005/12/3 by Cataclaw]
  8. Team Québec? Stupid. Québec a distinct society? Yes. (more or less) Is that a reason to separate? No. De-centralizing federal gov't thereby granting more power to provinces? Yes. :can::que:
  9. Whew, just got back from my buddy's place. Watched the game with some friends. We were pretty damn disapointed with the outcome. Oh well. Here are my thoughts: PRO: Ryder's line had great chemistry tonight, imho. We played very well defensively. CON: Claude, claude, claude, what are you doing! People that stood out for me: Dagenais - B-: for doing his job, sitting in front of the net and taking the shot. Ryder - B+ : i thought he was quite solid tonight Rivet - A :maybe it's me, but lately he's been rock solid. not just playing well defensively, but often coming up and stirring up some offense. great sense of what's going on around him. Bonk - C-: i wasn't impressed tonight... Souray - C+: seems to be struggling imho following his return. Kostitsyn - N/A: did he even play? oh that's right, he had a few minutes in the first period...
  10. Call me optimistic, but i predict a pretty close game, something like 3-4 OT loss or perhaps even a 4-3 OT win. :hlogo: I think they'll do well under pressure. Plus someone's got to stand up to the sens and it sure won't be the St-Louis Blues
