  1. samsonov will play tomorrow I'm sure. it's time for him to shine. I'm sure he'll tearing the boards and maybe even score a goal.

if he dont show help with the best game of his life, then he really dont have any pride, he really got somthing to prove..i hope he starts earning some of that pay check, i want to see he and ryder play to getter.

  2. Samsonov will help only if he plays with a finisher. He is not a finisher, and arguably has never been a finisher.

If he plays with Koivu we absolutely need a big forward driving to the net. The practise line as listed on TSN looked very, very interesting to me: Samsonov, Bonk and Latendresse. Bonk is an excellent passer and extremely responible defensively. Latendresse can keep his game very simple with these two: crash the net, crash the net, hammer along the boards, crash the net. Because Bonk can't be 100% ignored offensively and skates well; and if Latendresse skates hard and plays a more in-your-face game drawing a lot of attention; I think this will free a lot of room for Samsonov to wheel and deal, much like he did with the Bru*ns, constantly flying in from the blue line, ragging the puck, carrying it behind the net and exploding out the other side with other players streaming in.

This could also finally let us play Koivu and Kovalev together, but with who I have no idea (Pleckanec? Can he play wing?). That doesn't look like a well-balanced line, again with no finisher, unless Pleks is willing to take on that role. I'd make sure Streit and Johnson were back down on the 3rd line with Higgins - it would be good for Higgins to work with those two a while. Perez and Lapierre can combine with Murray/Downey for a high-energy 4th.

Ryder steaming hot dogs in the intermissions. Can he sharpen skates?

let ryder steam hot dogs lol, glad you know nothing about hockey.. put ryder on wavier and i bet you he wont be their the next day... the only thing sammy been exploding out of is the dressing crying, when he sucks it up, he might find his game.the problem is the only finisher we have is ryder but no one can get him the puck because thier loseing the puck behind the net all night and getting push around..for a finish to score you have to set him up.

Ryder has to stop falling in the corners.

As for Sammy, I like this idea. Make it stick. I've been hoping that Big Brother Latendresse (just like big Joe did) would play with Samsonov. Samsonov has set up Lats 2 times already on line changes. Bonk is reborn. We all saw with our own eyes what happened between Sammy and Bonk for chemistry. Awesome!

    Go with it.

BTW: The cool thing that might happen here is that Samsonov gets PISSED and begins to destroy.

AKA: Could all of this be a blessing in disguise? :D

    :hlogo:

well he is the only one in the corners because everyone else is stuck behind the net.

  3. hey i didn't support the samsonov signing. I'm just saying that once you have signed him, in the salary cap area, you have to do whatever is necessary to make it work.

If it was up to me Sykora would've been a habs back when Anaheim was trying to dump him.

let worried about the player we do have, not the ones we could of, should of would of have because they cant help us win.

  4. Rather than SS-Koivu-Ryder, I'd make it SS-Koivu-Higgins. I think they're both left wingers, but SS tends to play circumference rather than wing, and Higgins plays (0,0) rather than wing, so I think it would work. It's just that Ryder hasn't been a useful 5-on-5 player for two seasons, so he should stick on the 4th and be brought in for power plays, where he is streakily useful, and Higgins (who has suddenly shown signs of life) should be the one to stay with Koivu. Latendresse seems to be doing all right with Plekanec and Kovalev, so let's leave that one alone.

    [/quot

right now i dont think we have to many 5 on 5 player? its time for other guys to step up, guys who getting paid all that money, ryder a great guy who scores goals and does it for a good price..he as twice as many goal then sammy who makes almost twice as much, and kovalev well he shows up when he fell like it, wish i had a job that i could work hard when i want and make millions, that just me...i sick of all these superstar and people making excuse for then..i just dont understand how puting one of our best goal score on the four line going to make sammy, kovalev, higgins and who ever play better.lol

  5. If Sammy is staying, i would also like to see him paired with Koivu. Maybe try these lines:

    Samsonov - Koivu - Latendresse

    Higgins - Plekanec - Kovalev

    Perezhogin - Bonk - Johnson

    Streit - Lapierre - Ryder

    Murray, Downey, Begin(IJ)

Can always swap Lats and Ryder at any point.

this is want needs to happen we need a trade, we need a 1-2 centre, i belive with the team we got this is how good we well be, but if we can make a trade for the right guy we can be great, no matter who we put together our lines we well have the same results. we need a one two punch, koivu is great but we still need another centre, i like plekanec and i thing he WELL be good but if we want to be great now then we got to make a trade and i believe we have some young guys we can trade. its time to make a move, we dont have much luck with ufa whating to sign here, so a trade is pretty much the only way to go and to get a good player you got to trade young guys or draft picks, so its time to step up or shut up, WE NEED A TRADE

  6. The difference is that with the chances Ryder has, he should have 30 goals right now. the guy is not a sniper. The only thing he can do is shoot - and usually aims for the crest on the goalies jersey.

there is a reason he is streaky - the odd time he is lucky - the puck goes in.

Everytime Ryder gets hot, i pray that the habs will dump him!!!!

if his lucky i dont care 30G is 30G, he is not a play maker his a shooter that why he get pay and for the most part he does his job, lets worry about the plays who gets paid and cant do their job, he is one of our only player that we can dump because other team want him, we cant even give away alot of our "superstar" right now because they cant do their job, there over paid, and their shit in the locker room. you want to move a player that only makes 2.2m a year as 15G,20A does his job dont complain and keep the playes that dont bring their best game ,over paid and dont want to be there, i hope you dont run your own business, but if you do can i get a job

  7. Now that Samsonov is 'happily back in the fold' it's time for Carbonneau to stop jerking him around and start putting him in a position to succeed. That means, first not trapping him on a useless line with Kovalev for months, despite the obvious lack of chemistry; second, not arbitrarily benching him when he starts playing well; and third, either leaving him with Bonk and Johnson - players with whom he suddenly started playing MUCH better - OR trying him out with the only player on our team other than Bonk who actually makes his linemates better, namely Koivu.

Samsonov has been a consistent and effective offensive NHL player over his entire career. It is in the interest of the organization that he become that player again. If that means putting him with Koivu, then ABSOLUTELY we should be doing that. As I keep saying, you don't develop a winner by giving Mark Streit 20 minutes of ice a game. You DO win, when you get your best players producing like your best players. That's Carbo's job and he'd better start doing it.

you would think making all that money and keeping your job and oh yea winning would be a reason to produce, but thats just me, want do i know.

  8. his doing a good job with the guys he got, we still 4, the problem is we need a big guy to get in front of the net, thet well fix a lot of our problem and a little more leader ship in the room might fix the problem, we have to many guys that are the same type of plays, skating around all night with the puck ,always looking for the pretty pass and stuck behind the net with the puck..time to shake some things up and get a big man

  9. I'm all for seeing Koivu and Sammy together. But i'd rather see Ryder dropped down to the 4th line with Lapierre and Murrey.

sammy so good that no other team wants him, his over paid and dont want to be in montreal, ryder as been runner up for rookie of the year, score 30 G last year and as 15G and 20A this year, only makes 2.2 M a year and his the problem? thats funny.

  10. I second that, although i want to see Sammy-Koivu-Higgens.

Let Ryder rot on the third or fourth line and put Perozhogin back on the third line.

ryder been better then perozhogin, sammy and higgens this year and his the one we should let rot? iam glad you dont run the team. the only thing this team needs is a big man to play the middle, if we get that this team well be unstopable.

  11. thats sounds like it might just work, but i think we still need a big guy to play down the middle and get in front of the net so the guy are free to move around and work the puck. we need someone to draw people to him in front of the net so the other plays can work thier magic..ryder, souray could use there shoot more and the guys with the wheels and moves could do their thing.. we need to make a trade

  12. Hahaha.

Nah, I believe others have quoted themselves before, kind of comes with the territory of being a poster, hehe.

I'm just hoping Ryder gets his game in gear as well.

Yeah, which is why I wrote the bit at the bottom in brackets about him not being THAT bad... ;)

Meh, I was just saying that Ryder's gotta do more than have a good shot to deserve the ice-time he gets.

when was the last time we had a player finish runner up for rookie of the year, score 30 goals the next year. his a good player and for 2.2 m a year his a good deal. i think your asking to much from the guy, he only as 3 years in the nhl and he still learning to be a more all around player. the more time he gets the better he well be, and he seems like he likes playing in montreal which are hard to find. So i think he deserve his ice and i guess the coaches must like want they we from him.

  13. (Sorry I just can't resist on this one...)

Dagenais had a good shot too, but we all know what happened to him. :P

(Okay, so Ryder isnt THAT bad, lol. But his +/- is gawd awful and he hasn't been the dominant player along the boards he can be. Well, he's not working for it like he did when he scored all those goals last season.)

    sorry you cant resist? lol

when did dags score 30 goals, or finish runner up for rookie of the year..and this is ryder third year and he still as 15G which is pretty good for this team. so you might want to pick a different player to compare him to.

  14. where about ?? I'll be in section 423.

I expect samsonov to be back and Ryder to take a seat on this one.

I guess we won't be seeing markov anytime soon with an MCL injury...sucks !!

ryder takes a seat it be a joke, he as the best shot on the team, and he had a point last game and his not playing that bad this year he as 15G and 20A, if anyone should take a seat from the first line its higgins. but you shouldnt be beach higgin just let them play and it well come, have faith.. I think the reason samsonov not really playing is he dont want to be in montreal and there trying to trade him.

  15. ...why Samsonov was scratched for the Pittsburgh game?

I missed the beginning of the coverage, so I didn't really hear the story behind it. But what gives? Sammy had been playing great over the last 3-4 games, I thought. So that's his reward - getting nixed - ?

I suppose we won and that makes Carbo a genius, but really, I don't understand the decision, even with the threat of a more 'physical' game. You're not going to get respect by jerking players around, nor by keeping an unproductive Ryder in the lineup at the expense of a Samsonov who's finally finding his game.

Forgive me if this has already been hashed out.

ryder makes 2 m a year and as 15 G and 20 A and this is only his third season

samsonov makes 3.5 a year as 7 g and 15A and his not happy in montreal but you want to bench ryder makes so much senses

  16. its looks like to me that no matter who kovalev and samsonov plays with they cant get it done.so we spend all our time moving plays from line to line trying to makes these guys play better. i think we should go back to the ryder Koivu higgins line for our top line and leave them their and then make a trade to bring in someone to make our second line better and firer up this team.

  17. Yes...Carbo's seemingly random benchings have me befuddled as well. (Keep Kovelv and Ryder in, pull out Samsonov just as he's finding his game, punish Rivet for working hard, etc.).

Anyway, if it's only a week, I'll count our lucky stars. Phew.

why would he bench ryder? he makes like 2m a year,as 15G ,20A. for want he gets paid i think were getting pretty got bang for our buck, when you look at some of the other playes on our team. ryder is far from the problem on this team.
