  1. Yeh, if it was strictly money it'd be a no-brainer, but you have consider you'd be giving up picks and prospects to obtain those players.

i agree but i like that their contract put us in the window to win with the core we have now and picks and prospects we must wait for 3-5 years and lose that window..

chi whats to dump cash so i think they take SK and a 1st pick for sharp

iam unsure what flo would like but maybe horton for AK, Desharnais, and a pick..

but like i said i like the window and these guys are young still so if i could make it happen, i would go for it..

the more i think about it the more i think we should say F**k this draft year and go hard with these picks to bring in young guy that we can win this year with in this window(sharp, horton, Versteeg ..ect) and sign a bunch of coll guys for the farm team and hope they workout...

  2. Sharp has two years left on a 4-year contract with a $3.9M cap hit.

Horton has 3 years left on a 6-year contract with a $4.0M cap hit.

thats not 2 bad at all plexs 5.5mil and AK 3.25 ( 8.75 mil)or horton and sharp at 7.9

but i think the price for these guys might be to high...

  3. If I were GM, this is what my opening day lineup would be (assuming trades are made like in xbox nhl10)

    Cammalleri Gomez Gionta

    Pouliot Marleau Versteeg

    Moen Lapierre Metropolit

    Pyatt Moore Maxwell

    Markov O'Byrne

    Spacek Subban

    Gill Gorges

    Halak

    Price

    * Let Plekanec walk when he wants $5.5m per and sign Marleau for $6.5 or $7.0m

    * Trade the Kostitsyns and a prospect for Versteeg and Sopel. Hawks get a bit of cap relief and we get a a scoring winger and a seventh defenseman.

    * Buy out Hamrlik or bury him in minors to save cap space needed to sign above moves and RFA's.

I really cant see us sign Marleau for 7 mil and i cant see chi taking the Kostitsyns maybe they take sk and our first pick..

I wonder what it take to get Versteeg and sharp..maybe sK , and 1st pick and 3rd pick...

then trade AK for a pick...

  4. And why is that?

Based on 2010? You are devaluing him after a poor season? He didn't even have that poor of a season in relation

    to his age bracket.

2 seasons ago he was listed on Future Watch as the best prospect in hockey. Goaltenders don't mature until 23-27.

You are devaluing everything he accomplished before 2009/10.

This is how people are fooled into bad trades.

I dont think there is a goalie in the nhl that TB would move Stamkos for .....can u say the same about price or halak.....Goaltenders dont seem like they get much on the trade table...

  5. So what do the Habs get out of this proposal?

Tampa gets cap relief and the possibility of an elite goaltender. The Habs get more cap problems which

would hinder them signing Halak/Plekanec and a project pick for 3-5 years from now?

There is a reason that Yzerman is stalking Price, he thinks he can get him on the cheap. His trade value is

at an all time low. THIS IS HOW Luongo and Jokinen for Parrish and Kvasha happen.

If Milbury asked in 2000 for Bure in return for Luongo/Jokinen it would be just as absurd as Stamkos, yet who would

have won that deal? Milbury made a trade that had a 90% chance to blow up in his face for the 10% chance it may

    break even.

The Habs are not desperate, so why make a desperate deal?

i didnt say make a deal..i said not to..i just putting names out their to match the rumours that are coming out for fun.....man u should relax..my idea is dumb but you think TB would trade Stamkos?

I think price is the real deal but i bet most gms dont, even most habs fans dont so i dont think u going to get the deal u would like.....

but feel free to let me KnoW the deal u would make if u HAD to trade one of the goalies just for FUN...Iam not really worry want Milbury done in 2000..Iam worried about the habs in 2010.

Why? 12 months ago it would have been a 1 time All-Star who has a Calder Cup, World Junior MVP

and CHL goaltender of the year on his resume for a guy who struggled to average 1/2 a point per game.

Plenty can change in 12 months and what everybody sees as absurd today could look one-sided next season.

How many times do I have to repeat this. If they can't sign both goaltenders, HALAK will be the problem

not Carey Price. Price met 2 of his 9 bonuses meaning that he probably made just over a million last season.

His cap number is not $2.2M and his raise will not be reflected as an increase on 2.2M. It will be on $1.1M.

Hence his signability is not an issue, Halak with arbitration rights is the possible problem.

The Habs DO NOT have to make a decision on their goaltending this summer.

halak might be the problem but i dont think the fan base cares...If halak moved i fear the fans well take it out on price....

  6. if we cant sign price and halak..one might needed to be trade..i didnt say i like the trade but if we got to deal it might work..NO ONE WOULD TRADE A PLAYER LIKE Stamkos FOR PRICE....LMFAO THATS idiotic....I what to keep both guys..but i was just putting names out for fun...

really in a prefect we would keep both guys..The talk is that TB would like to have price...so i thought we would put out some names....but of course u cant have fun on this site because u just get call a idiot...man if u really think someone would trade Stamkos for price then i cant help u..that is a unreal deal..I dont think TB would even make the deal i put foward...i think we well have to move one guy and i hope its not price but if u think we can get a Stamkos type player for price or halak you we be very sad soon...the reason i said 1st pick is because TB as the 6 pick(price was a 5 pick) and i said Malone because he is a big winger and it would help TB dump cash and make them a younger team..but i dont think TB would even make this deal..

so iam not saying trade price but just having fun at looking at the guys we might trade for him or halak..

  7. If the Canadiens trade Price for Malone and a 1st rounder they are idiotic.

These are the type of deals that blow up in your face.

You spend 5 years toughing out your own prospects growing pains and as he enters the upswing

of every goalie post expansion (23-27 years old) you deal him for an average winger and a

player that you have to develop for another 5 years, then go out and sign a backup for the same

    cost as Price?

You don't trade either goalie for a B level package unless Halak gets something outrageous in

arbitration. Who cares if neither of them are happy, they can't do anything about it.

You don't give assets away, simple as that. If Stevie Y calls the Habs asking for Price, the starting

point is Stamkos then goes to Hedman. If they are untouchable you hang up the phone.

if we cant sign price and halak..one might needed to be trade..i didnt say i like the trade but if we got to deal it might work..NO ONE WOULD TRADE A PLAYER LIKE Stamkos FOR PRICE....LMFAO THATS idiotic....I what to keep both guys..but i was just putting names out for fun...

  8. Player's that I've heard rumors about dating back to trade deadline that I would love to have and not mind giving up a goalie for:

    - Carter

    - Sharp

    - J. Johnson

    - Horton

    - Booth

    - van Riemsdyk

if we cant get PLeks for 4 mil, i think we should go hard for carter or sharp for sure..

  9. I wouldn't really wanna get a 1st pick over a playable asset. If these playoffs have shown us anything, it's that we can go deep in the playoffs. With the right tweaks, maybe we can go deeper.

well Ryan Malone would give us more sizes on the wing and the 1st pick(6th over all) could be package to get a top line C......but like i said i dont think TB would do it...I think chicago would take the pick and SK for Sharp...

  10. While I ultimately think the Habs want to sign Pleks and probably should go as high as 5.5 mil in their quest to do so, what I'd really like to see is the Habs showing some lateral thinking and doing something like trading the Kostitsyns to the Penguins in return for Jordan Staal. A move like that would create major holes on the wing, of course, and those holes would need to be fixed with further moves, but it would be interesting and worth trying in order to fix both the size issue and the long-standing sore at C. The Habs have certainly been courageous on the UFA market but we haven't seen a really bold, ambitious trade of that kind during the Gainey-Gauthier era. For better or worse, though, nothing in Gauthier's resume suggests much inclination to pursue that kind of strike. He's more the small-but-steady-improvement type.

Still, both Cup finalists this season are organizations that never fear to make a big, bold move. Maybe we could stand a bit of that as we fully enter an era of up-against-the-cap perambulations. If you're going to be a Chicago/Philly type of organization and take the cap-be-damned approach, maybe you need to be willing to take ballsy risks along with it.

Their no way the penguins would make that deal...it would at least take A. kostitsyn and a pick...even then i dont think they what AK...I think if we could of trade AK for any thing good he be gone by now...I love to have staal but unsure how much it would take to get him...If plexs cant be sign then we should make a run for staal,Carter or Sharp....

  11. Not a fan of Sharp. Decent, but not the answer we need.

I still think we need to target Frolov and Marleau, then make a few trades.

    Cammy - Marleau - Frolov

    Gionta - Gomez - J.Carter

    Moen - Moore - Laps

    MaxPac - White - Pyatt

    Markov - Gorges

    Spacek - Subban

    OByrne - Emelin

    Price or Halak

    Sign Marleau and Frolov.

    ReSign Moore.

    Buy out Hammer.

Trade Hal Gill for a draft pick.

Sign Emelin and get him on a plane.

Trade a goalie for Jeff Carter.

i dont see how we could sign the guys u what...Marleau looking for 6-7mil, frolov is looking for5-6 mil, carter is 5 mil..plus we got to sign moore,halak,pyatt,laps,emelin..

i would trade for Patrick Sharp 3.9 mil for 1pick and sk.....

trade a goalie and gill for Ryane Clowe 3.6mil and 1pick

then trade for or sign another winger...(raffi torres-3.5 mil)

i also think we should sign Brian McGrattan and Arron Asham

    Cammy - sharp - Torres

    Gionta - Gomez -clowe

    Moen - Moore - Asham

    White- laps - Pyatt

    McGrattan,

  12. I don't know about Sharp.. have you seen his classless act during the Finals, insulting his ex-teammate Leighton when he was going the the bench after getting pulled? I found that disgusting. I'm even pretty sure Sharp is pissed off how the last game ended. He wanted to shoot the puck from the slot but little punk Kane did it all by himself, and the poor vet couldn't reach the kid to celebrate lol. Anyways not a big fan of Kane, not a big fan of Sharp.

By the way, Hawks will need cheap players next year to fill in their roster. I wouldn't be surprise to see SK end up there and have a decent season on Kane's line.

that not classless that competitive..its nature of the beast..you should see me and my brother drop the gloves everytime we play hockey...but after the game we laught about it and drink beer...and anyway because your teammates with someone does mean u like them...i what competitive players on the habs not a brunch of guys skateing around on the ice talking to ex teams mates planing want to do after the game..

  13. lets hope that we are just going to pick more canadian born players..They fired 4 European scouts,1 US scout so i just hope that we just scouts more guys that are in our back yard....

  14. I'd take Clowe over Kostitsyn. Similar numbers, more size, less baggage - the only downside is that he has less upside. If we could fit both under the cap, even better.

I hadn't realized that Murray was already 30. He'd still be useful to us though.

I think this is the best we're ever going to get for one of our goalies. Goalies have limited trade value. What's the most any goalie has ever received back in a trade? Look at the returns for Luongo, Roy, Belfour, Bryzgalov, Vokoun, Roloson, Fernandez, everyone.

The only time I can ever recall goaltenders being significant part of a trade for a star forward are Mike Smith in the Brad Richards trade (and look how that turned out for TB).

So the one-for-one Halak-for-Iginla trade is never going to happen. It's either make a trade like this that fills out the roster or keep both goalies until one has established himself as elite and then make a trade just like this.

I would not be horrified if Halak went now in a trade like this.

iam not sure want we would have to give up to get clowe but he got one think that i like..I know for a fact he would love to play for montreal and this is the type of players we need...skill is great but i take clowe heart..

i would trade one goalie for clowe and 1st round pick...

Clowe as put up good numbers in the ahl and nhl and take a look at some of his fightshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2M8dSW6Mhoo

  15. Laraque is on glue i watch that guy play with no heart and crying how much he lives by the code..now his singing that all he what to do was get on the ice and fight...Give me a break..this guy as really p*ss me off..mostly because i was so happy for him to come to montreal..now he show his true colours, we were a better team without him...

  16. i would keep Pleks for the right money....i hope we can get him for 4 mil-5 mil, on 3-5 year deal..

I like to add 2 big fowards..Ryane Clowe ,Ryan Malone type guys...if we must part with a goalie..so be it...but this is what we need more then anything..

Dump the Kosts and Hamrlik for sure..

Pyatt-Lapierre-White well be a good fouth line..but they all got to learn to drop the gloves a bit..its the third line iam a little worry about...

    lines

    Ryan Malone-Gomez-Gionta

    Cammalleri-plexs-Ryane Clowe

    Pouliot- Maxwell -Moen

    Pyatt-Lapierre-White

    Markov-O'Byrne

    Spacek-Subban

    Gorges-Yannick Weber

this is what i like to see but dont think it well happen..not sure if the money would work..

but i think we could trade a goalie for Ryan Malone..

trade gill and somthing for Ryane Clowe..sj needs to dump cash and gill give them a guy to help replace Rob Blake...

  17. Can anybody explain what's wrong with Pouliot? He hasn't scored in over 30 games and counting. As for LaPierre we must give him a significant raise unlike the raise that Bob Gainey gave him and Latendresse last year. One last note P.K Subban has logged 29 minutes of play against pittsburgh so I hope that our staff and management does not ruin him as they've done with Pouliot. :hlogo:

how as the staff and management ruin pouliot?

  18. The same experts said we wouldnt make the playoffs..I learn their no experts when it comes to sports just a lot of fat know its alls sitting around talking statistics..

GO HABS GO...... :hlogo: :hlogo: :hlogo: :hlogo:
