I think that this team will be fun to watch this year. Don't see us losing alot of ot games as our speed will be more apparent 4-4. Hopefully but we shall see.

Yes it was. Both ovations were really long and were great!
I love it when the Announcer(Michel Lacroix) tries to speak after a few minutes during an ovation, and the crowd just cheers louder, as if saying to Lacroix: "Shut up, we're not done yet!"
yeah I was there and it was great. If I remember correctly, the only reason it stopped was because they just started singing the anthems. If not we may still be there today. It will be a lasting memory in my life as I am sure it will be for Saku.

TSN saying Gaborik to Rangers, 5 yrs at $5.75. Basically Sathers turned Gomez into Higgins + Gaborik + McDo. Not happy.
and Bob turned Higgins and McDo into our new 1st line since Gionta and Camm would not be here withoot Gomez. Seems ok to me.

Yep, if he's an emergency callup (as he's been in his 3 callups this year), he can avoid both types of waivers. The interesting thing is all the information I have doesn't have Denis requiring re-entry waivers like was discussed last night - his AHL salary is $100,000 CDN and anyone making more than $100,000 US requires re-entry. Considering the Canadian dollar hasn't been over the USD at any time lately, I personally don't think he'd require re-entry waivers to begin with.
I thought I had read somewhere that he signed for less money in the AHL so that he would have a better chance of playing in the NHL because he would not have to go thru waivers to get there. I can't remember where I read it but will try to find it.

Yea, if they really apply themselves, the leafs, Ottawa maybe a few others can pass them in the standings.
At least maybe they can get a few balls in the lottery to get Tavares.
You mean the Habs have a chance to get some balls. That would be a good start.

seems like he played a year or two for the Habs before he went to the leafs. In the late 90's from what i remember. I think back then they were playing every one with Saku so he probably did play with him.

I feel for Carbo.. if he picks 4 lines and sticks with them, there will be 500 posts calling for his head because either a) he picked the wrong lines, or B) he failed to adjust his lines if things are not going well.
In any case, the team is primed to beat the Sabres if they play 60 minutes and with discipline. Dumb penalies must stop (looking at you komi).
I agree. I remember many post bashing Carbo last season when he stuck with Sammy Pleks and Kovy. Even though they never gelled, he gave them a chance and he was bashed for it.

I'll be adding some additional stats and features to this thread shortly (and most likely all season long... as this is a work in progress!)
If anyone has ideas/suggestions for stats or information i could add, don't be shy! I may have made the thread, but this is our Habsworld!
Maybe you could add PP and PK numbers for each game. Since we seem to be shorthanded so often, it might show if the penalties we take each game improves. Great thread. Thanks

I thought the passport thing started at the first of the year (at least to get into the states). I always seem to have more problems getting into Canada then back into the US. I have shown my tickets with my birth certificate and drivers license and still been pulled over my last 2 times into Canada last season. Doesn't matter anymore for me as I have a passport now. Can't wait to show it tomorrow night on my way to the game.

Yeah I live 15 min from Lake Placid. Didn't get to goto as many of the games as I had wished. They started at 4 PM during the week and I usually get home around 6. It was a treat to get to see what I saw though.

I agree. Fisher was useless at that camp. McDonagh looked head and shoulders above the rest of the D out there while fisher was invisible in the two games I saw him play. I didn't get to see Max play as he was hurt the last day i went. I did overhear someone say Max was the best player on the ice after the first day. He played in the early game that day and I only saw the late game as I was at work. Not sure who it was that said that but they were wearing suits and coming from the section that was blocked off for scouts.
