Mayer is NOT getting the start? I am soooooo very disappointed to hear this awful news!
-
Dogs hold on to win 5-3. Tenute with a nice two goals. Belzile looked right at home and was one of the stars. Mayer let in a couple softies in the third period but can be forgiven as the shots were all by the Heat in the second and third. Chaput hurt in a collision with Stortini.
Other notes: Barry Brust replaced Taylor in the Heat goal at the start of the second period
PBP mentioned Mayer has never had a shut out in his pro career. I thought when Pateryn put the Dogs up 4-0 it might happen
The defense in the second and third reminded me of a three stooges routine-just too much runnning around and I think the puck was in the Dogs end in the second period for the first five minutes for example. Merth was used only sparingly.
Mayer with a shutout? Never going to happen.

I guess I'll have to remove the "Free Avtsin" off my signature at this site, Interesting that two Dogs are going to San Francisco. Since my wife and I attended a SF Bulls game in November, I think there are only four or five of the players we saw still on the active roster. I think the Bulls have gone through over 60 players so far-will have to take a count once the new guys show up on the roster
(it's sure going to bugger up the current jerseys-off-our backs promotion BTW-this year it looks like they are using genuine regular issue jerseys for the promotion. Last couple years they used a cheaper one off jersey (for example no CH crests) used during the pink in the rink promotions)
It's the same people year after year who "win" the jerseys off the backs anyways....that's why I purchased all of mine outright.

Is this a trade situation or one of the ECHLs infamous "on loan" situations?
-
How did they get two "Admirals" anyway? You'd think they would have prevented that
When Milwaukee joined the AHL after the IHL folded, they were allowed to keep their IHL team name.

The Marlies just got better. If he plays as well for them as he did when he was with Hamilton, they are going to go far this season.

The way they are winning games this season, there will be no playoff run.

This is just my personal opinion, but I have met and spoken with PK when he was with the Hamilton Bulldogs, and my impression of him from that meeting is that he is full of himself with his ego. He thinks that he is the second coming of Bobby Orr and wants nothing to do with the fans who support him.
Having said that, however, I will give credit where credit is due. He IS one hell of a hockey player and I am glad that he is with the Habs.

I am astounded that this game is still scheduled to go ahead and has not been postponed due to today's snowstorm. Did not go in to work today; would not have been able to get there...and I still cannot even attempt to drive down my street even if I wanted to. I wouldn't make it past my driveway without getting stuck in a huge snowdrift. Mike, you have more courage than I do in even trying to attend the game tonight.

Lefebvre might want to watch his back. He will be next to go.

I'm disappointed to hear this. The Bulldogs need someone to work with the "kids", as Alex Henry used to do. Off topic, I am also disappointed to hear about Ron Wilson being let go. it's not a good time to be a Bulldogs fan.

Jersey is the descriptive term used these days. But I guess they started out as actual sweaters didn't they.
