  1. I didn't see the game due to work issues, so I may be talking out of turn, but still...

I don't think firing Carbo is the answer. We've gone through Therrien, Julien, now Carbo - at some point you have to face the conclusion that the coach, whatever his strengths and weaknesses, is not the core problem. The team simply can't transcend mediocrity with its only offensive catalyst being Saku Koivu. (Don't accuse me of 'blaming' Koivu, the problem is simply that he's not good enough to carry this team offensively over a whole season; it's not his fault). Even if Koivu gets hot again and we squeak into the playoffs, it'll be the same old desperate song and dance next year, because none of our youth shows any signs of evolving into serious, elite-level offensive leaders.

I don't often say this, but I fear that it's time. Bob has to make a move. A big one. It could be Koivu for Marleau. It could be Ryder and a package for someone else. But it has to involve 'core' players, both coming and going. I know this sounds like panic, but there comes a time when assessment has to end and bold action is required. The fundamental talent simply isn't good enough for this team to be a bona fide winner, either now or in the forseeable future.

Hope I'm wrong. But haven't we suffered enough???

Stop the whining ladies.......the slabs aint that good.

  2. Every once in a while I nap at 7:00 (AST) and get up at 8 to watch the game. Ended up sleeping until 10:30. This is one of those occasions where, "I didn't miss much".

    What a drag

Who won 2 nite? I couldn't attend the game due to my nude volleyball game down at zee beach. I assume the havs won 2 nite since they have won 24 cups and they are still the best team in the world. :puke:

    ..Joe..

  3. Who said you were a clown catty? I am just tired of everyone saying how great the habs "used to be"

we struggled for a several years, but now we are back near the top again.

stop mouthing me off, and lets talk aboot the current habs.

Fuhr, Brodeur and Smith are some of the greatest goalies of all time.......who cares. lets talk about the current stars....luongo, price, etc

  4. I am not a troll. I am just tired of you clowns saying how many cups the slabs have won every time they lose a game. It is in the past. Lets see what is going on now.

I do like the habs, but I don't like the excuses.

Bonds is a great hitter, but its getting tiresome of hearing aboot the roids.

Gretzky is the greatest player of all time......but its in the past and lets talk about the current stars.

Oilers are the greatest team ever.......but they aint so hot now.

The current NHL is what we need to talk aboot. The Habs are high scoring and have done well this year. I want the cup back in "canada"

Maybe you should grow up insanearama. And forzberg is not with the avs anymore....stop the insanity :puke:

Come on folks. Lets bring the cup back home.

  5. calm down catty. It is just one loss. You seem to think that life is over just because of one loss. you completely read me wrong. We will bounce back and win a lot more games. Take a pill.

Oh, i see what you did there!

By stating that the Senators are playing poorly, you're implying that their 3-1 win over the Habs was by a fairly low margin, far lower than normal, should the Senators been playing to their full potential. This in turn insinuates that the Habs are talentless and mediocre. Furthermore, despite the fact the Canadiens have the #1 power play in the league and are 4th in points, your label of "lowly" suggests that all teams other than the Senators are unworthy and lacking. In retrospect, i must say: Bravo! What a sensationally witty post! Your cleverly laid out your jab at the Canadiens has left us all discombobulated! Logically speaking, it is obvious the Senators are on pace for a 72-10-0 season, and it is obvious they shall continue to obtain 8-game winning streaks all season long! I am so thrilled that i took the time to read your post; it has left me with a better understanding of the universe we live in. You are a superior individual who's mere presence on this thread has enlightened us all. Truly, sir, you are a master of the Internet art of trolling. Congratulations.

  6. Well if you want to be taken seriously, you should care about spelling.

cheer for a decent team and your thoughts will be taken more seriously.

this is a NATIONAL hockey league. stop being so biased towards cdn teams. who's leading the scoring these days?

why isn't there more teams from canada??????????

It may have cdn players, but it is mostly run by americans and watched by americans.

Hows the cdn soccer team doing?

  7. That most hated layer list is pretty right on.

One athlete I'd add is Michelle Wie (around 9 or 10). Never won anything and got that sense of entitlement bad attitude at all the wrong times.

Does this make coherent sense to anyone?

DH.....dumb hockey. [Great story... compelling and rich.]

Too many goons. [Probably wrong, not even 1 per team, with the exception of Philly.]

Gotten worse every year. [Wrong, fighting stats bear that out... unless "every year" means "since last year."]

"Back in my time." [You're 17 (says you in your profile), and your demeanor and grasp on grammar support that notion. Nothing is more annoying than pretnetiousness.]

Rid of most cdn franchises. [i'm guessing the english translation of this chickenscratch would be: "Get rid of most of the Canadian franchises." WHY would the NHL move out of Canada? Especially now that the Canadian dollar is stronger than the U.S.]

"Rid of the watered down teams." [Which teams are watered down? You tell me. Which owner and GM are out there saying, "Gee, our talent is too concentrated, we need to pick up lousy players to dilute our team's talent pool. And NO, rebuilding doesn't count.]

"When I was young, I played in the NHL." [...huh?!]

mind you it was just an exhibition [i still don't believe you're over 17.]

they will probably never let women play in a league game. [Wrong, Manon Rheaume, Sept. 23, 1992]

hey mils, rheaume never played in a league game. it was exhibition, junior.

I just realized that I entered my birthdate wrong.

yes cdn franchise....kweebek could not win a cup in canada, but they had pretty good success in the good ole USA run by americans. wimpypeg also left town.

    6 cdn teams.

    24 amn teams

1 goon is too many. too much whining and cowardly stick acts in the league.

furthermore, did I give you permission to speak to me????????

JK milsy. the league is getting too boring and chippy. I want the old NHL back.

  8. lol, we could say that baseball is a sport for those who are not in good shape, love sunflower seeds and spend more than half of the game sat on the bench or up in the same spot.

You'll probably say " oh What a shame for the Biggio, Jeter, Ripken, etc who are all great athletes", but your comments is just a shame for Joe Sakic, Steve Yzerman, Teemu Selanne and Paul Kariya... It's easy to only consider the bad part of a sport... talking about no skill, what's the definition of a DH ?

    DH.....dumb hockey.

come on joe. I don't hate hockey. there is too much bluddy stick work in hockey. too many goons. it has gotten worse every year. I just wish it was as good as it was back in my time. cut down to a dozen or so teams, rid of most cdn franchises and rid of the watered down teams. hal, when I was young I played in the nhl. thats howe bad it was....mind you it was just an exhibition and they will probably never let women play in a league game.
