  1. Wolski is just another in a huge group of young Canadian junior stars who never got a shot at the WJC.

Cleary, Marleau, Beech, Locke, and now Wolski...

Hopefully Latendresse, Price and Chip are on the list. I cannot see why they wouldn't be.

  2. "brining back the gold????. That's a crock of shit. In typical Gretzky fanclub action, they give him all the credit and none of it goes to the players. He put an All-Star team together and won. How come GM's who put together the All-Star teams for the All-Star game do not get all the credit? Why not, they selected all-stars and left off other all-stars.

If Canada doesn't win in 2006, Gretzky will not get any sort of flack from the pro-99 media. They'll fall all over him with another movie about his dog or goldfish or something.

    As for 96 and 98. Let's rewind.

1996. Lemieux injuried, Bourque refused to play, Roy refused to play, Francis hurt, MacInnis hurt, Kariya hurt. Even with all those problems they came very close, and if the goal judges hadn't been seeing things threw red-white-blue on Hull's illegal goal, Canada would have won. Not to mention Richter stood on his head.

1998. Most of the anti-Hockey Canada Canadians forget that this was a great team. Kariya would have added alot to the team but was injuried, on purpose, by Gary Suter in one of the biggest cheap shots in history. The team dominated there first four games, and put Kariya and Sakic (who was injuried in the game against the Czechs) in that game against Hasek and Canada would walk away with a Gold. NO DOUBT.

In 2002, Canada won because of guys like Lemieux and Yzerman stepping up in the locker room and showing true leadership. Gretzky whining to the world was an embarrassment. It didn't motivate anyone, despite what the "Gretzky fanclub" will say.

And if you wanna talk about "controversial" picks, lets talk about Joe Thornton being left off the 02 team inplace of nutcase Theoren Fleury who just happened to be a good friend of Waynego. More proof he cares more about his own self-worth and friends then the country.

    Yep.

As for Nolan, the team needs size and grit upfront. No one would argue with that. He's prolly not the answer but options are limited inless you want to start trading away the future.

  4. Plekanec had a hell of a game. I felt he stepped up his play.

I thought when they reviwed the goal they were gonna call it back espically the way things went last week.

A nice week off. Get healthy, and get motivated. This is a good win to build on I think.

Typical HNIC/CBC shrills. Cherry cuts up Sid The Kid, praises the Leafs despit the fact they got there asses handed to them. Anyone else hear McLame say that McCabe is "dominating" the NHL? Ugh.

Yep. Good way to ruin the kids development. Atleast give'em a chance on the PP. If this keeps up and the Habs don't win, it's time Julien starts anwsering some questions. Murray is exactly what the team needs and AK has tons of skill and would look great on the PP.

  6. I was about to say, we probably would have won no matter who we had in the lineup. And yet Gretz is hailed as a hero for constructing such an unbelievable team. Give me a break...

Yep. If Canada does not win in 2006, Gretzky will get a free ride from the 99-shrill media. No one will question the fact he named Quinn as coach or why Crosby and Spezza where left off. That is a huge problem I have with him. And that crap where he didn't get fined yet Murray does proves the league is so love-struck by him they allow him to break any rule he wants.

  7. ''The intent and spirit of Rule 56(a) were applied properly in this incident,'' said NHL Executive Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations Colin Campbell. ''Hockey Operations will not rescind the automatic one-game suspension to Mr. Chara or the $10,000 fine to Mr.Murray.''

Maybe the league can start explaining why Murray/Chara are in trouble yet Doan did the exact same thing and nothing happened to The Ego. Hmmmm, the double standard NHL strikes again!!
