  1. Smyth is a warrior. I met Smyth outside a Oilers practice when they were playing the Leafs early in his career. He is a really nice guy. He is a great player and a true Canadian who always plays for us internationally.

I would go after SMyth in the offseason if I were Babs.

  2. I wrote that post this morning while I was still pissed off about the game.

Now that I have had time to think about it, I do agree Kovalev made a poor choice. Souray also did by not dropping back.

But lets not break their balls, they are two of the main reasons we were at the point we were.

  3. Theodore is not at fault for the OT winner. I think all of us were in shock about what happened and would have been volunarble.

Theodore has let in some questionable goals yes, but he has also kept us in alot of these games.

He is the reason we're here. Most people picked us to finish dead last this year and he has proved them all wrong. He should get a nomination for the Vezina, and I would argue a nomination for the Hart. Montreal would have been toast this year without him. He might not have had the gody #'s he did in 2002, but he as equally as valueable to the Habs this time around. Should he win it? Nope, but he should get some recognition.

How many people would have guessed the Habs would have got 93 points this year? Not me, not anyone on this board. The reason they did was cause of THeodore. If they had Kovalev for the whole year, they prolly would have finished 6th or maybe even 5th.

What a damn coward.  I'm so glad that Theodore is not only a better player, but has a better attitude on the ice.

    Karma is a sweet thing.

Look at how the Vancouver organzation, fans and players acted after what Bertuzzi did? Basically blammed it on Moore.

Well I am glad to see Calgary is going at them hard and I am glad to see Cloutier is out for a while.

I hate that. When you go to hockey game it's to have fun and cheer for your team. When shit like that happens it makes me sick. I went to the ACC for a Leafs Habs game and when Zednik scored I jumped out of my seat and cheered and someone told me to shut up and sit down and then another goal was scored I jumped and someone threw an empty pop can at me. I was there to see my team, not get harassed and when something like that happens it makes me sick.:puke::puke::puke:

thats why i don't go to the ACC... friend of mine was roughed up after a game... it was game 6 in the leafs/devils series a few years ago, and some laff fan got all pissed off and tried to pick a fight.

Having a nickname to show the dislike for the Leafs and beating someone up cause they like another team are way different man.

  7. Lets give the guy a break.

Knuble's goal didn't even fully cross the line. Murray's goal was understandable cause everyone was in such complete shock.

I believe he made 40 saves, including 15 in OT. He kept them in it. They just could not finish. Besides, if that whistle wasn't blown on Bulis, it's 4-2 Habs and the series is tied.

  8. I have never in my life seen something like that happened last night.

I have never seen so many bad things go wrong for the Habs in such a short time.

Basically, what could go wrong did.

    1) In the third with a one goal lead, the Habs come so close on so many opportunites.

    2) Habs get a brief two man advantage and come so close to scoring but don't.

    3) Bulis breaks out towards and empty net and with the game on his stick, the play is called on an "offside". Play should not have been called. It was not offside. Watch the replay.

    4) Dowd takes a faceoff, while the best faceoff man in the league for the last five years sits on the bench.

    5) That faceoff allowed Bruins to get possesion and well we all know that happened. Knuble's shot gets behind Theodore and I still have yet to see a replay that shows it completly over the line (which is the rule).

    6) Habs get atleast six quality scoring chances in the first overtime. The first line was flying and had half those opportunites.

    7) Habs get a PP in OT, which should have motivated the players to end it. It didn't.

    8) Kovalev skates threw centre, slashed by Green (which hurts like a bitch and anyone who thinks different has never had it done), bumps into Souray which takes our best defenseman out of the play, which allows Murray to walk in and score.

If any one of those eight things went the other way, the series is 2-2. Maybe the ghosts haven't made their way over to the Bell Centre but it was like the Habs were jinxed in the third and on. Last night was a first. I've never seen a team have so many bad things happen in such a short amount of time.

I also have never seen a series so lopsided on the scoreboard yet so lopsided in play. Habs have outplayed the Bruins in every period since Game 1 Period 1. A few bounces and it's 3-1 Habs. Even if the whistle wasn't blown and Bulis scored the empty netter, it's 2-2.

  9. Leaf fans are so pathetic...

Anybody who lives in Toronto or near it will agree

Game 1: They were clearly outplayed in every which way, yet the fans said "No big deal, it's only 1 game"

Game 2: Toronto plays crappy again and but difference is better goaltending. So they flood into the streets as if they'd won the Stanley Cup. They've now written the Sens off even though it's only Game 2.

They are the only team in the playoffs who's fans wet themselves every time they score a goal. This is the most even series of the playoffs. Maybe Leaf fans should look up the word "even" in the dictionary. It doesn't mean "After getting our butts kicked in Game 1, we won Game 2 so the series is over and all other teams are folding cause we're so good"...

  10. Bad intelligence is another right-wing scapegoat phrase.

Bush was clearly going to invade Iraq when he took office in 2000. Apprently he was planning it a good 10 months before 9/11. And even than, their was no link between Iraq and 9/11. Bush knew AQ was the real threat and that they were planning more attacks but he did nothing. The one I find the most hilarous is Rice didn't even know who AQ was when she took office. LOL.

It must piss off the right-wing to know all these former White House staff at coming forward and saying the same thing. Bush knew about AQ, did nothing about. Bush wanted a link between Iraq and 9/11 but couldn't find it so he used "WMD". He hoped WMD's would be found and he'd look like the good guy. They haven't and it's not becoming more clear that he lied.

Should be fun to see Rice testify under oath. You know she'll be lying so the right-wing can't use this "But Clinton lied under oath" anymore.

  11. Gotta love Ottawa eh? They are the biggest chokers in sports history. Man they make the 86 Red Sox look good.

Two years ago, up 3-2 against the Leafs in the series on home ice, they took a 2-0 lead in the first. Only to blow it and lose the series.

They were up 1-0 in game seven with the potential of winning their conference. They blow it and lose the game in the final minutes.

Now they have the division title on the line, so what do they do? Well not show up. 6-0 ass kicking from a team that has owned them this season.

I really wish we could have played Ottawa cause I firmly believe we could have beatin them.

With Thornton hurt, I'd rather play the B's, but I still think the Habs could beat the Leafs. If Theo and the defensive plays well enough, our speed will give them fits and alot of pressure on Belfour will eventually crack him. I don't think the Habs should be written off. They had one of the best records in the second half and well they remind me of the Ducks from last year.

You know 2 vs 7, heavy favoured veteran team vs underdog young team with great goaltending. Four game sweep. If anyone has the potential to be this years Giguere, it's Theodore.

Can you imagine the reaction from Laff land if the Habs ever did beat the Leafs? Suicides would go up.
