  1. Puck, your absolutly right! Man there are so many leafs fans here and all of my friends are leaf fans and I just prefer to watch the habs vs. leafs games myself. It also sucks living here and being a habs fan because I don't get RDS, so therefore i can hardly watch a habs game during the week.

  2. Hmm...I think it should be a sniper. I think that the habs defence can survive until souray gets back. Rivet will need to step up as well as markov but i think they could be okay FOR NOW.

I say that we could go after chris drury and taylor pyatt for hainsey, dackell and a pick.

drury has the scorers touch and he is capable of stepping up this habs offence and would fit in nicely on the power play. since he is small, i decided to throw in taylor pyatt who is much bigger to even out the size

    pyatt : 6'4 222 lbs

    drury : 5'10 180 lbs

drury also has playoff experience with the avs.

  3. There are bugs, of course, and roster glitches (I'm still waiting for Ryder). There's also the obsession with Kilger (he's the top LW on the team). I wish someone could explain why he's so great in NHL 2004, and not in real life.

Very true....i cannot understand why he is rated 82 (i think). Oh well, great game anyways...

  4. Hi, I am a DIE HARD habs fan and I'm from Toronto, and I HATE the leafs. Yup, it's sure hard growing up in Toronto and hating the leafs and loving the habs, and if you survive through it, your a true habs fan.

  5. Report: Roenick thinking of retirement

    2/15/2004

The latest concussion suffered by Jeremy Roenick has the Philadelphia Flyers centre thinking about retirement.

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer, Roenick is expected to visit with Dr. Karen Johnston in Montreal to undergo some tests to determine the severity of his ninth concussion. Johnston also counts Eric Lindros as a client.

"I'm mulling over a lot of things right now and I'm not ruling out retirement," Roenick said Saturday. "We've talked about it in the last 24 hours. I have a lot to weigh. This is nine concussions, and that does something to you."

Roenick suffered a shattered jawbone and severe concussion when he was struck in the face by a Boris Mironov slapshot on Thursday night. He has undergone surgery to wire his jaw shut but the concussion seems to be causing more concern.

``My senses have been good, but other symptoms like lightheadedness and dizziness and nausea and stuff like that have been pretty prevalent the last few days,'' he said. ``No one wants to come back more than I do, but no one has to live my life like I do.

``So I have to take some very cautious steps here.''

Roenick said the concussion, in the midst of a promising season for the team, is the biggest challenge of his career. But he remains motivated to return to the ice.

"I'm a little shook," said Roenick. "When you take two shots point-blank to the face like I have in the past two months, it's a pretty scary thing. I have to see how the neurological stuff turns out and how my body reacts before I do anything."

When told of the talk of retirement, Flyers' head coach Ken Hitchcock felt Roenick was letting his emotions get the better of him.

"I don't think there is any question he will be back," Hitchcock said. "Right now, he is riding an emotional wave... . He needs some rest."

Yet Roenick made it clear that he would set no timetable for his comeback, saying his health was most important to him.

"There are a lot of intangibles, said Roenick. "No one wants to come back more than I do, but no one has to live my life like I do. So I have to take very cautious steps in what I do here."

"I feel really bad that something like this has to happen... . This is a year I feel we can win the Cup, and I want to be part of every bit of it. It's very disheartening for me."

  6. Unload youth for Smyth?? that's crazy. Okay, smyth is a great player and is good at playmaking as well as scoring, but come on, I do not think this is the Habs guy they want, especially trading away our youth for him!

If we have any hopes for the canadiens to be more developed, trading away our youth is bazarre. also, although smyth is a good player, he's just adding to the small size of the club. a player of O'neill/comrie calibur would be good.

  7. Guy!, you're opinion is very true and I agree, but wouldn't you think that this team needs a little more depth. I would think that it could be filled in just by acquiring A sniper, but nothing major.

  8. Come on guys lets not freak out TOO much about this..if he were to come back to the habs, that would help out the fourth line! I dont really like him either but its not about that right now, and remember, this guy can cream tie domi in a fight in which he already has. The fourth line could look like this:

    Langdon-Begin-Corson

that would be a force to be reckoned with and when it comes time to face the leafs, or any other physical teams, we could actually win fights, and get more energy from the bench.

  9. To start off on this new thread, i would just like to say one thing. Don't you guys think that Julien should put Zednik along side the first line with Koivu again? as i can remember, they were doing quite nicely as koivu would set zednik up alot.

that is not why i mainly made this new thread for though. The habs are on a losing streak right now, and i think that a trade would be great for this francise. whether its a power forward or a solid Dmen, thats up for discussion. what do you people think of this? what are your trade ideas/suggestions?
