Agree with the OP if we lose the season and a better environment emerges, that would be good.
My idea: Ten teams in a Canadian Division, ten teams in an American Division, after divisional eliminations the two winners play for the Stanley Cup.
This would lower costs and ticket prices, increase quality of play, and marshal fan interest right up to the cross-border final. The fans would win.
But the millionaire owners don't want franchises to fold, and the millionaire players don't want to see 1/3 of NHLPA members lose their jobs.
Too bad neither side's interests correspond with what's good for hockey!

Tim Thomas adds homophobia to his CV
Chick-fil-A (fried chicken restaurant) president Dan Cathy on same-sex marriage: "I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, "We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage," and I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to try to redefine what marriage is about."
Thomas on Facebook: "I stand with Chick-fil-A."

Arpon Basu @ArponBasu
Tim Bozon, asked for an example of his knowledge of Quebec French, proceeded to list the profanities he knew. Scrum ended shortly thereafter

There is nothing better than to watch the Bruins lose.
Yes! And especially if Pouliot is instrumental in the loss. I think the broons signed BP in part as a "screw you Habs" gesture, so this is sweet!

Loving that Benoit Pouliot took the late penalty, for the Caps' power play goal that put them up 4-3 in game five. Yeah, loving that.

What's up JLP ! How's life in Japan ?
Hi Joe! I'm out of Tokyo, living in Toronto and hating it. Not sure what comes next. My last year has sort of paralleled the Habs'...

1. Believe Desharnais will get even better. "The puck follows him."
2. No place for Saku on the squad IMO. The idea of limited time on the 4th line is charming but I would prefer a high-energy 4th line stocked with youngish S.O.B.s

Did the Hanson Brothers make it to the Oil?

If you think the dogs are thin now, you should have seen them during that long losing streak when there was no Palushaj, Leblanc, Engqvist, St.Denis, and Dumont.
I shudder when I try to imagine that. Was my first Dogs game.

If anyone watched the game, you saw me and JLP behind/beside Mayer in the 1st and 3rd.
Notable players:
Avtsin showed flashes of brilliance and long stretches of drifting. When he moves his feet he's great, but it isn't all that frequent.
Alex Henry skates like a bear. His transition to skating backwards is particularly awful. Plus it should be noted that ALL of the Marlies sustained pressure occurred when Henry and Fitzgerald were on the ice.
Mayer hands out rebounds like candy on Halloween.
Leblanc never smiles. His work ethic is fantastic.
Enqvist looked surprisingly good. He seems like a different player in the AHL, though he still won't throw a hit.
Zack Fitzgerald is one ugly mother######er.
We were first on the boards, ahl hockey is fun!
Thought "DeSimone" had one of the better hockey names and was impressed to see we have a player named "Fast."
Dogs thin now for sure will be more fun to watch next year.

Rob, are you trying to punish the inactive GMs or punish me?
There are 6 teams without lists. IMO - and not just because I want to save myself some free time - if we really want to punish these GMs, we should just base their lists on OA. Their top 18 are protected, the rest are left unprotected. The law should be blind - this is strict, likely to bother a GM but not nearly enough to ruin his team (he'll lose the 44-84-67 D instead of the 65-72-71 F), and yes, it is also the easiest way.
Just do it BTH, sort on OA if no list was submitted. Simple, and we can't hold the hands of GMs who don't do even simple maintenance duties.

Beat JLP into a bloody pulp.
The Hanson Brothers countdown is on, too bad it's going to be a looooong countdown though.
