Yeah I like the fact he's made it as well. Hopefully he has worked out the angles and so on with the smaller ice and now that he's on the big team he will prove he belongs. Nice to see the Habs becoming a truly international team!

I think that means if he is sent to Hamilton he still gets NHL pay for at least 30 games, a sort of conditional two-way contract with a 30 game clause. I can't imagine a contract wherein he HAS to actually play a certain number of games -- I mean what if he's terrible or he's injured, Julien still has to dress him? It must be about money, the 30 games thing.

Is it possible for just ONE player to get a fighting major? I mean, A skates up to B and drops the gloves, B does not. A punches B. So B turns the other cheek, and skates away. Would A get 5 minutes and B nothing? Probably not going to happen in the testosterone-charged NHL but if a team adapted this strategy they would score a whole lot of PP goals and win a whole lot of games. Can't see what more Latendresse could have done in preseason, he was one of our best hitters and top scorers. So I've got to wonder what Gainey meant when he said the best players would make the team regardless of age or contract... I think its a shame, he was the sort of go-to physical player we needed up front, now instead it looks like we may get a pair of goons? Other teams start their exceptional youngsters (Bergeron, Crosby) -- the fans love it and if a player is ready then why not take him to the next level? I guess, the Habs still follow their "don't bring up youngsters, let them develop in the minors playing with vastly inferior teammates" unwritten rule no matter what Gainey says publically. A little dissapointed at this, anyway from what I've heard from Lats will take it well he's mature and we'll see him at training camp again next year, when maybe the Habs will decide to practice what they preach.

Wel maybe yes and maybe no. Him or Hainsey is the idea, Streit has improved every game so we'll see. If Souray starts on the IR then both S&H can play awhile regular season. We'll see...
