Solid start for the Bulldogs who lead 2-0 after 1. Geoffrion had the first goal from Quailer/Gallagher, the second goal may be changed but as it stands, it's Palushaj from Nash and Holland. Bournival celebrated as if he tipped in the Nash point shot so it may be changed to him.
Would be awesome for Bournival to have scored in his first ahl game. Good to see Holland and Gallagher getting some points even if they are secondary assists.

OMG A GAME DAY THREAD! MY HEART IS LIFTED
Its so pretty
-
Man someone trolled with Patyrn as their number 1 pick haha
-
Ok, the owners are already claiming $250 mill in losses. How much did the teams that lost money last year lose in total? Maybe the owners need to wake up and share the profits so everyone is happy. Just sayin'
What i find really strange about their resistance to profit sharing... is that it is practiced in the NFL... so it isn't like its unheard of :/
Small market owners should really be pushing for it.

no the sim wasn't done last night, I spoke to haydis, he said he'll get it tonight.
Sweet, might as well let detroit have sent in lines in what could likely be their last contending playoff run.
-
I just hope that the lines get inputted!
Just for fun, I don't think they would work haha
-
You sure you weren't drinking for three days and think it was only one?
Last night's sim (which still hasn't happened) was game #4, we've done one game each day since monday night.
Gah, I was away last night and class till... 12am est on tuesday.. that must be my issue \
Was the sim completed last night? Just not posted
-
The lines deadline was 10 PM EST last night, did you get them in before then?
What? How did I go away for a day and miss three games?
-
Very different lines for the final game in the series haha
Hopefully Detroit can catch Phoenix off guard
-
I totally missed the bit where we simmed the 2nd game!
-
Just my opinion though and the past does tend to repeat itself.
In the past there has been rival leagues when there are cities who have interest in hockey and do not have a club. Cities like Quebec or Hamilton obviously. But cases have been brought to the NHL for Saskatoon, a 2nd Toronto team, Kansas City, Vegas, Houston, Seattle...
None of these have happened but there are cities wanting teams... that has created at least one rival league in the past.
I mentioned above that I don't think that there is enough people with mullah to get that started... but if history repeats itself we could see something.
(more of a devil's advocate bit tbh)

A major problem I see with that is how we cannot find owners for many of the teams currently in the NHL. Many of the southern teams have had problems, Pittsburgh not to long ago, New Jersey now... How many "wealthy businessmen" are there in this economy willing to start up teams, which on average is not a money making venture I'm pretty sure.
Plus the only example of this is the WHA which did in the end fail.. not exactly something they could look to for advice.
It is true that the talent pool is deeper now.. but I don't see where the money would come from, unless it was similar to the CFL where there would only be like 6-8 teams who pick up cast offs or up and "situation" guys. Still the size of the league would limit the amount of actual pressure they would inflict on the NHL.

Lots of people still get it wrong. Mostly non Habs fans but I find a lot of older fans get it wrong as well. I once got into a debate about it with a 60 year old.
I was more making reference to the NY gm who started it haha

Mike took a look at this question today, and the myth that many fans believe.
Oh americans
-
One thing that was noted during the broadcast last night, they figure that Hamilton may go into the year with 3 goalies. Something to watch for, perhaps?
Anything that leads to less Mayer
-
That would be nice...
You kinda deserve a cup, im amazed you haven't got one!
-
Hamilton scores to give the Marlies the lead. Boy that felt weird to type...
I had to reread that haha
-
Oh no detroit lost its first game D:
Will it be two straight conference finals loses for Detroit?
-
Good try Boston, good job on the Tampa Bay upset.
Detroit disposes of the previous cup champs in five games and now is in their second consecutive cup final.
Good Luck Brian. Good series Haydis.
-
Lost Gervais for a week. That balances out the injuries.
-
I have been wondering all along with the GLUT of players out there why we haven't signed higher end guys?
just an idea because i have no idea... but a lot of those higher end ahl'ers go overseas and AHL teams don't have the same amount of money say... the habs do to spend on roster players I wouldn't think.
-
Lets see if Detroit can close out Dallas
-
-
freaking Perezhogin out for a week....THAT sucks.
Rough :/
If you lose because of an injury that would be lame :/
Good Luck!
Minor hiccup here in game three I trust our boys to turn it around in game 4. No changes needed yet I don't think..........You should play the line we talked about earlier in the season
