Gallagher did, Beaulieu did, Condon did, Andrighetto did, Hudon and McCarron likely will. Lernout, Lindgren likely 50-50, but were long shots to begin with.

    Louis LeBlanc
    Jared Tinordi
    Jacob Dela Rose
    Zach Fucale

Those would be the bigger names off the top of my head. Guys who went to shit with lef

  2. Not only first round picks.

    1st and 2nds post McD/Patches/Subban draft

    Danny Kristo Bust Traded
    Louis LeBlanc Bust Traded
    Jared Tinordi Bust Traded
    Nathan Beaulieu Traded for 3rd
Sebastien Collberg probably Bust but Traded in Vanek deal to nyi
    Dalton Thrower Bust in echl
Jacob Dela Rose max a 4th line grinder
Zach Fucale played most of last season in echl
    Sergachev Traded

    Still hope for
Michael McCarron probably a 3c but could be a 2c if Jesus helps
Mikhail Sherbak kid does look sick
     Noah Juulsen people like

    On Montreal
    Galchenyuk for now
Arrthuri Lehkonen looks good as a 2nd liner

Since Lefebvre took over the AHL team (with Beaulieu gone) we have NO players who have made the transition.

Our only two prospects since the 08 draft both skipped/ignored AHL.

  3. Drouin could be complete dynamite and it won't do shit for our cup chances.

We have a God awful d core. We're still relying on a now even older Markov, a Beaulieu who has not displayed offensive creativity and continues to give the weakest giveaways I've seen on our lineup. Weber still will be strong but he has no partner. Hoping go God Petry can find it in himself to become a credible 2. The lack of breakout passes hurt my eyes... maybe drouin can carry it out?

Oh and we are banking on danault being great again... otherwise we don't have a two way center to help them.

Positives: Gallagher should be better, love Lehkonen, if we keep Radulove... him and Drouin will make hockey exciting to watch. We also have the best goalie in the world... if they take away the trapezoid he can be our breakout pass :D

(We better be getting a wicked two way center or ,preferable a Dman who can move andnpass)

  4. Got to head down to the Mile One for the first game of the head to header!

Charlie Lingren was insane. Made some absolutely ridiculous saves, really quick laterally in the net and made some beautiful glove saves. Really showed that extra effort to make the saves.

Scherbak looks like the real deal. He is such a smooth skater and a wicked puck handler. Made some nasty moves out there. Defensively he made the wrong read a few times but his head is always on a swivel. He knew were everyone was on both sides of the ice, defensively he just made the wrong decision. In my mind that is coachable. Also they need to get him playing with talented wingers. He had some beautiful setups that went to not because his linemates can't shoot. He made a few beautiful centering passes as well but for somereason no one was there... needs some more talented linemates bad.

Hudon has a hell of a shot on him. Saw him going into corners a bit and carry the puck with some success. He isn't blazing fast or anything but doesn't particularly look slow either. A few quick passes as well. Overall looked pretty solid.

De la Rose got first star... his line would have had ridiculous possession numbers. They were brilliant on the forecheck. side note: Friberg is a workhorse man! He never gave up on anything, generally a ton of fun to watch.

For defenseman two people stood out in particular

Lernout was by far the best d-man out there for the Icecaps. Played sound defensively, physical, good outlet passes and has a beast of a shot. Really liked what I saw there.

Johnston on the other had was so god damn awful it was hard to watch. Possession black hole for sure... he was knocked off the puck so many times. If I was Lingren I'd want his skin.. the quality scoring chances that came off Johnston existing were brutal. He should have had the primary assist on one of Hersey's goals for sure... If Lingren wasn't playing out of his mind after the first Johnston would easily have been a -3 or -4.

I guess I should mention that Didier was fun to watch. Really physical and gritty guy.

  5. I really think a LD with offensive upside would benefit our offense more than a 2C.

Our transition is utterly horrid right now and we get stuck in our own zone because we have no defensemen who can consistently skate the puck out of trouble.

I'd rather put hope in one of Danault, Pleks or DD getting hot at the right time than put hope in one of Beaulieu, Emelin, Petry, or a 38 year old Markov to step up to a puck moving #2 by playoffs.

    Someone - Weber

    Emelin - Petry

    Markov - Pateryn

    Beaulieu

    I'd feel so much safer...

Edit: Though there is no way in hell we get a #2 d-man at trade deadline day. Cannot imagine a world where we do.

Man, this was the first game I've seen in Montreal in 15 years, and they have to lay an egg like that.

Weber was pure garbage. Petry was worse. In fact the only d-man who looked good was Markov. DON will hate this, but last night at least they really, really missed Subban's ability to move the puck and lead the rush. If that blueline does not stabilize, we will need to make a major move.

Galchenyuk slowly evaporated after the first...not sure what's up there.

What I saw was a team relying way too heavily on a washed up Plekanec and a 38-year-old Markov. Hopefully, having a few actual practices with the new coach will start to yield improvement, because that team last night looked nothing like a club with a legitimate chance to contend.

This has been the major issue I've seen with the habs this year.

It seemed to me that, at least in this game, we were relying on Plekanec to come back and try to skate the puck up... not sure that is the solution.

Hopefully strats change or a player changes.

Emelin needs more help from the forwards. If there is three winnipeg players between him inside the d zone and his teammate forwards at the red line its a bit hard squeezing the puck through without getting an icing call against...

like that last shift pleky is also helping in own zone makes is alot easier to find a good passing lane.

Maybe I am seeing it wrong... I dont know but I dont think Emelin has played that bad so far.

Our whole breakout has been trash for a long time.

I know everyone is clamoring for a center but we really need an actual puck moving d-man who can play top minutes with Weber... that would help our offense out so much.
