    but is it possible that they just aren't that good at it?

    Putting the pressure on them to be better at draws could just work.

    Gomez isn't producing and if having him play wing will get us more goals I think DD and Eller can get a bit better at faceoffs with a little extra attention given to it.

    Yeah, I don't know that they want Gomez right now... too much salary for Phoenix.

    Maybe next year though, if they stay in Phoenix since his cap hit will be greater than his actual salary in the last 2 years of the contract... It could help them reach the floor.

    Yeah maybe next year, but if Phoenix is around that long without real ownership I'll be surprised.

    I think you could add Turris if you wanted to move AK46.

    I think Turris will take less than 4 million if he's traded. The 4 million was always an unrealistic demand for the purpose of being traded.

    I wouldn't trade AK for him. AK shouldn't go we need his size. If we could ditch Gomer on them for Turris, thats the only way I think Montreal could/should make a move.

    Exactly what you are saying is the logic I am trying to get past. You can't make the comparison about tanking in the NHL to tanking in MLB at the end of season. Tanking is a buzz word that takes on a bad aroma but the effects would be quite different in the two sports. I site the length of schedule, the number of draft rounds,the number of teams in the playoffs as contributing factors that make a difference. I also think that bring in fresh people in Sept may in some cases be a boone .

    I do not follow baseball at all. I do not get it, doesn't appeal to me.

    But, starting an all rookie team that gets butchered by everyone is a sure way to... well... not have fans in the stands no?

    No, things are more controversial when you don't explain.

    That leaves room for interpretation.

    Like now the belief that because Mystic doesn't agree with anarchy... he is obviously a fascist.

    and because he thinks atheism sucks he must be a member of the Westboro Baptist Church (the one that protested at all them funerals)

    I think you're tied to a long since vanished idea of what 'Bottom 6' means. When you play best on best, essentially your 3rd line just has to be more talented than the other team's 3rd or 4th line. Desharnais can't go head to head with Malkin/Crosby, or even head to head with like, Brandon Sutter, and come out on top. But he can go head to head with guys like Bozak, or Artem Anisimov, or Stephane Da Costa. Plekanec's job is to take on Crosby and other top centres. Eller's job will eventually be to take on the Matthew Lombardi's and Brandon Sutter's of the NHL (what Gomez does currently). Desharnais should be able to be our 3rd centre.

    DD is a great third line center, for our type of line up. We have 3 scoring lines when healthy. DD is an excellent depth guy.
