  1. Full NTC for the balance of the deal as far as I know. Not a NMC though so he could be 'Redden'd' years from now.

His contract drops off in the later years when he would be a back up I think he is only paid 1 mill in the last two years

  2. So Steve Bernier goes to the Devils' camp on a tryout after overpricing himself in the offseason. He does reasonably well as he was offered a two-way deal. Thinking he could do better, he declines. After evidently overestimating his own worth again, today he signed a minor league deal with New Jersey's AHL affiliate after failing to secure even a two-way deal let alone a one way pact. This, of course, after being bought out a few months ago. Now that's a fall from grace...

    :bonk:

  3. He has a reasonable cap hit, but a ludicrous contract length that makes him un-tradeable. But I'd love to trade him, promote Eddie Lack to the backup position and use the money to get a legitimate winger for Booth and Kesler. I love Hodgson, but every year I get more and more disappointed with him.

Doesn't Lu have some kind of no trade clause worked into his contract?

  4. I think the pressure placed on him is just crazy. But he is so frustrating to watch sometimes. He could be the best in the league, if he had some consistency. I also like Schneider and would gladly have him as our starter, but Lu is here to stay. Through the good and bad.

I think Lu would be the best in the league in another city where he doesn't have all the pressure on him, because honestly, all of the pressure of Vancouver is virtually on Luongo.

  5. FYI, I am a Vancouver fan.

Haha! I am in Vancouver right now and all I hear is Lu haters going on and on about how they should be playing Schneider :P

Honestly, I think I have come to the defense of the guy more then any Canucks fun I have met :P

  6. Do you want Emelin to go back to Russia? Well you better find a spot for him. Can any of those boys mentioned play defense? Only Gill, who is the right size but can't skate. I'm looking for a Byfuglian clone, someone who can cause all kinds of grief in front of net if he isn't playing defense.

Why is it important to have a big d man who can play offensively? Most our d are offensive and if we have like 3 or 4 guys up front that can sit in front of the net... why move a d man up there? Especially Emelin who hasn't been all that great and needs more seasoning as a defencemen?

  7. Good analysis. With the PP situation still unclarified in the short term, I think it'd be unwise to move Weber - who is also much younger than Diaz and presumably has a higher ceiling (although I'm not sure about that). Who knows, we may yet see Weber really step up and become the impact power-play guy this team needs. And the Habs generally only give up on guys around their mid-20s. That being said, the only untouchables on this team are Price, Wolverine, and Subban. If you get a deal for Weber that makes sense, take it.

I agree, I think it will be important to hold onto Weber and Diaz this season and see which one develops more.

  8. Playoff hockey in October!!!

back to back with the bruins and were both tied with 6 points!!!

redemption could be oh so sweet for max patches and our Habs......

    HAT TRICK TIME BABY!

Love the pic of the Bruins! That should be the only image of Boston allowed on this site going forward. ;)

+ 1 (i plus'd the comment to with the green arrow, this is double approved!)

  9. I think the goat also told the penguin to use Cole more, otherwise, there was no explanation for the sudden increase in the use of Cole. until the last 2 seconds of the first, i thought we were done, but getting that goal at the end really turned the game around.

Still think the penguin needs to go though. Worst player tonight, was one of the Penguin's supporters - Gill. I really liked Weber and Diaz getting shots through. Hopefully part of the goat's message was to give the kids more of a chance. IMO all of the kids, along with Cole looked great tonight and that was the big difference.

I do not know if anyone else notices this, but every time there is a scrum Weber always seems to be the first to charge into it.

  10. Indeed. My hope is that we catch these good teams off guard and win 3 str8.

Was Pearn in charge of the Power Play ? The PP guy should be the one to go.

Pearn was running the power play (or he did last year anyway) and I am really hoping we can jump these teams (I also hate boston and philly more then anyone else! haha)

  11. I'm hoping that the show's success will inspire him to write faster (3 years per book?). At the end of the fifth book, the series is pretty well set up for a lot to happen in a relatively short amount of time. I think it's still possible to end the series in two books. I think he's got about a decade before he starts going senile.

Course... he could just kick the can like Robert Jordan (i know its his phantom writer name), author of The Wheel of Time Series, and we would have some friend of his finish the series.
