Very constructive post. Thought provoking, really showed you considered the rule from a general perspective as opposed to the rule's effect on your team only.
Not to mention, NO ONE was beating the staff rule. No one mentioned it in any other reply. BTH even said "this is what the staff rule is going to be". He was not inviting discussion.
Saying this is dumb and that is dumb is useless unless you have a reason for it, or at the very least your own alternative for a rule that is fairer for everyone. There was nothing close to dumb in this thread until you posted in it. Well done.
I usually keep my trap shut, but if your response to the new Commish's first post, which is an attempt to give everyone the "Low Down" with what's going on, is to call his points dumb? Then I'm going to say something.

Limiting "Superscouts" and making "normal" scouts unlimited is dumb.
Limiting AHL coaching attributes to 80 or under is also dumb.
All the staff and coaching have been available to each team at some point, in fact ALL of my coaching and Staff was signed during my first year, as UFA's, during the season. For those that lost out.... too bad, pay attention. No different then any player UFA.

Not sure why entirely but this really appealed to me. Brule can play in other roles that Major cannot and this gives me the flexability I will need as soon as next year.

Really? Lapierre's game? What game is that? he doesn't hit, he doesn't score, he doesn't kill penalties, he doesn't fight, He isn't a shut down guy. He is good at talking, He does have good speed, there is no reason he shouldn't play like Amstrong in Atlanta. Until that happens, i beleive he is the #12 forward.
Bomb the ice, i wouldn't be so worried about the turnover, They lost Lats and Chipchura. combined i beleive they were minus 15 and had like 5 points or something. I'm not sure what the loss is.
Like it or not, Martin is finding out who can play and who can't. I believe the message is produce or you won't be around. I'm ok with that message.
I thought the "when he's on" line cleared up any confusion to what you see on the ice at the moment

I am also guessing this isn't the last guy heading out. There are several D men who aren't doing anything, they can be moved. Lapierre, he may be next. He had no PK time last night, not even 10 minutes of ice time i believe.
I really hope your wrong there. I love Lapierre's game and when he's on I want him doing that on my team not against them.

Not entirely sure but open to suggestions.
Maybe get a D-man or Goaltender that I will be looking for in the offseason

Terrible call on Mara late in the game... I think the Washington player deserved the penalty. but overall happy considering the game was destined to be a blowout early on.
Max Pac is one small step from breaking out into the player we think he can be, what a performance.

Why in the world would anyone trade for a player that is going to leave us for nothing???
Most people have realised Sergei has NO trade value right now...Cogliano is still a young player with a lot of upside.
Akost and Cogliano are probably valued pretty closely...maybe, MAYBE an edge to Akost.
I suspect Kostsytsin has had more PP time and their point totals are still within 10% of each other in each year.
Really, all that happens when I view Kosty's performance is that I get disappointed at his development. He could have been as good as Kopitar...
I know some habs fans are guilty of over valuing the prospects but you are guilty of undervaluing them.
SK is a bum and Cogliano is a young guy with potential and upside?
