Too early to give up on Theodore i think. We need to be a bit more patient, it's hard, but he deserves at least one more season before we can pass judgement on him. If he pulls the same no-show next playoffs then i'll probably jump on the bandwagon, but until then i want Theo on the team.

Good game by Ottawa tonight, they were actually able to beat Belfour and have the momentum heading back to Toronto.
GO SENS! Beat the Leafs!

Gotta wonder how things would look now if O'Neill-Koivu-Kovy was our first line
Well if you ignore the fact that O'neill had season ending surgery, it would still not look any different. Theodore would still be playing much worse than he can, and that's the main thing. O'neill would not thave made any difference for this team, we simply haven't capitalized on our opportunities as a team and Theodore has let us down with soft goals (while looking great at times). Aquiring a guy who scored 14 goals on over 200 shots would not make the difference in this series.

We gotta get this one and then it is a best of 3 heading back to Boston. We lose and it will take a Wild-esque comeback to win the series.

Wouldn't anyone else rather see Perreault's faceoff ability in the lineup compared to Langdon? Koivu got smoked in the circle against Green at the end and it could have cost us the game.
-
Julien needs to wake up and put Perreault in the lineup next game, Green was killing Koivu on faceoffs and we are lucky it didn't cost us.
But we won and that's the main thing. Now if we can get a win on tuesday we will have a whole new series!

Very weak goal by Theo, i don't know what to say right now, i am absolutely devastated. It will take a small miracle at this point for the Habs.
-
If Kovalev wants to be a habs next season, there is no time like the present to start producing. I like the changes, now it is up to the players to produce.

Not the way i wanted the Habs to play, they just didn't compete hard enough tonight, especially in that horrible first.
We gotta come out strong in Game 2 because if we head back to Montreal down 2-0, it could be lights out.

Terrell Davis is not the best ever, not even close. When you talk about Denver you are talking about a team that made Mike Anderson and Olandis Gary look like superstars. Davis was better than those two, but he is not the greatest ever by a longshot. I don't think Portis will do nearly as good as a member of the Redskins, he is another product of the Denver running game.
Next season it is all about the Minnesota Vikings and the best WR in the game Randy Moss. (don't bring up the last game of the season please, i still haven't recovered)

I also think that Perreault should be playing in the playoffs. We will need his faceoff ability and if he can get hot he will be a real good player for us in the postseason. He seems to have a knack for scoring big goals too. I wouldn't mind seeing the Perreault-Koivu-Zednik line back.
Thornton is banged up considerably, we need to punish him at every chance we get if/when he gets back in the lineup. I'm sure Begin wouldn't mind getting a little revenge for the cheap shot Thornton gave him last week.
Can't wait for game 1!

A Montreal/Toronto series would be sweet, even though the pressure would be enourmous on habs fans like myself living the Toronto region, it would be incredible to beat them out. Either way we get a nice rivalry in the first round, and then most likely Tampa in the second round if we get that far (i don't give NYI much of a chance but i'll eat my words if i'm wrong.)

This should helps us out considerably with our confidence issues. 6 goals gets us right back on track and while a win wasn't vital for tonight, it certainly helps. We should come out strong in game 1, i can't wait.

2-0 final for the Flyers, Habs didn't play too well after the Flyers took the 2-0 advantage but i think this was a positive sign. Flyers had lots of time to prepare for us and we still outplayed them (imo). We should be fine come game 1, a win against Buffalo would be nice also.
-
I think this has been a very well played game for the Habs so far tonight. Lots of chances and i can't believe we haven't scored yet but it will come. The refs have been pretty bad if you ask me, I don't know how Brashear didn't get a penalty and then Kovalev does. Ryder was hooked and held quite well by Desjardins on a good chance but still nothing.
Hopefully we can pull it out in the third. Burke has been unbelievable.

I disagree. These final regular season games are meaningless to the habs, 2 years ago before the playoffs we lost our final 2 games, yet we went onto upset the #1 seed.
I agree with this. These games don't mean a thing for the Habs, we have all but locked up where we will finish (8th wouldn't be that bad if it came to that). The first game for the playoffs is what matters right now. Yeah some momentum would be a nice thing, but our season is definetely not on the line tomorrow night against Philly, nor will the outcome really matter in the grand scheme of things.
-
Definetely not a good sign to see Hainsey and Hossa with such bad performances.
Nice article though :/)
At least we came back with a 3-0 win on Sunday though, Danis had a 22 save shutout

It's nice to clinch a playoff spot but this wasn't a great game by the Habs tonight, way too many chances given for the Bs.
Now it is time to get it going in the last 3 games of the season and hopefully regain some momentum prior to the playoffs. I think it is important to go into the playoffs on a high note, although we lost 2 games down the stretch in 2002 and still came out strong so who knows.

Well Kovalev hasn't really met expectations for me so far, but give him some time. I just wonder if he would have all this bashing if a few of his shots hadn't of hit the post and had been goals. He is a great player and i still have confidence that he will turn it around. Now let's secure a playoff spot and move onwards.

The roll continues, another good win, although they had me worried at the end there. Kind of nice to see Souray control his emotions and not drop his gloves there.
At the end of the game Bulis was playing with Zed and Koivu and Ryder took his spot on the Ribeiro line with Kovy.
As much as i'd like to have Ryder on the third line and being able to have 4 dangerous scoring lines, i don't think that Dagenais will let that happen, he hasn't produced anything so far and he is running out of chances to prove himself right now.
-
Pretty entertaining game considering it was against the usually boring Devils. I was sure that the Devils were gonna score on those two chances at the end of OT, i dunno how they stayed out.
I'm not a huge Dags fan right now, that line seemed to be all Kovalev and Ribs and Dags just didn't seem to be pulling his wait IMO.
Nice to see Souray back in the lineup
Let's pick up 2 points tomorrow

Easy there, let's not get ahead of ourselves. Yes we have a shot, but so do the 15 other teams that are in the playoffs, anything can happen.
The playoffs are so wide open this year, i can see every team in the east making the finals except maybe the Isles. It is just so tight it is gonna be very interesting to watch, I can't wait!
