  1. This really has been a great off-season for the Als. We lost Belli and Woodcock, but we barely had Woodcock last year anyway. We got the best 2 WRs in the league (arguably) and the best QB in the league (arguably). Should be another great year.

  2. I can't believe Burns can complain about the refs, Habs easily could have had 3 other PPs on blatant trips/hooks.

Another exciting win, this game was very good considering what i thought was coming when you play the Devils. Only 2 back of the Devils for 6th!

    :ghg:

  3. An extremely boring game, even the OT was boring until we scored, but I'll take it! Ribs makes up for another perfect Markov setup that he missed in the first by making no mistake this time. Great game by Markov overall, two perfect setups for Ribs.

4 points from NJ, 11 up on Buffalo, things are looking good.

  4. Habs aren't playing too bad, a few bad shifts in the second but overall we have probably controlled the play. We got a PP coming up in the second, hopefully we can solve Weekes early on and then hang on for the win.

Buffalo is trailing 4-1 against the Sens tonight. Devils down 3-0 to Toronto.

  5. Tonight could go a long way to sinking the Sabres for good. A Habs win and a Buffalo loss might just do it.

Buffalo is in Ottawa so a loss would be the most likely outcome, but we'll see. An 11 point lead would be about where we were before the losing streak last week.

Hopefully Zed finally gets a goal, God knows he's had his chances the past couple of games.

  6. That goal kills me. A pretty good period by the Habs, and now we have to come from behind thanks to a bad play by Dykhuis. You got 20 seconds left in the period, all you have to do is make sure you don't cough it up, don't try anything fancy just get it down the ice.

    :puke::puke::puke:

Hopefully we get it back in the third.

    :ghg:

  7. Ugh, Komisarek just can't make any real progression. One blatent giveaway and another new miss already.

We can't afford to take 2 penalties per period, the second one was pretty questionable but the more chances we give the Sens on the PP, the worse off we will be.

Zednik is snake bitten right now, he is getting great chances, just can't finish them.

    :ghg:

  8. I was pretty nervous in the middle of the second, looked like the Rangers were right back in the game, but Brisebois helped end that for the time being, ever since he got his first one, he has been playing great offensively.

Man the fans are completely fed up with the Rangers in NY, can't blame them though.

    :ghg:

  9. Oh, and if Don Cherry can defend Saku; why can't Bob?

Well Gainey already did that, i think if he keeps it up it is going to get redundant and be rendered less meaningful every time. Someone that all habs fans respect will have to come out and do something, or anyone that is respected on the team.

  10. Wow i knew it was bloody fight but i didn't think it was that bad.

I definetely agree though Puck, this game means everything to Toronto habs fans, but it really shouldn't be bigger than any other game from Montreal habs fans.

When the Habs play the Leafs, i usually have some Leaf fans over and the next monday is always pretty bad if the Habs lose. There is a lot of pressure for the Toronto habs fan, in Montreal you don't have to hear all the ribbing and media.

I am proud of the way our team played tonight, we came out flat, but we didn't give up. We should have been tied as far as I'm concerned, that whistle was crap. I can hold my head high on Monday though when all the Leaf fans brag because it was a hard fought game that really could have gone either way in the end.

  11. man leafs would be going all out in a deal like that. Kolzig might not even be important for them if Belfour ends up playing. I really don't think Gonchar is the type of player that would put them over the top. McCabe and Kaberle can provide lots of offense as it is, why get another top notch offensive d man?

  12. I agree puck, disgraceful to not get a goal in that situation, how much do we expect the refs to help us out with penalty calls? The Habs better play disciplined hockey the rest of the way because the refs are gonna be looking for a penalty.

We'd better come out strong and play that way the rest of the game or this will be our 4th straight loss.

  13. When your goalie lets in soft goals like what Theo did tonight the whole team loses confidence. The players expect Theo to make those saves, and facing a tough enough task as it is against the Sens, you can't have one of the best goalies in the league letting in shots like that. Everyone knew it was gonna be a tough game to win or even tie, and that was with Theo playing as his usual self.

Jose deserves the most blame for the game tonight, not to say other people weren't at fault.

  14. Habs came out pretty good, but after about 5-7 minutes the Sens started to take control. Theo definetely should have stopped that shot from Chara, no matter how good of a shot it was.

A point or two would be great tonight, but i'm trying not to expect anything. Just gotta hope the leafs win (can't believe i'm saying it.)

  15. Horrible, horrible third period. Begin had two penalties that cost us goals tonight i believe, bad game from Ribs too.

It can't get much worse than what we saw in the third. Ottawa is going to be tough to beat, but we need to do something on saturday because another effort like what we had in the third tonight is unacceptable.
