Man playing the Devils is brutal watch. Habs are playing pretty bad so far, but this is boring hockey at it's finest. So few chances on both ends, it's basically a soccer match out there.

It's "official"! Anson Carter should be going the other way.

Yet another headcase for the Rangers!

Sens almost blew it tonight against the Pens. They were up 6-5 with 5 seconds left and the Pens hit the post with time running out.

Cahoon might not be back with the Als next year. Apparently he might look to sign on with an Alberta team.

This would be a loss, but we are very deep at Receiver so it wouldn't kill us neccesarily.

We can do that easily , we can do better then that.Hey Puck, you basically just described my Minnesota Vikings season. I wouldn't be counting on the Habs being in the playoffs yet, i have learnt that much over the past month. We have a wonderful chance to make it in, but there is still a lot of work to be done.

Well not a horrible set of games this weekend but there certainly wasn't the excitement that the divisional round had.
Carolina and New England in the Super Bowl. I'm going with the Panthers. Should be a defensive struggle and i think that the Panthers will be the hungrier team in the end and they will come out on top.

I agree about Brodeur. How many shots a game does he face? 15? Theodore is having the better season so far.
As far as Ribs making it, i doubt he would even if he deserved it. He is making a late charge though, so i guess it could happen.
When do they announce the reserves anyway? Is it Thursday?
-
Habs PP with one minute to go in OT. Wouldn't it be a good idea to pull Theodore in situations like this? We're already guaranteed one point, and if the Rangers would score in open net, they would only be one point closer to us - we are still 7 pts ahead.
If you pull your goalie and get scored on in OT, then you don't get that point.
Plus we don't really want to give the Rangers a chance at a free point, i know they aren't that close to us now, but there's a lot of hockey left to be played so we could still end up battling with them for positioning.
As far as the game goes, we are definetely lucky to come out with one point, but with how we played in OT i was sure we were going to get the extra one. Oh well, i guess we stole a point tonight.

Careless giveaway at the end of the period almost cost us. Koivu won't make that mistake again, he's got to be kicking himself right now. Nedved just hit the post to give the Habs the 1 goal lead.
We did come out pretty flat, i don't know what happened on that one rush by the Rangers but it was ugly. Very fortunate to have the lead.

I have to wonder why everyone wants a huge overhaul in the lineup when we have won 6 of 7 games? The top two lines are working right now, why mess with them?
-
It's a bit late, but how about the games last weekend? All four were decided by 7 points or less, with two going into overtime. The Rams-Panthers game was probably my favourite, double OT game with so many different opportunities for each team to win the game. Incredible weekend of Football.

Good Habs win, brutal scheduling but we won nonetheless.
Man how many 2 on 1s/breakaways has Ward had in the past 2 games? And he hasn't finished on any of them. Habs had two excellent breakaway chances to end the game but they decided to make it interesting.
A win is a win. We recovered nicely after a brutal start.
-
Hainsey would probably be the most likely callup, although wouldn't Bouillon have been handed down his suspension by now? JR got his earlier today from a game last night so Bouillon probably would have already received his.
-
Wow the Habs are on fire! 13 goals in the past 2 games, we are an offensive juggernaut!
That's of course an exaggeration, but nonetheless the Habs are scoring at a torrent pace right now, we can only hope it continues.
-
so 14-0 for Canadiens affiliated teams yesterday?
-
I picked a helluva game to travel 400+km to go see!
Mario Lemieux bobbleheads and a Habs blowout victory, can't ask for much else even if you two somehow see this is a step backwards.
I know the Pens stink, but this team beat the devils this week and hung with the Bruins, maybe give the Habs a little bit of credit for an 8-0 victory?
-
The only consolation is that the Habs do play the Pens next (i'll be there :/) ) and that we have a golden opportunity to regain the momentum that we had prior to these last 5 periods. Of course, if we don't play a good game in Pitt, it could get ugly.
-
For this i will agree with Puck. Theodore has been as good as he was in 2001-2002, but we haven't needed him to be in perfect form to win on any given night. We are a much more complete team in front of Theo than we were in 01-02, i think that's a given.
-
I still disagree. We did dominate the play for the first 55 minutes, but closing out games is a big part of hockey and we just didn't get the job done that night.
-
We only deserved to lose ONE of our last 22 games
Well i think that we deserved to lose all those games except the Toronto one because that was a total fluke.
On the flip side of all this, take a look at what Edmonton has done since that outdoor game, it isn't pretty.
-
Empty Netter by Ribs makes it a 3-1 final. Great First period, horrible second period and an average 3rd. This looked a lot like the Florida game, except tonight Theodore came up huge and held onto the lead almost single handedly.
Tampa and NYI lose, so that helps us out a lot.
-
2-0 Habs after 2. Tremendous opening period followed by a poor second frame. If we want to win this game we have to get back to first period form, because we got dominated in the second.
Dagenais and Koivu with the goals in the first, Habs hung on in the second to keep the 2 goal lead, but it wasn't pretty.

I still enjoy the Sunday double header of the NFC and AFC championship games. The Super Bowl isn't as exciting, but if it is a good one, nothing beats it in my opinion. Yeah the sponsors diminish the game, but what can you do?
As for College, i find it a bit of a joke. Is tonight the nation championship game? Who is the best team? It could be the winner of the Sugar Bowl or USC, but it could also be a number of other teams such as Ohio State. The fact is, College football only gives a select few teams a chance to even make it into the BCS. Small colleges like Miami of Ohio and Texas Christian aren't even given a chance, no matter what they do. (Miami (Ohio) had just 1 loss, they don't even get a BCS bid, let alone a chance at the nation championship, TCU loses two games and they are neglected to the Fort Worth Bowl.
Until College gets a decent playoff system that gives every team a chance to win (like pro sports), it will be considered a joke in my opinion no matter what you say about the rivalries and the enthousiasm.

Finally the Habs get back to back wins, 4-1 final. Ryder has his first career two goal game and added an assist to take over the rookie scoring lead.
Habs are playing really well as of late, and they have finally managed to string together consecutive wins. Let's keep it going against Buffalo on Tuesday night.

A win tonight would be huge against division-rival Toronto. I especially want to win so i can brag to my Leaf-loving friends.
