At least that's one thing that is right with hockey, the biggest game(s) of the year are not played in front of a neutral crowd in some neutral location.

While i think that is a pretty good point to an extent, i just don't think the NFL could have a system like that. Home field means quite a bit and it just wouldn't seem fair to have the deciding game decided on someone else's home field. I would like to see them rotate the location to places all over the U.S. Right now it's usually New Orleans or Miami that ends up getting it, they should spread it around fairly.

I don't follow College Sports at all. Maybe if they actually had a playoff so we know who is actually the top team in the country, then i might follow it. Right now it's a joke in my opinion.
-
Just wondering who is going to be doing the game recaps. I could be part of a joint contribution if that was the case...
-
I missed the Habs 2 goals, but the play seemed pretty intense. I was sure we were going to blow it at the end, but we hung on nicely, even if it wasn't the most conventional way to win the game.
-
Yeah a closer and another SP would be great, i'm not sure what the budget is like though, I think the most likely option is that Minaya will try to find a diamond in the rough, as you said.
If the closer situation becomes a problem, i think we can count on Omar for a deal come June.
Spos last year? They've been saying that for ages. I think every year it COULD be the Spos last year, let's hope we haven't used up all our 9 lives and that the Spos will be back for 2005 and beyond.

I still feel really bad for Audette , its not his fault he's playing like garbage and has no hands. Its the fault of the fluke injury he suffered. I remember when he played his first few games as a habs , he was playing like a superstar (yes , he was) getting about 10 shots a game and 1-3 points per game , always creating chances... I realize he probably wouldnt of kept up his high level of play had he not been injured , but he'd still be a decent player.
I know what you mean. I was at the Molson Centre (yes, Molson) when Audette was on fire, i think it lasted 4 games before the Habs curse set in.
Too bad for Donald, he always has the effort and is fully willing to stand up for his teamates on most occasions, he just doesn't have the wrist strength anymore.

Spos just signed Tony Batista to fill a hole at 3B. The lineup is looking really nice right now, i like it better than last year's.
-
Merry Christmas to both of you too, and a happy new year!
-
Unacceptable from Quintal and Rivet tonight, Quintal just isn't fast enough and Rivet has no confidence anymore. It might be too late for them to switch up their recent horrible play.
BTW i don't feel Bouillon had a bad game, he had a nice shot on the goal and he might have prevented a goal at the other end late in the game.
-
Certainly a worrisome start, but the Habs recovered nicely. Begin is out of the lineup again, but the Juneau line has been great so far and contributed a goal tonight. The other one was on the PP with Perreault finishing off a deflected Souray shot.
-
Not much you can say after that horrible game. I just can't wait till tomorrow's match to get this one out of my mind, just brutal.
-
I really think we need to rebound with a win here. We have some momentum going despite losing against Philly, a loss would end that momentum. Sounds sick, but im kind of sad to see Audette and Juneau back. If Audette is on a scoring line i am going to be extremely pissed off.
-
They had a couple of quick chances, but not sustained pressure. When we had a 2 minute powerplay towards the end of the game with the lead we had next to no offensive chances, except for a brief 5 second stint when Zed hit the post.
We should have been trying to put the game away in this situation, but if i remember correctly we had little to no offense on that PP. I think that's what got me most pissed off. Then Zednik takes a dumb penalty and it burns us. Like i said, Bulis covered up for the mistake on a soft goal.
But yeah, i agree it was a good effort tonight by the Habs, top line was getting great chances. Im not sure how we can give Bulis a more offensive role, but id love to see him on a scoring line, there just isnt any room. This is where i think we need a trade...
-
Well the habs pulled their typical sit-back-on-the-lead-get-burned-in-the-last-couple-of-minutes-style.
At least Bulis managed to squeak in a soft goal at the end to win it and i think the Habs played pretty good for the most part, however we sat back on the lead and it almost killed us again...
-
Well i dont think Hainsey is a bust, yet. I certainly expected more out of him by now, but he certainly has time to pick up the pace and get back on track.
-
Pretty disappointing to lose it in the 3rd period. Rivet took a penalty, the announcers seemed to think it was a bad call, it's pretty debatable. Rivet should have been more careful though. Panthers then had a two man advantage with the extra attacker and finally beat Theo.
Rivet received a ton of boos for the rest of the game.
-
I dont think we played overly well too. Got dominated and played very poor defense, we are just fortunate that most of our chances were ending up in the back of the net.
Komi played very well IMO, was extremely physical in the corners, had to take one penalty late in the period when his man beat him, but other than that a pretty solid game for him.
-
Woohoo!
3-1 Habs after 1. Bulis, Dagenais and Ryder with the goals.
-
I personally thought Bouillon had a great game. Made a few nice hits, created some scoring chances and stood up for Theo when Sedin charged at the net (i know it was only Sedin, but hey, it's a start!) Bouillon played with the most heart of any habs last night for sure.

I'd like to write more often for HW, whatever you want to assign to me ill be fine to do. I can't see myself writing more than 2 articles per week and im gonna be pretty busy over Christmas, but other than that, ill contribute in any way i can.
-
Woohoo! 4-3 Habs victory!
Zednik and Perreault with two goals apiece.
-
2-1 Habs after 2. Putting Rivet in front of the net on the PP seems to be working out, another PP goal down low.
I'm loving this, i hope this starts a trend and we see more outdoor games because this is great.
-
Well The Habs dominated the MegaStars game but Edmonton got great goaltending. Hopefully we come away with the win in the real game tonight.
-
Woohoo! The day is finally here! Only 4 hours till MegaStars game!
I think the Habs might be able to pull of an upset in the megastars game, but the Oil are still the favourites.
Should be an amazing day for hockey.

Good game by the Habs today, needless to say when you win 5-1, but it was a great effort by all.
Loved the chippiness in the third period, can't wait for the next game in 10 days. NHL needs to schedule even more home and homes next year because they are so rough no matter who's playing.
Kovalchuk looked awesome today, played well defensively too. Had tons of chances but Theo was up to the task evey time. He's playing just as good as he was back in 2001-2002 when he was the MVP of the league.
I like these afternoon games you know, i woke up at 12 and the game was on in a couple of hours.
