  1. My point is the dregs that are available in the draft aren't guys that aren't expensive to acquire. A 3rd maybe, more likely 4ths or 5ths. And we all know any pick below the 2nd round is virtually useless (outisde of AHL players).

But hey more power to you, if you want to scout Tomas Pock and Todd Harvey and want to take either from me so they can sit on your bench costing 1.5mil, getting into 3 games and going -6 with 1 point in the process for the "just in case" be my guest.

Basically my point is this is a very unessecary event in the HWL calendar. As it was in the NHL, and thus disposed of in the NHL. I'm not going to be an ass and force my will on everyone, becasue frankly I don't really care about it one way or the other and the majority will rule. I'm just saying if I had a vote it would be to get rid of it.

    ^_^

  2. To Minnesota:

Todd Harvey CON? (I'm at work)

    To Boston:

    MIN 4th 2012

Just getting rid of guy that is available in the waiver draft, getting something for nothing. Plus it opens up a little more room for the Thornton extension.

  3. Honstly I see the waiver draft more as a waste of time. If the better teams want some depth I'm sure they could offer lower picks and get said players.

I know I'd vote to get rid of this waste of time waiver draft.

  4. I think I must have corrupted something. I had the game opened twice. One I was simming myself, the other I had the computer simming. I started to notice that I was getting news bulletins that were happening in the computer sim showing up in my sim. Since then I've had problems. You wouldn't have any idea how I could fix it? Maybe uninstalling and reinstalling the game.

  5. Hey I don't know if anyone has noticed, or if its just me.

I've been simming ahead a little bit lately, and when I get to about January 20th (or so) next season I get the dreaded Run Time 6. Is everyone getting this or is it just me?

  7. Oops, I forgot to send my info in too. :( Sorry.

With the chages I made I feel I'll have a better record than that. I feel I got the best player in all my deals which should lead to a big improvement. But, I've been wrong many other times, so you never know.

    Great job!!

  8. The Oilers and Eskimos used to have a carnival type thing together every year where you could go around and play mini games like shooting pucks at Grant Fuhr (scored on him  ) and get a ton of autographs. The first time I went I was about 10 and my Mom made me wear a tie (I know).

Anyway, the highlight for me was getting my pic taken with the Stanley Cup, the Grey Cup, some Eskimos, and my favourite player of all time, Mark Messier. After the picture was taken he looked down at my tie and commented at how good I looked. Suddenly the fact that my Mom made me look like a dork didn't matter anymore.

  9. Unfortunetly I haven't been to many playoff games. By the time I was old enough to go by myself or with some regularity the Oilers sucked!!! But one of the favourite games I went to was Guy Lafleurs last game in Edmonton. To see a legend for the last time was amazing. Everyone shouting out GUUUUYYYYY evertime he touched the pucked was spine tingeling.

And Rob. I can't tell you how lucky you are to have seen the Stanley Cup presented. I can't imagine how amazing that would be. That is one of my goals in my life.

  10. Hence the appology, lol. I only play players w/ an NHL future during pre-season.. :P

I was too, they are just a LONG way off from playing in the NHL. Cherapanov, Eller and Hamil are all under 55oa and they were my top line playing in all circumstances (if I remember correctly).

  11. Was the logo working before you tried this update? If you didn't already have it, it wasn't included with this update since KoZed only uploaded new logos. I uploaded a new file that has all the logos, so GMs who didn't already have the last update can get all the old logos we added.

That could be why. The logo hasn't been working ever since I got the new computer and I had to reload everything and I didn't bother with HWL updated farm logos.

  12. I tried to find the game sheet for ya but all I can find is an 8-7 win for the Oilers over the Kings on that date.

    Sorry

That must have been the score. Actually that score does sound right. I was only 6. ^_^

And I've never seen the Habs play. :(

  13. My first game was January 21, 1985, I had gotten the tickets for christmas. Oilers vs Kings. Going into the third the Oil were down 5-3 (I think, I can't find the game sheet anywhere). The final score was 8-7 Oilers. Good times back when they could turn it on at will and toyed with other teams. The other notable from that game, a lady a few rows up from me, got hit with a puck pretty hard and had to be taken away by medics. Amazing what a 6 year old notices.
