We may not like the lines...but I am up for trying anything. Obviously Kosty and the other lines were not winning either; they have to try something. I hope the habs win so everyone complaining about the lines can eat crow. That being said...I have been waiting for the habs to win since x-mas so I doubt that will be happening.
Question: If you were the Blues shut down line...which line would you match up against?, LOL

Whatever man....do you think this is good for anyone right now? We could be making a run for the playoffs, but instead we are getting EMBARASSED night after night. Have some pride.
And speaking of horseshit....I am sick of hearing about how Bob is such a genius for trading away our future or youth. I am certainly not suggesting that we should trade any core youth or blue-chippers.....but it is not horseshit as you suggest, that we could obtain a goalie with some experience and confidence without mortgaging the future.
We have youth, we have picks...sparing mid-round picks will NOT mortgage our future....I didnt say 5th rounders...but a 3rd and a mid-range prospect or 2 who will never score more than 10 goals...I could live without..Especially if it meant making the playoffs, and not getting embarrassed..
I'm glad you're happy with our goaltending situation right now, but I'm not. I think our standards are miles apart!!
Every year for the past 10 years I have always looked forward to the "kids". They are always so highly touted and we always expect them to develop into superstars. Well guess what, they never (or very rarely) do and we bank on the next group of prospects to take us to the promise land. I for one am sick of waiting for these guys to blossom. Get us some real talent while the rest of the league still thinks these guys are blue-chippers. Keep Komi, Higgins, Lats and Price and screw the rest.

I was worried in early january when everybody else was telling me to take things into perspective in spite of them losing a bunch of games to the cellar dwellers. Looks like they were actually better teams than the habs.

Saskin says that he wasn't the one monitoring e-mails. It was Goodenow. I would love to hear that it was Goodenow just to make Chelios and his bashers eat crow. Goodenow also completely ruined the PA.

Not sure exactly...but I think the team is still on the hook for 2/3 of his salary for the remainder of his contract. The 2/3 salary would count against the cap; but they save 1/3 of his current cap hit.

Both Toronto and Carolina passed the Habs in the standings tonight and both have played 2 fewer games. Not looking good.

If it weren't for the best Powerplay in the league...this team would be in last place.
-
Horrific defense today. Buffalo does the same set play almost everytime and the defense continually ignores the guy on the wing
-
Looks like they woke up. That SH goal against was a killer. Should be tied.

I have to say, I have questioned alot of Carbo's moves throughout the season and I'm starting to think that he's not doing a very good job.
I think the players have tuned him out. They seem ill-prepared and not fired up at all for most of the games.
I agree. I had a lot of high hopes for him but he has lost the dressing room (or so it appears). I also blame Gainey for not being proactive in the trade market when his team has been in a slump for 2 months.

Yet another brutal game by one of the worst teams (if not the worst) in the league since x-mas. The "kids" have been getting enough chances to prove their worth and they are just not impressing me. If the Habs do not get a few proven NHL'ers in the offseason and keep their own UFA's then I can't see it getting any better next year.

IF it is Maca's GF... then she is as much a stoner as he is.
Sigh, I miss those days.

Here is another translation. It is hard to follow but during the question period he explains that the coach doesn't seem to like their style of play. He uses Kostitsyn as an example because Milroy and Lapierre were given more opportunites. At least this is my understanding of the translation. Maybe Kovalev doesn't understand the importance of guys that are willing the get their nose dirty and go hard at the net...unlike his russian counterparts.

He was ahead of Rivet before Rivet got traded. Komisarek has been matched up aginst the other teams top line all season. The only reason Komis doesn't have more ice time is because he doesn't play the PP.
-
Bad news. The Isles and Canes are both winning their games.
-
So good one game and so terible the next.
This team is not a playoff team. Too many young players that are just not playing good enough. I am glad they are getting the experience but it means nothing if you lose.

Here is a full list of salaries and who is unsigned.

Back to the waivers topic.
There are no more waivers after the trade deadline. There is no movement of players from one NHL team to another. Anybody and their uncle can be demoted to the minors without being lost after today. As long as the NHL roster remains below the salary cap they can keep extra players on the team. Teams placed many guys on waivers yesterday for a couple reasons...either they were planning to be over the 23 man roster limit at 3pm today or they were trying to shed salary. Notice how Kostitsyn was recalled again today.
The Habs have the salary room to keep Leighton and others on the team.
If I am wrong please shed some light on the issue.

I am still trying to figure out who the Habs are looking at in Minnesota. They have been heavily scouting them and their farm team for a couple weeks now...including Assistant GM Gauthier. You have to wonder if Minny is interested in Souray?

Jason King and a 2nd in 07 to Chicago for Bryan Smolinski.
Godd job Nonis.
Let's see if it's finally official....
I may be wrong but that appears to be complete BS. It was reported on a Canucks fan site saying he got it from a Sportsnet text message...yet Sportsnet has nothing on their website.
also...very minor deal.
Senators acquire Nycholat for Hedlund

If he is traded and the habs are still looking to replace his offense then I would take a risk and claim Berard off waivers...or trade for Morris who is also available.
-
Trade him,
I love him on the powerplay but with the price so high for rentals (especially the best d-man available) they are crazy not to cash in.
I would not be surprised in the least if he doesn't make it to the end of the season with his bad shoulder.
-
Buffalo fans are willing to pay for Lindy's 10k fine.
I would be willing to chip in if it were the habs

I have to laugh...they showed a picture of the Senators Philips on the right but the guy they are refering to in the article owns a pizza shop.

Zednik traded to the Islanders...one of those teams the Habs are fighting with to get into the playoffs

Washington got a better pick than Habs got from them
When did we last blow someone out

It was against our fomer saviour. 8-5 win over Theodore. May not have been a blow-out but they did score 5 goals in the 3rd period to come back.
