  1. I am for it only because the demand is very high for him and the Habs could probaly get a very good prospect for him.

Souray has been playing with a bad shoulder all season (notice how he rarely takes a hit) and I am worried that he could get injured and out indefinitly. It seems to happen every season with this guy.

All that being said, if the Habs somehow turn things around in the next 10 days then it may be worth the gamble to keep him. If they continue to flounder then I say trade him.

  2. Agreed

So lets see who has been rumored to the habs so far.........

    Datsyuk

    Doan

    Nagy

    Forsberg

    Guerin

    Tkachuck

    Horcoff

    Marleau (unofficially I think )

    Smolinski

    Aucoin

    Have I missed anyone?

That pretty much sums it up....I have also read Bertuzzi. They will probably get Sturm instead :P

Another possibility is Laperierre out of Colorado....he doesn't provide much scoring but I would replace Murray with him any day. Heck I would even experiment with Allison...or Gelinas.

  3. I'd take Kovalev over about 3/4 of the rest of the forwards. This is awful for the Habs offence. Kovy may be underperforming but he is the teams 2nd most productive forward for a team desperate for offense. He was also the only guy that can carry the puck into the offensive zone and not lose it on the powerplay.

    This is terrible news.

  4. If Calgary's skid from the start of the season wasn't 7 weeks it was awful close. 7 weeks for the Habs is open for debate and based on ones opinion of when it actually started. Anaheim is 5-11-2 in the last 4-5 weeks ( 2-0 losers last night to the not so powerful Avs) not far off from the 7 weeks that you quote and this is with a healthy team for the last 3 games. Buffalo and Atlanta are also looking very normal now.

The point is that in the last 20 or so games the Sens and Flames ended the skid and played well enogh to sit where they do now ( with home ice) so without being a pessimist..... why can't the habs?

He is old time hockey for sure.

I have a hard time thinking that the habs would offer enough to gt him. i think some teams would sell the farm for this guy.

I've never wanted to be more wrong about it though.

Agreed, but the impact of his dressing room demeaner could be a bad thing. we did just rid ourselves of Ribs and theo for the same reason.

Does anyone know if his attitude is blown out of proportion or not?

LOL, I did not pull 7 weeks out of a hat. That is the horrible fact....wait a second. Taking another look it is almost 8 weeks.

Since December 23rd the team has 7 wins and 16 losses. Only 1 of those losses was in OT. That is no small slump.
