  1. Bob Mackenzie is saying that if the Habs send him to Hamilton you can bet he will stay there. The Habs will not recall him and risk having pay half his salary next year also.

I always thought the re-entry waivers was for only the current years salary but I guess that is not the case.

  2. Shows how much of a moron Eklund is....there are no recall waivers any more. A player can only be claimed on the way down to the minors, not on the way back up

If he clears waivers and the Habs want to create cap room then they are better off leaving him in Hamilton for the remainder of the season. If they just want to save the organization a bit of money for their bottom line then they will hope he gets claimed on re-entry waivers.

As for Kaos who said he cannot be claimed on re-entry waivers...that only applies to players making less the leagues average salary...I think. Any player making more (such as Nedved) can be claimed at half the cost of his remaining salary.

  3. To sum up a few of EK's posts. The following players have been linked to rumours with the Habs. You guys know how to react to these but it is worth mentioning.

Aucoin...he is not sold that he is coming to Montreal but he has been linked to many other sites. He thinks the NYI are also looking at Aucoin.

Bertuzzi...he claims Montreal e2 and Pittsburgh are in the running

    Carter (Anson) and Zherdev

    Chris Simon

Nagy...claims to be "heating up"...but that was thursday.

He has Samsonov going to Chicago, Anaheim or Boston.

  4. People are blaming Huet? Come on?

There is a lot of blame to go around but I don't see how Huet could be responsible for this.

What do you expect from him? Make the first pass out of the zone? score goals?

Didnt Abi give up 4 the other night too.

He has a .88 save % in the last month. It is not hard to tell which goaltender has been playing better since christmas.

Huet has not made a single "big" save all game.

  5. He's definitely earned himself another start. As others said though, he seems to always let in bad goals and in general seems a lot shakier on long shots, which is terrible for defenceman confidence (and as tonight showed, we REALLY need our d-men on the ball).

Anyways, he's a good backup but not worth re-signing this summer when we have the best goalie in the AHL and the best goalie in the CHL waiting in the wings. If we bring one of them in as Huet's backup, it would only cost us 500,000 instead of 2 mill for Abby.

You can even add Cedrick Desjardins as one of the best goaltenders in the ECHL deserving of a call-up to the AHL. This team is really deep in golatenders...the most important asset.
