If this was commenting on me, here were my reasons:
-Stauffer is a reliable source who reported the deal last night and said the details would come in the morning
-HF is very strict on the sources they allow and the Oiler's mod's believed this was true becuase they know he is a reliable source
-This could be Nylander rethinking things and suddenly turning on Edmonton
In the end EDM gets owned. You have to feel for Lowe as he's trying his best to sell Edmonton to UFA's and has gotten nothing so far.
Not about you...lol. I added the Lang signing and then saw it reprted 2 posts above. The post can only be edited, not deleted (to the best of my knowledge) unless your a mod. So I put "nevermind"

I am hearing 3 millon if it is I wil love this signing.
I am happy with that. Leaves room for more additions
-
Hooray. I down and 3 more signings to go
-
Good signing by the Caps.
TSN really jumped the gun on that one. So much for the Vancouver source.
-
The Rags still have 12 mil left under the cap if you can believe it.
I can count only roughly 7 million left to spend with only 15 guys signed. (with Nylander not included...I am assuming they still have to pay Kasparaitis) They still need to re-sign Lundqvist, Avery and 5 other guys. They will need to shed salary later if they want to sign Shanny.
-
Says they are in duscussions. Well at least it's a start.

Not only did Montreal offer more for Smyth and Briere. Dreger just said they were in the Gomez sweepstakes as well.
Very frustrating.
-
TSN is now announcing it.
Almost word for word
-
Ortmeyer to Nashville

BTW it is actually Howard Berger reporting the Smyth signing. He was also the first to report Blake to TO earlier.
-
can we have a REAL source please ???
FYI
Hockeybuzz and Sportsnet have been the first guys announcing most of the signings today. TSN has been lagging a bit today.
-
More bad news.
Smyth is heading to Colorado. Montreal offered 6 years at 39M and Smyth decided to take less money and fewer years!!!!

last update at bottom of page

Drury also signed with the Rangers. This is terrible!

According to Howard Berger, the Habs have offered Ryan Smyth a 5 year contract.

Blake also signed with Toronto

It was known that Lowe was looking to make a deal.
They are talking about it on TSN now.
Ek has been talking about that deal for a week. He has been pretty accurate all week...surprisingly.
-
Radek Dvorak Signed with Florida panthers lol
then Scott Gomez according to Spector its all done just tsn didnt put it on their sit yet so i unno what to think about that one.
I think Spector jumped the gun on that one. He says it is from WFAN radio but their website says nothing.
-
Niedermeyer has told Burke he is leaning towards retirement. That explains the Schneider signing.
-
Rafalski gone too...it's not gonna be another one of those summers?
-
Drury will get less!
Also a shorter deal
and there will not be a no movement clause.
Drury is better and more coveted than Briere.
If it will take less, then the Habs should offer him what they offered Briere.
-
Makes me cringe to think what Drury might make...
-
Schneider to Anaheim...very disappointing.
-
Zednik and Brett McLean to Florida
Canadiens sign Hamrlik, Smolinski & Kostopoulos

Hamrlik was really only injured a lot a couple years ago.
He has played 75, (51), 81, 73 games the last 4 NHL seasons.
Souray on the other hand.
81, 75, 63, 34, 52, 19 ...that is a lot of games missed. His shoulder and wrist are constantly subject to injury.
