  1. Wow, if Huet starts and is "rusty". Or, if Halak starts and cracks under the pressure, while our #1 is on the bench, Carbo's going to get bombarded.

hmmmmmmmm............. sounds like a definite lose-lose situation

no matter what happens, if the leafs win, it's lynch carbonneau time...

    now, there a happy scenario...

    GO :hlogo: GO!

  2. That might have been it, but it's been so long since it was on, I can't recall it off the top of my head.

In that case, do many people on the Vermont side speak French?

french is the second most spoken language in the american states bordering québec (wikipedia (french in the united states)

  3. So you named everyone as "solid" except for our leading goal scorer.....I think you might wanna shake your head.

yes, he is our leading scorer and he can put a bunch in but, as to hustle, the's not that kind of player... he'd be kind of a weaker brett hull type without some of the game reading skills and killer instinct...

still a good player to have but simply not a super clutch player...

  4. I reiterate my argument. In a one-game showdown with massive pressure on home ice, you have to favour the team WITH CHARACTER.

    Which ain't us.

generally, i would agree with you but we can't forget that we have koivu, souray, bouillon, komisarek, bégin, lapierre, plekanec, higgins... all character players

we have a big wildcard - kovalev who certainly can pull it out of the bag...

other young kids can come to the fore... latendresse, kostitsyn, etc...

our potentially weak area is ryder and maybe niinimaa (who's been playing quite well recently)

certain solid guys are markov & streit, bonk & johnson...

    we're not that badly off...

    GO :hlogo: GO!

  5. I don't think Hanlon is going anywhere just yet. Besides Ovechkin and Kolzig, he doesn't have much to work with in DC, the players seem to respect him and play for him. Unless there's a change at the GM post, Hanlon is safe.

I have heard media outlets recently say that Coyotes GM Mike Barnett could be promoted (read: fired) up the food chain, with Pat Quinn the top candidate to step into that role, but no mention of the dual coach/GM role he once heald in TO.

If Ottawa gets eliminated early, Murray may not be the only one out the door in Ottawa. Muckler may get the boot as well.

And then there's always the constantly-fired, if not officially, John Ferguson, Jr. Leafs no make playoffs, Fergie no keep job, Maurice no keep job.

    you think so?

    ferguson maybe... maurice unlikely...

  6. Oh is that all? Well heck thats not so bad!

Yeah it wont be so bad to be kicked out of the playoff race at the finish line by our most hated enemy, thats all.

No we lose Saturday and Carbo should be severly reprimanded.

maybe you should send him an angry letter because he won't get reprimanded by the ones who count (gainey & co.)

he'll get hazed by the press but that's to be expected... long-distance knives which will have no final effect in the canadiens family...

by the way, even if they make it in only to get eliminated on the way to the cup, the same will happen... bitching by some of us and hazing by the press... for any canadiens coach/player/gm/whatever, it's only a win situation if they go all the way to the cup (and even then....)

    GO :hlogo: GO!

  7. this has to do with the match-up between the leafs & canadiens...

it's a copy of a post i made on a related site: really, i'm confident for our boys...

"all i can say that the only thing that the leafs have over us is potentially more hustle...

we have better goaltenders... our offence is just as good if not better than theirs just as is our defence...

potentially the other leafs advantage is that paul maurice has more 'experience tools' in his tool box than carbonneau but that's pretty well it...

on balance, i'd give our team the advantage even on leafs ice...

their crowd can be silenced and brought to booing which will take them out of the total factor"

    GO :hlogo: GO!

  8. Great news, will give the kids some higher-level world-class experience. Invaluable at their age.

Hopefully Emelin crosses over the Atlantic this summer so he can start coming in the Habs system. We need the depth.

    that would be nice...

i hope that they can convince him... he's always a good prospect for us...

    GO :hlogo: GO!
