  1. SHI**IEST CAR YET!!

Forest Green 1996 Saturn SL2. 1.8 Litre engine, 4-speed automatic. 155,000 miles. So many mechanical problems, it has a vibration known as the "death roar."

    Kelly Blue Book: $900.

Who wants to buy a car? :puke:

Huzer: Where do you live in Colorado?!

  2. Muntrial canadiens. End sounding like ens. (but not too emphasized) That's how I say it. My wife says Mawntreal. It drives me nuts.

The Mawntreal is predominately the way people pronounce it in the states. I think, as somebody said earlier, that the spelling is why people prounce the O the way they do. If I said "Muntrial" to somebody, it would sound like I was trying to put on a canadian accent.

The other Canadian city name that just gets butchered is Calgary. I don't know how Canadians pronouce it, but there are American broadcasters who say Cal-GARY, and it's never sounded right to me. Is it not suposed to be pronounced CAL-gry?

  3. I know people who fought in Afgahnistan. I've been to CFB Trenton. I've stood on the side of the 401 in silence.

I also recognize satire when I see it...sure, it's done in bad taste...but I have better things to worry about.

If Canadians stopped worrying about the approval of American mediums and personalities, and stopped defining themselves in ways that simply mean "not American", then perhaps we'd find the true meaning of our culture.

Frankly, I could care less about some US based comedic satire gone awry...

Why does everyone in the world feel they need someone to apologize to them for some ridiculous "offense"?

    here here.

  4. I think it's fair to say it's a mistake on rvd's part, and considering the difference of impact on his team should he lose Wakaluk instead of Psurny, I think we'll bail him out this time. Wakaluk is not on waivers. Michal Psurny is.

  5. Doug Lynch (COL) suffered wrist injury during the game in an incident with Jean-Philippe Paquet (LA). He is expected to be sidelined indefinitely.

    Waiver draft = Rendered pointless.

He hoped the season wasn't lost after his injury...

It was lost long before that.

  6. Colorado sends:

    Tyler Ruegsegger (85) (Unsigned prospect)

    Alex Steen 69-76-76 (81)

    COL 3rd 2014

    to Phoenix for:

    Jordan Eberle (77) (Unsigned Prospect)

    Chris Gratton 72-75-73 (71)

    PHO 2nd 2012

Colorado confirms. I don't really like losing Steen, but Eberle will have a 92 shot, making him more usable than Ruegsegger, and I get a 2nd rd. pick instead of holding a 3rd, so I think it's good for me in the long run. Ultimately, my "defensive" forwards being Steen, Rupp, etc.. isn't going to cut it, so I need picks that will bring something stronger. Gratton is only there to fill the Steen gap for 2 seasons while players develop. Thanks balr.

  7. Mils, I'd generally agree with you on the issue of semantics - the terms of the contract control. However, you want to make sure that your terminology is clear throughout and clarifying language is no excuse to be inexact elsewhere. Belt-and-suspenders is always important and you don't want to end up putting in extra words that someone else could use to improperly construe your intended meaning. Obviously, of course, I am being obtuse and it wouldn't matter whether you called the contract and agreement or a commitment... but I'd definitely make sure to show that there is an exchange of obligations.... a peppercorn would be enough.

I agree entirely. I didn't mention consideration, and to that end, belt and suspenders is usually not a bad idea, especially for the drafter. Contra proferentum.

  8. I am studying law. I am not a lawyer. This is not legal advice. If you are having a legal dispute, you should hire a licensed attorney. (<< Sorry, that's a necessary caveat. Ethical thing.)

But, from what I have learned and experienced, either one is a confidentiality agreement. (This is U.S. law, Canada may be different, but they are likely similar.)

The terminology really is irrelevant, though. If you sign a confidentiality agreement (at a job for instance), then you are bound by the terms of that contract either way, whether or not the other party agrees to keep things confidential is a matter of the particular contract, and its terms. The title of it is semantics. If you want a more complete explanation of the process, let me know, I'm happy to help if I can.

    Hope that helps.

  10. Colorado confirms.

With Kane, Kanatov, Sedin, Kessel all 30 and younger and looking to hold up my top two lines for a while until I get some more draft picks, I need to focus on my bottom two lines. I lose some offense with Eaves, but I've got Steen, who is better on an NZT line anyway, and Rupp is better used at the wing. With Toews, I get a young balanced guy who will be able to play a consistent 4th line spot when he makes it to the big show. He can't hit, but other than that, he's balanced across the board, and is an upgrade on some guys who will be leaving soon: Orszagh, Rycroft etc... I also don't lose draft picks until the 3rd round 2 years from now. Overall, a good move for a rebuilding team, but not an easy one.

Thanks Farber for the good negotiations.
