  1. ...on the Habs of course.

My most underrated would be Bulis.

My most overrated would be Rivet.

And let's try not to turn this into a is-Rivet-good-or-not discussion because I am aware of his leadership and "team player" skills so lets keep this on topic.:/)

  2. Aren't Crosby and Lemieux both centers or something?

Also that leaves a hole in net. (Thibault is starting, not Fleury, by the way.)

You might be able to find better than that.

Hmmm.... Toronto has a decent one but no... Atlanta? No big names on D but they'd be good in a 5-on-5 game, no subs. Anaheim is close.

    I can't think right now.

  3. 14. Turning 15 on May 21.

And to the guy born on June 22, I do know someone with that birthday.

So, it looks like I'm the youngest on this site. Woah! 41 years between shortcat and me.

  4. Devils. I got used to cheering for them when I predicted them to win the cup a couple years ago. Thankfully they did so I wasnèt wasting my time.

Thrashers. The potential in Atlantas roster was always apparent. Ive been waiting for the year when they would explode. Last years acquisitions of Kozlov and Savard were huge. Now that they have Holik, they mean business.

  5. I do like Bonk. I just like Garon more. He's going to be great.

The trade was good for this season, not for the long run. That was needed because we'll have a lot of inexperienced, young faces in the line-up. A cheaper, yet solid back-up and two-way, experienced third-line center like Bonk were good acquisitions. But we paid the price for them.

  6. Perreault leaving didn't bother me much and I was glad to see Quintale leave. To me, the biggest loss was Jim Dowd but that's because I love those kind of players (Bulis, Sundstrom, Juneau). And Juneau and Dackell too. We should have better offense than last year and our ranking can be hugely changed on which face Souray brings to the rink. Remember, last season he was on pace to more goals and points than any Defenseman in the legaue including Gonchar.

Bonk is a big plus and if Bulis plays like he did in Europe than our 3rd line will be incredible: a defensive, checking line that can transform into explosive offense in the blink of an eye.

The first line dominate the same as always. Remember that we didn't have Kovalev last year. That's HUGE.

The second line is small and might get pushed around but they'll put away their chances as usual.

The fourth line will be almost as flexible as the third line with Bégin centering two offensive prospects. One will most likely be Chris Higgins, a two-way player who can find the back of the net. Can dominate in every aspect of the game. The other will probably be Alexander Perezhogin who is all offense. One of the trio is solid defense and checking, the other is two-way and the third is (potentially speaking) top-notch offense.

On D, Komisarek, Markov and Bouillon are 2 years older. Dandenault can replace Brisebois satisfactorily. I have no idea how Mark Streit plays but he sounds like he'll make the team. Rivet is solid and plays great with Markov. Again, Souray is a risky player to be your top offensive defenseman. He's had one random breakout season after years as an NHL blueliner

If Theodore shows off his legendary skills and agility we should fly high.

If all goes well, I predict a 6th seed finish. And a first-round series vs Tampa Bay. Hmmm....

  7. hehe... I can't wait... I can't talk hockey with anyone cause no one I see knows it well enough, my sister's convinced Montreal sucks in every sport without any idea of what she's talking about and my dad's among the boobirds who say Gainey "fell asleep" this off-season which I think is far off.

  8. These are my Eastern Conference standings:

    1) Philadelphia

    2) Boston

    3) Tampa Bay

    4) New Jersey

    5) Ottawa

    6) Pittsburgh

    7) Montreal

    8) Toronto/Florida

    10) Atlanta

Anybody from 6 to 9 can mix around pretty easily. The point of that was to show that Toronto isn't up there where they used to be. My guess is they'll become 8th seed.

It's gonna be a long year in the ACC.

And I'll be waiting at the end of it with a big smile:D

Edit: Looks like a first round vs Boston. But thereès only about a 2% chance that these are right.

No... he wasnt a part of the Leclair - Recchi deal.

We got Zubrus FOR sending Recchi to Flyers in 98 (I think)

    Wasn't it Desjardins, Leclair/Recchi and then Recchi/Zubrus.

So pretty much we traded Desjardins, LeClair and Recchi for Zubrus.:wall:

  10. Well, we improved from last year but I only expect a 6th seed finish. We can hopefully upset the 3rd seed. But our chances will be low in the second-round.

    BUT-----

    I just thought of something.

With the Sens dumping Redden (and I haven't heard about Bondra) and their financial problems and the Leafs sucking more than they usually do. We might have a shot at division-leader which would most likely give us the 3rd seed. Than, I'm confident we can make the Conference Finals. It all depends on whether we can beat Ottawa.

    Oh wait, then there's Boston.:wall:

    There goes my thought.:guru:

  11. Yeah, it's weird. Me and pretty much everyone I know watches it on TV and there's about 1 in every 15 kids who doesn't know how to play Texas Hold 'Em.

It's a card game but it's fun to watch and fun to play.

And I'm only 14. Just to show that it's popular with kids too.

  12. I'd hate to admit that LA ripped us but we have no room on our roster or payroll for any new players. We can only trade Huet for a pick and it would most likely be a 4th-rounder or so. But I don't think it's wrong to give Danis a chance just to see if he's NHL calibre.

That was Gainey's only mistake so far. Garon has star potential.

  13. I don't expect Florida to win the Cup but I'm just saying that they're a much better team and probably play-off material. And I think they still have the lowest payroll in the league which means in the next year or two they can add more good players to their roster. They have great potential.

The only Milbury trade I know both sides of was the Yashin/Chara, Muckalt, pick (Spezza). He seems to have well earned his nickname of Mad Mike. Can someone please post a list of some of his crazy trades and/or signings?
