He'd normally be a good fit but we just don't have room for him on our roster or under the salary cap. The Habs are absolutely done the FA period unless they trade Rivet and free some cap space.
Same goes for Selanne and Witt. There's no way we can get them.

I dont sweat big slow teams like the Leafs. I'm scared of the skilled speedy teams like Tampa (although no Bulin Wall is a setback for them).
The point is that sometimes you will need an extra boost in size and he'll be called up. We might not be scared of the TO ogres but I asure you, half the opposition do.
Especially in the play-offs because you play the same team several times and if your guys are getting crushed every time they approach the boards then you needa add guys like Vandermeer and Aitken to the line-up.

I've been reading posts here for a while but I only registered today.
OK. I'm Michael Bitton.
I like The Habs followed by:
Atlanta
NJ
Anaheim
I dislike:
LEAFS
Bruins (mainly Thornton)
Rangers (but they're changing - thanks to the cap)
Tampa
Buffalo
...
and ya, my favourite player is Jan Bulis. I like mainly defensive forwards like Bulis, Dowd, Juneau, Dackell so....
ciao

He's a good player but we already have 10 defenseman who can play in the NHL. If we 3-team for him we'd have to dish out Rivet and maybe another D-man.
-
Well, if we get Vinny, our lines will get messed up. Dagenais is a proven NHL level prospect. I'd rather have him switched to RW or something instead of Hamilton.
KKZ
Vinny-Ribs-Ryder
Bonk-Bulis-Sundstrom(LW to RW)
Dagenais-Bégin-Perezhogin
The problem is that there's only 1 rookie spot. A second will switch with Bégin and maybe Dagenais and Sundstrom.
That's a good team but it's about time we gave our prospects a chance. Half of them aren't gonna make just because they won't get experience until they're UFA.

It's supposed to be true. I'm pretty sure he is considering Montreal but I don't think it's a strong possibility.
I'd rather the habs sign Damphousse than this guy. We can maybe give him about the same deal as Lindros. After all, if he's here for Koivu then Koivu has a 1-year-deal.
And we don't really have room on our top 2 lines. Julien would have to play around a bit.
-
Bouillon's supposed to have a breakout year but who do you suggest he replaces?
We have too many defenceman.
His only chance is in case of injuries and/or Rivet getting traded.
-
To me, Bouillon is fighting with Hainsey for the role of SEVENTH defenseman. He'll only be a replacement.
Yeah it's nice to see that are team isn't so pathetic anymore!
-
Yeah, they've become a play-off team but their division is filled with talent. They won't finish ahead of Philly and NJ.
-Lemieux is passed his prime and won't play many games.
-LeClair is just passed his prime.
-Recchi can still score but not as well as he used to.
-Palffy is in his prime and will be their top scorer.
-Gonchar has a chance of being their 2nd scorer despite being a Defenseman. He's the biggest signing and makes a good defender in front of average goaltending.
-Thibault is inconsistent.
-Marc-André Fleury has great potential but is still only a back-up for now.
-Sydney Crosby and the others have still not proven themselves. Remember: Lindros was also once called the "Next One."
-André Roy was a key signing due to the lack of size in the RW position (Recchi, Palffy: 5"10).
-Tarnstrom and Melichar are the only two D that can do their job, excluding Gonchar.
Overall, Palffy and Gonchar are the only huge names. Their team is filled with big names that can't put the puck where their mouth is.

Perreault back in Toronto?
I thought we'd converted him! Actually, those two would really help the leafs....
I hope they go to the Rangers and no one ever hears of them again. They're like a bottomless pit.
And if Juneau does come back the Habs better take him back!

Right on!
Especially since they're gonna have to dump St. Louis or Richards.

Hmmm... might have been a good idea to find out what it was before you applied.
And David B... Streamer plays the cocky, arrogant ass. Its an act. He's still the Western Conference Commish, so please, have some respect for my personnal pet . j/k
Hehe... I know...
I know it's a simulated NHL game and you're a GM and whatever I meant I don't know how and everything.
-
Hehe.... good point. If you change a position or two he'll fit in but we have 3/4 good centers that don't deserve to be kicked down a line. I don't think we'll get him; Gainey's looked done for a while but I'm just saying that he wnats to play here and Montreal's one of the teams that's "interested in him".
-
What happens if we land ourselves in a playoff series against Philly?
Here comes Aitken.
What happens when we play the Leafs?
GINOOOOOOOOOO!! Where are you!!!!???
-
Just thought I'd post the rumour that Vincent Damphousse would like to finish his career in Montreal. Or so RDS reported a couple of days ago. Vinny said that Montreal was on his list of teams that he'd like to go to.
I think I'd like this guy back.
-
Someone said something about TB overpaying him so they can dump his salary on another team. I don't know which team would a 66-point scorer for almost $7M. Ya he's got potential I woulfn't offer this guy more than 5.5M or so.
-
Sorry, I thought Bégin was gone... Oh, that's sick that we have him back this season! He's so good.. heheheh... ya I choose him over Vandermeer but I doubt Perezhogin will go from Hamilton to 2nd Line. And where's Dagenais on your list?
And I'd rather have Bonk as a great third-liner than an average 2nd liner. Besides, he'll go well with Bulis.

I'm guessing these are this season's lines:
Kovalev - Koivu - Zednik
Dagenais - Ribeiro - Ryder
Bonk - Bulis - Vandermeer
Sundstrom - Higgins - Perezhogin
Rivet - Markov
Souray - Komisarek
Streit - Dandenault
Theodore
Huet (inj)
Danis
Hossa, Plekanec, Kostitsyn, Chipchura, Hainsey will have a shot but may not make it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I'm happy with these lines... not a player I wouldn't want on my team and I can't wait to see that third line in action!
BULIS!

Rivet and Bonk weren't bought out because Gainey saw that we would be fine with their salaries this season and next year he can re-sign them for half as much. They don't have to throw away players when they can just wait a season. It's not like the Habs would have signed a superstar with an extra couple of million or so.
Brisebois was a smart choice though; we have too many Defenseman anyway. Besides, he wanted to leave and Rivet IS our assistant captain.
If we lose a few players this year he might be good for a 1-year, 1-ish million dollar contract. Maybe a little more. But thyere's no way he's at the top of my list.
