  1. I just think that Kovy may finally see that he is getting older but can still rack up the points by playing smartly and with great skill with some of the young guns on this squad.

Of course this is wishful thinking but I would rather be optimistic and hope he gets that he can really have a positive impact on the future of this team by teaming up with some hard working younglings.

I voted back to 05/06 form.

    Here's hoping...

  2. So my question is can anyone recommend a way to watch the game/s over the web?

I'm currently living in Dubai and the only hockey they know here is field hockey.

I'm willing to pay or subscribe to some website if anyone has any suggestions.

Is it possible to post an entire game on youtube, maybe broken up by periods?

    Please advise,

    Kjell

Kjell, looks like RDS will be playing regular season games on rds.ca - I haven't read anything about the pre-season however...

    Habsworld Thread Link

I don't imagine RDS will charge anything for the broadband feed...TSN does not currently for CFL games on their website

  3. The game is on RDS according to their online program guide:

    RDS Program Listing Sept 17

That's wicked, though I don't know if it is on broadband on RDS.ca

I just want to see some great competition out of these guys. Youth pushing the older and younger vets in all aspects sounds good to me. Now let's just hope we can get some chemistry, momentum, hard work and a few breaks.

Pre-season schedule is packed but it should effectively trim out the guys who just aren't worth keeping around.

Love hearing about D'Agostini, O'Byrne, Price, A. Kosti. Not that I want to see anyone fail, I'd rather have all the young guys playing their best and providing a huge challenge for the entire team.

That's the sort of hunger this team needs. That and some more sandpaper in their game...that remains to be seen.

    Go Habs!

  4. Here's my crazy theory:

Bob has loaded up on middling D-men so that we have credible yet beatable players in the available defense positions. This means that when our young guys show in camp or early in the season that they are better options, they'll force the managment into a position they are already aware of, they created it!

So the young guys get to: beat out what are essentially beatable cheap guys, feel good about their accomplishment and have that reflect in their on ice performance, continue to play super hard to stay on the big team knowing there is always someone there to challenge you. It's how BG is changing the nature of competition on making this team.

Keep in mind, I've had two sips of cooffee and I am still waking up...I may need to edit this later lol

  5. I like this move, IF Brisebois decides to accept:

    1) The deal is cheap and we have cap space

    2) He is another defensive body to increase the level of competition of the existing defense corps at training camp - I think BG wants to see who really wants on the team - young, old, vet, whatever...

    3) Brisebois was never as bad as he was made out to be, and now at his age, he could be the guy that sits in the press box from time to time rather than sitting out a young guy and slowing his development.

I don't believe any of the young defensemen make the jump this year to full time duty - I've just watched too much hockey over the years to know that developing defensemen in particular seems to be a slow process of maturation.

  6. yea yvon pednophile is so goddam annoying, a real 20/20 hindsight genius there scrutinizing every play in slo-mo reply and dissing players.

Perfect example was a few games ago when Ryder was coming in from right side and shot at close range and hit the insidepost/crossbar in the corner. Then pednault is going over the replay and notices Higgins open on the far post and starts criticizing Ryder for shooting because all he had to do was pass it between the D-man's legs and it would've been a super easy goal for Higgins.

    What a jerk.

    Exactly...

He forgets that this is the fastest game on ice! Pretty easy to pick apart every play in slo-mo!

  7. I just got a 42"Plasma and HD sat receiver so it'll be CBC for me, though I have watched RDS faithfully for 3 years. And depending on how the game's going and my superstitious nature I may find my way back to RDS...

I am bilingual but wish I didn't understand Pednese! Yvon Pednault is the single worst color man in history, and that is saying something when Harry Neal still has work...

Never have I heard anyone so high on their own perspective and so demeaning to anyone who is not "blessed" with his level of intelligence, skill, knowledge of the game and all other things related to hockey, the Canadiens, etc...oh yeah, and why doesn't he just come out and say, "I hate Michael Ryder". Arse.

    I loathe him. Clear enough?

Houde would be alright if he wasn't so influenced by Yvon the Terrible.

Thanks for letting me get that out.

  8. Well, last night's game was a test of nerves for us fans, and though the boards were fun, if not chaotic and manic, I hope we come out with a win tonight.

For all of those who like to place the blame on any single element of this team, keep in mind, when one piece is defective most machines will fail at some point.

To me, our D was terrible last night, and our goaltending was extremely inconsistent, which breeds a lack of confidence which spread like a wildfire through some of the vets in this troupe. Yes our "core" as some of you term them has disappeared, but a TEAM will cover for each other so that no ONE ever has to shoulder all of the burden all season long. Our youth is bringing the energy, the vets have to pick it up because their skill alone hasn't amounted to much. Did you see the Buffalo line-up last night? 6 top tier players on the shelf and we couldn't bury them. Now that's a team.

Bouillon sitting out is a good move. I no longer recognize the game he plays, I wonder if he does?

The forwards need to put out some consistent hard work form start to finish, like our fourth line did and some of the other fellas too (Kosty, Pleks etc...) and our D and goaltending have to give us a chance or we are done, not only for tonight, but for the year, I fear.

On that note, I am putting out some serious big time koochy koo voodoo positive vibes to all of you on these boards, Habs fans everywhere and of course, the freakin' players.

THIS SHIP NEEDS TO TURN AROUND TODAY.

    PERIOD.

Come on boys, beat those Broons!

  9. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it.

I believe we need a defensive coach whose specialty is the defense position. Unlike Jarvis who was a defensive forward.

It's like having your O-line coach work with your D-line, "Because he played against great defenders"

Until that happens we are going to be in TROUBLE.

Can't stop turning the puck over, can't get the puck out, can't stop the swarm once it starts...Sound familar?

  10. Well fellas,

It's actually been a fun night. Like a roller coaster, but I suspect I'll wake up sometime in the next few hours with a gut ache...sorta like a roller coaster or "Russian Mountain" if you prefer

Anyway, things aren't good in Canadiens-Land. This honestly could be the start of a major meltdown.

Not sure what to expect, but thanks for the good company and good humour this evening.

    Cheers my brothers.

  11. Nevermind Bonk... but Johnson had a bad game... -2 even with their goal, stupid penalty in the 3rd...

    And now 6-4 Sabres...

Agreed about Johnson, their union brother, but Dandenault, Buillon, Markov, have all looked especially bad out there tonight.

And that is too much of our "core" D that played like sh*t in my books.
