Fanpuck33_
Both are restricted free agents, which means they can only sign elsewhere if we do not offer them contracts, and that isn't going to happen. Don't worry, both will be wearing Habs uniforms for years to come. And I do not think Kovalev is too expensive. He will only get aroun 4.5-5 million, and he have dumped a lot of salary money, by dumping Perrault, Garon, Quintal etc and signing Sundtrom for less money. Tony_
By the way Bob Gainey sounded on television when asked about Kovalev, it was obvious they aren't on the same page on financial terms. I like when he said Montreal was a town that alot of players are interested to play in. That was great to hear.
Spider-Man NL
In a article posted on canadiens.com http://www.canadiens.com/eng/news/redirect...newsItemID=3897 Gainey said that: “In Sheldon’s case, we’re talking every day, so I’m confident we’ll find a way to keep him on the team, perhaps even with a long-term deal” he noted. “Michael’s situation is somewhat different. We gave him a qualifying offer, but he chose not to accept it, so he’s a case we’ll need to address down the road.” I sure hope he can get Ryder sign soon. Zowpeb
A friend of mine was working out, on ice, with Souray, Scott Walker, Tim Brent and a few other NHLers the other day...says Souray is a riot... I have some gossip but it's not fair to Souray for me to share 2nd hand info...
