    Pacioretty - Drouin - Gallagher

    Domi - Danault - Scherbak

Lehkonen - De La Rose - Hudon

    Byron - Plekanec - Shaw

    Mete - Weber

    Alzner - Petry

    Benn - Juulsen

    Price

    Niemi

Nothing about that lineup screams exciting team to watch. I could handle not-exciting when the team was winning, but when you combine not winning and not exciting, count me out.

  2. You know what gives people good attitudes for the most part? Winning. If you're losing it's hard to have a good attitude. I just in good conscience can't understand how MB is allowed to touch the CH roster.

I attitude change that's needed that wont come was already mentioned above, there is a great coach available right now, that could never be hired by Montreal because he doesn't speak  french, the media and fans are hamstringing this organization.

I don't think don or illWill are blindly waving the habs flag. If anything I would say some people are over valuing kotsitsyn 2.0 erm... Galchenyuk.  He's had tonnes of time to develop.  100% therrien gallant Julien muller fault that he did not. I would have liked to get more for him,  but this isn't pavel datsyuk. Plain and simple. I think montreal lost the trade.  But not by much. Galchenyuk isn't that good. I'm certainly not going to cheer for arizona and hope domi sucks and Chucky scores 50 so I can be right.

I agree with illWill on the  confusion of using goals vs playmaking to argue about one trade, and then reversing it two years later to argue another. You never know, team balance may be better having someone who can pass the puck. Go 13 Go.

This is the kind of thinking that keeps letting the Montreal management off the hook for their terrible trades, this isn't the worst move they've made, but this is the straw that broke the camels back.

So you think he may put up only 5g next year...or just keep saying 5g as cheap way to try and make a weak point.

Galchenyuk averages 50pts/yr, all of 5 more points last year than a guy who only had 5g on one of worst teams in NHL.

Montreal was one of the worst teams in the NHL last yeah too, eh?

I dislike the move but I do believe that Domi will do better with us than he did in Arizona.

I have to ask why you think that? The current coaches have proven they cannot work well with youth players, this move is like treating the symptoms not the cause, and the cause is the coaches. Changing to Julien from Therien didn't seem to do anything.

Montreal scored 209 goals last year.  Arizona scored 208.  Dont tell me that Domis lower goal production is because he played in arizona.

Domi also benefits from empty netters which chucky didnt get.  He scored all of 5 goals against real goalies.

Nicolas deslauriers was a better goal scorer.

Both players .6 ppg. Chucky unable to secure a roster spot with multiple coaches.

I mean Julien, Therien,  was there really much difference between the two? Also, I didn't downvote  you, I welcome different opinions even if I think they are full of crazy. As with all habs players that have been moved because they weren't the 'right fit', I hope he does very well in Arizona, and I wont boohoo Domi, that doesn't mean I will be happy with this trade. The whole 'trust the management' line has been so overplayed at this point, any trust that may have been there is gone, way gone.

  8. I wish I could say I was shocked to hear the return for Galy, but I'm not. This management team has fumbled their way into decision after decision, I can't see how Molson keeps letting him do this. This team is plagued with old thinking dinosaurs in the management and coaching side.

Sometimes I feel like this org is strangled by the past successes and traditions: old french speaking coaches, players have to act a certain way (see: Subban).

Shhh! Common sense and logic only serve to further enrage most of the fan base. I mean everybody knows that a hot start indicates a successful season and a long playoff run and play off success! Right? I mean it is a foregone conclusion that James Neal is going to score at least 80 goals and Vegas will make the playoffs! Right? ?

The issue people rightly are having is the issues from pre-season, the issues people said the team would have when the roster was made in the summer is happening. It's not the team lit it up in pre-season and is just having a rough patch. Some people think this is the level of the team, some think it will get better, we will see who right very soon.

Do you think this roster will be same heading into the playoffs?

Last few years the Habs have ripped it up in Oct and Nov and has meant little, who knows how the season plays out, so why would you write it off in Sept?

Who knows what it'll look like going into the playoffs, the management doesn't fill me with confidence like some others here, so we'll see. The bar is certainly low for expectations though.

The team is going to have issues scoring goals from time to time... thats the team they were last year, and thats the team they are on paper right now.

Is it as bad as it looks in pre-season? No its not.

But yes we still have the same problems we had last year.  I still say this team did not get worse over the off-season... but it didn't get better either.  We are still the same team, competing for division but not quite good enough for cup.

For that reason this season doesn't excite me, I'll still watch..just wish no expectations.

Offer sheet isn't in affect until the player accepts and signs.  Than the original team has an opportunity to match or walk away.  With draisaitl, I think if we offered $10m, the oilers will probably be forced to walk away.

all the way the contract mess MB has us in, I don't know if we could even make an offer

    Ahh ok i get it.

I still think Drouin will replace both radulov and galchenyuk

Maaan come on...killing my buzz, can't we pretend MB is not going to ruin the team further?

  14. Sort of off topic, but with offer sheets, does a player have the right to refuse the offer? Is the offer made to the player or the team and team has to pass it along. Can a team make an offer to a player, the player turns it down and the other team never finds out unless the player tells them?

When is the post-deadline press conference by Bergevin? I really want to get my blood pressure up and risk a stroke from hearing him say "The prices just weren't where we wanted them to be for scoring forwards, but I'm happy with the character guys we've added" 20 times.

We can make it a drinking game:

1 shot for the following phrases/words:

    - character guy

    - prices too high
    - believe in our core

    - team toughness
