Suzuki with an excellent pass to set up Canada's first goal vs Swiss
Brook with an excellent decision late in the game to kill time by skating the puck into the corner and keeping it there. Commentators couldn’t stop talking about it.
Kid plays with a veteran edge.

Merry Christmas you filthy animals! And Happy New Years!

Back to Back game winning goals.
Domi with the set up on both the tying goal and OT winner.
Kid can dish the puck.

The name on jersey back then was enough for me to dislike him as a prospect.
I hear ya.
But I don’t hold the son accountable for the sins of the father.

I watched some of the 2015 junior games and it was so clear then how good Domi could become.
His connection with Montreal when they were cheering his name seems like it was meant to be that he would eventually become a Montreal Canadien.

Talk about getting shalacked. Holy.
It’s all good though, team just didn’t show up for whatever reason.

The ref owes Lehkonen an apology.
Indeed that might be one of the worst calls I have ever seen.
That ref should be ashamed of himself.

D was definetly suspect
What else is new?
Kulak had a tough game, the whole LD is the suspect part of the D core and teams punish the Habs mercilessly for it.
The RD is a strength, I think a move will be made to bring in at least one capable LD defenceman to try and get players playing in correct positions.

Price had a heroic effort tonight.
Was a pleasure watching him on his game, always is.

Two things
1) i was working under the impression that alzner was not the only big defender we were signing. With the cap space we had i thought markov or some other replacement (via trade) would be acquired to play with Weber.
2) yes i was wrong and thought alzner was better than he was. I thought he would be a good top 4 partnered with Petry. I was wrong on that.
We both were wrong mate, I’m just breaking balls.

Weber can stretch a pass.
His passing game is highly underrated, he relates the skating up the ice to his partner a lot but his passes usually are crisp smart and right on target.

When the decision was to replace markov with a five year contract for karl alzner, i cant see it as a good decision.
To be fair you and I actually supported the Alzner signing if I remember correctly.
Obviously it was hard to tell he would fall off completely but whatever.

While I never considered Weber slow in the slightest. He is just a big man that can gain speed and momentum from his big strides, he never really needs to use his speed because he’s always in position, a sign of a very smart defensemen.
But that burst of speed he had that brought him from behind Montreal’s net off to a breakaway for his second goal really showcased that. It looks like his time off has done a lot for his recovery, which is a good sign for the ones critical that he could be washed up and damaged goods.

Drouin has looked real good as of late. Just looks like the best player on the ice.
Him and Domi and Shaw look great together.

Byron and Weber contributing immediately.
-
5 in a row.
Not for a lack of effort though, oh well.
Glad Weber is back he looked steady which is encouraging.
-
Price looked terrible on that 3rd goal.
He played a good game though.
4 losses in a row, at least the games are entertaining.
-
Guys Andrew Shaw has been playing some great hockey as of late.

Poor kid.
-
Buffalo wanted it more.
Most of the Habs players looked like couldn’t give a shit. Poor Petry he’s so tired playing so many minutes because no other defender is capable.
-
Interesting Benn or Schlemko still in over Reilly.

The 5-3 loss to the Rangers? I would hardly call that a blowout but I guess that’s up to the beholder.
edit: on the positive front, Max Domi!

Looks like the best player for the Americans.
Keep in mind he got a hat trick against the best defence in the tournament. Very promising.
