  1. From what I saw from him after the collision he poped right back up and skated to the bench did some rotations and went to the dressing room. It didn't look like he was in a lot of pain, which I think he would of been had it been a really bad injury.

    Hopefully nothing serious

I don't even know why Emelin did that. Weber and Galchenyuk were already both on the right side. Dumb

Emelin and Chucky are having a really tough night. Both responsible for at least 3 goals against.

Chucky is a turnover machine right now. Needs to settle down.

    Really happy about Patches though.

no thats not what they said.

They were clear that they haven't heard any rumors on Pacioretty.

They said Therrien was not using Pacioretty as much as in previous years and was not using him on the first line.  Then Kelly Hrudey speculated (his own speculation, not based on any  inside info) that if this continued, the Habs might try to move Pacioretty for something, possibly a top 4 defenceman.

    Thanks for the correction.

I kind of half heard what he said while I was sitting down to eat and just heard the last part.

I suspect this is very true. I don't think Pacioretty is playing lazy. I also don't think he is playing any different than he did for the last few years. If I were MT, I would try to have him out with Markov as much as possible. Markov can pull off that stretch pass.

Max was fed a pass right in front of the slot with plenty of room from Radulov and missed the net again. He is getting fed the pucks on a silver plater but he's missing. He just hasn't found his groove this year.

  5. We have hit a bit of a cold streak to be sure. This happens to all teams and even so just has others have pointed out we are still battling and are playing well but are not getting rewarded.

Chuck, Max and Gally all had great chances and either missed the net or were shut down by Jones. Price commented that the last two games were decided by great goaltending and unfortunately Price lost those duels. It happens even to the greats.

Still that play by Chuck on the second goal against was the back breaker, that was his naivety shining through. We still need to work on a couple things for sure.

If the Isles accepted that deal you take it and run and then figure out left wing later

Absolutely! JT is a franchise player if by some miracle that deal happened it would be great.

Word around Toronto is that the Leafs are getting ready to throw the bank at him if the Isles don't resign him. He also just bought two huge mansions just outside of Toronto in Oakville.

Funny how the guy with the second highest plus/minus on the team is completely lost in his own end.

I wouldn't say he is completely lost in his own end. To start the year he was actually playing good defensively but recently the knock on him is choosing the lazy play like the fly by stick check. Things like that he needs to work on but you can see the understanding is there he just needs to implement.

He will become a well rounded centre soon enough

  8. We currently have the Vezina and Norris front runners. And they are leading large.

Chucky has been playing some great hockey and will only be getting better. Radulov has become IMO our best forward with incredible playmaking abilities. That group of guys have been good enough to keep us in the top of the standings. Now you have Patch you IMO has progressively been playing better and has started shooting more which is key in him starting to pot more and I'm sure Gally will get it going he's always out there working hard.

I know the big question right now is Pleks and his lack of scoring and I think it definitely is an issue but at the same time he is a very good defensive centre and takes a lot of tough minutes and that is important to our system. And then there is DD who is one of our least used forwards and I think will probably be moved before the end of the year or sent down.

I think a couple of moves are going to be made before the playoffs but MB is still waiting to see what position he needs to go in for.

You can hardly blame fans that feel this way, as half of our top 6 have been producing next to nothing 23 games into this season:

    Pacioretty: 5g

    Gallagher: 5g

    Plekanec:  1g

We're not going to win on a regular basis if these 3 continue to produce at such a pathetic rate.  Pacioretty is on pace for 18 goals ffs...and his one and only purpose on that ice is scoring goals.  Plex, although he really does need to pick it up, does a heck of a job preventing goals on most nights at least...but having only one line that can score reliably is not enough.  And then you have our D corps, desperately in need of an upgrade in the top 4, that struggle mightily to clear the zone and give up a dangerously high number of quality chances against...only the brilliance of Price erases many of those blunders on the scoresheet.  So whether you like it or not, Carey Price's importance to the Habs cannot be overstated given the current situation...this team would be a bottom feeder without him.

It's not that I blame the fans for not wanting more of our top forwards to start scoring, it's the fact that it's the same old song and dance after every loss acting like we got blown out of the water, when in reality it was a very close game that was decided by a couple lucky bounces. Gibson l

played just as well as Price last night.

Do I think that some of our core players need to step up? Sure but Max played a decent game yesterday and has started shootings more often which is great unfortunately he missed the net a couple times as did others. Right now we are at the top of the league in scoring goals.

Does our defence need help? Sure another top 4 guy to play with Weber would be great but we are not there yet maybe down the road.

Poor Price, he pretty much needs to pitch a shut out every night, or score a goal or 2.

The offense is pathetic, a lot of players making big money and not producing anything.

After the 9-0-1 start, they are pretty much a 500 team, looking like last years bunch minus Price stealing games for them.

Price played great no doubt about it but both of Anaheims goals were lucky bounces and we missed the net like 8 times last night. It's not like we got blown out. We didn't have any luck.

Honestly I get to hear a lot of this negativity from my leaf buddies who go on and on about how the Habs are nothing without Price and that's expected but hearing the same thing from Habs fans over and over is getting really annoying.

I thought the game was a total bore, apart from OT and a handful of great saves. It was only five or six years ago I was saying that NHL hockey had never been more exciting. Something has happened. Other than a couple of teams, like TO or Chicago, the product is fundamentally boring all too often. Unless coaching has made a quantum leap in its success at siphoning all life out of the game, the explanation has to be in the way the games are called. We need to get back to the obstruction crackdown of the post-lockout era.

Personally I found the game to be pretty exciting. Price and Mrazek made some awesome saves during the game that kept the scoring low but it was pretty intense throughout IMO.

Emelin also had another awesome showing, its crazy how good he has been this year and it all started from the World Cup onward. We all saw the training videos of him and Chuck to start the season but I don't think any of us were expecting him to step up his game this much. He earned every right to be playing next to Weber. I'm really pleasantly surprised by him this year. The Weber/Emelin pairing has got to be a pain to play against.

That's fine. He's still learning. Has to catch up since Therrien kept putting him off centre last season and the season before.

Yeah not too worried about the faceoffs. His defensive zone coverage needs work though. A couple fly by lazy plays that could of burned us pretty bad and some did against Ottawa. He needs to work a little harder in our end since he is our 1 centre.

Ummm, Martin is 6'3" 220lb and likely would run Weber and drop the gloves with him if had the chance (would be a great deal to remove Habs best d-man for 5 minutes with a guy that has virtually no offense).

Sure that would be a good move but then again people know Weber isn't afraid to drop the gloves and from I have seen from Martin he only goes after guys that are smaller than him like Stogey pointed out.

In last night's game when he got pasted into the boards from behind, rather than lay there like most do whether they are hurt or not, he got right back up and dropped the gloves against a bigger Matt Martin. That's the mentality of a guy I want on my team

Yeah that was a dirty hit too. Glad Nate was ok and the fact that he was right up in Martins face was awesome. I really want him to succeed, the ability is there just needs to get it together mentally.

Also leave it to Martin to go after Beaulieu, you will never see him try that on Weber, that little weasel!
