I don't think Holland can hear you, he has his 4 Stanley Cup rings, plugging his ears

It rainy and grim in Ottawa, post-election blues and public trasnpo are making it hard to get going.
Long live game days!

I look forward seeing a good game from Rielly. If he finally establishes himself as a solid 3rd pair LD that can play RD, we will have good depth at the NHL level. I still hope fo rthe best in his case.
I have a feeling the 3rd line will be on 🔥 fire 🔥 tonight
Everyone on that third line has been barely nhl capable this year; I don't expect much from them. Same goes for Reilly

Waked looked pretty solid at Habs main camp a few years ago.

Would it make sense to try moving Suzuki to play with Kotkaniemi, and have Byron in the press box?
I personally think Byron should be in the press box

The real question is: will I be able to stay awake for this game?

But, Lidstrom retired after 2011-12...Red wings have won 0 playoff series since then...so wouldnt put on a pedestal. When have hall of famers in lineup, can make you look very smart and free agents want to play with them (the Lidstrom-Yzermans).
Lindstrom, Yzerman, Datsyuk, Zetterberg, Fedorov; all drafted by Detroit. A world class gm, drafted all of those players. Their best players were draft picks, not free agents. That's why players wanted to play there.

They are not in win mode now. They hope they are in win mode now. They know they still have massive holes in their lineup, like bottom 9 forwards and defense.
I don't think Puljujarvvi will be traded this season without an offer that blows Hollands socks off. He's playing too good now and his stock is on the rise, Holland will wait that out. Plus I read today that if Puljujarvvi would probably finish the season outside the NHL even if he was traded.
Anytime you have McDavid and Draistl on your team, you're in win now mode

All of these threads are basically the same thing. I dislike Bergevin too, but there's too many of these threads being started

Maybe. But he has only played three games after recovering from a groin injury so I wouldn't draw conclusions quite yet.
True.
Maybe I read it on here, but the article had said he has no pace to his game.

For sure. It's going to take some convincing for Holland to deal one of his top prospects. He's not a GM that gets taken advantage of very often.
They're basically in win now mode, so maybe that can be taken advantage of.

I like it. Edmonton has a few nice pieces if a trade for Byron could be worked out. Jones is definitely one. Samorukov and Puljujarvi are a couple others. Habs would have to take a cap hit back. Maybe taking back Gagner convinces the Oilers to do the trade. Habs could send a non-prospect AHLer (like Waked or Pezzetta) back so they don't add to the 50 contract limit.
Edmonton seems like a decent target. Holland is a stingy g.m, though

Edmonton needs some depth scoring; Byron seems like he would be a good trade candidate.... Caleb Jones could be piece. Probably have to retain some salary on Byron

Harris is now 2c + 3a in 6 games for NU.
Struble has returned from injury but has not yet scored in the first three games.
I read struble was struggling with the adjustment to college hockey.

He's a kid. His ice time makes sense

Boy, I think $4 mil would be nuts. Half of that, I can see. Mete isn't bad, but he has been the most direct beneficiary of MB's comical inability to fill glaring roster holes. Add a legitimate top-pairing LD and see what happens to Mete's profile.
4mill is ridiculous. He's not getting 4 million

He may be hurt. But he's always been the kind of player who, if he loses even a half-step, becomes marginal. Don't be too surprised if he just falls off a cliff.
He has done nothing this year. After the concussion, he has not been the same player. Not using his speed at all

Yep and right now Chariot looks as useless as Alzner. So much for the arguement back in August that there was lots of time and D we had in August wouldn’t be what we had in our opening lineup.
Chiarot is pretty awful. I don't just throw that term around, but there is literally no need for him on this tea. He's the exact opposite of a puck moving D.

Fleury has looked great

I like Gostisbehere -- but is Philadelphia willing to trade him?
Probably not.... Or Fowler, but same situation

Well, yes and no, The PK was not as bad as this last season and the personnel on D were basically the same. On the other hand, upgrading personnel does tend to make everything easier. This club has had a glaring need at LD for over two years now, which, in classic MB fashion, has gone unaddressed. (And of course fans cheerled enthusiastically as he sat on his arse, but I digress). I'm pretty confident that adding a major upgrade at D would likely help the PK, as it would help other facets of our game.
Not for the PK, but Gostisbehere would be a solid trade candidate.
I could also see the Habs going the entire season, with this current line up...
