There a difference in just coming back from a knee injury, and coming back and being able to play at the same speed. Koivu never had the same speed after blowing out his knee.

I lived it... with a full rupture of ACL LCL and bruised fem cond. No meniscus damage.

The choice between cadaver, patella or semi tend.  reconstruction will go along way in determining his full recovery if it is even a full rupture.

Zednik is a good example. Was his emergence a mirage, or did the brutal clotheslining he got mess up his trajectory? A classic case of a "never the same" again player, perhaps because he got a lot more cautious about going into traffic thereafter. Also concussions were not well understood at the time; maybe he was damaged goods.

He was not a developing player, but it always irritated me that we acquired Donald Audette as a legitimate scoring threat on a team that desperately needed it...only to have him have his arm severed, like, five games into his time with us, never again to be an effective player.

Neither guy is in the category of Koivu (potential compromised), Markov (prime years lost, subsequently diminished), and above all Price (Cup windows destroyed).

The Dach injury sounds absolutely catastrophic. I'm not a medical doctor, but my guess is we will be lucky if he ever fulfills his considerable potential now. Too much development time lost, too severe an injury, is my fear.

I wouldnt go that far... hockey is a very easy sport on the knees right off the hop. If he is lucky and has no damage to his meniscus then he should be back fully for next season.

What procedure is chosen will go a long way to how is recovery goes.

Having it happen during a developmental growth year is what really sucks.

Let's hope there's some good news coming out of this catastrophe

Its regular roster rules now so if they wanted to wait til Wednesday they could even make the callup same day.  (Though due to travel a tuesday callup and travel with the team just makes more logistical sense).

They do have to hold this roster for 24 hours I believe. After 5pm Tuesday they can adjust line up.

Only 14 teams in the league won 43 or more games last season ... so the Habs are going to jump from tied for 27th in wins to Top 14 ... seems a tad optimistic.

    +2  games over .500 hockey

Again... I said IF we remain relatively healthy

The point is that Caufield and Dach were the only ones that matter for thr FUTURE, but it wasn’t going to make a difference in how we did. The rest of the guys may add to our large number of man games lost, but whether they were there or not we would have sucked - and I think we were probably better with them out. Either way we were bad and would have sucked. Florida was missing guys that almost caused them to miss the playoffs.

    Disagree totally...

Matheson played only half a season as well!

Guhle is looking to be an absolute stud... he played half a season!

Monahan even less then half a season

Only to name a few on top of Dach and Caufield injuries.

Just those injuries alone played a huge role in the season and nobody can really state otherwise

  6. Now that Maillet and Andersson were waived which was always going to be the case considering there showing at camp thus far... I would believe after Mondays game likely roster moves will be

    Heinemen CUT

    Mailloux Norlinder Barron CUT

Primeau waived or traded for pucks

    14 forwards

    7 dman

    2 goalies

Obviously we will add to that if we claim off the waiver wire.

    Just my guess

    Caufield   Suzy   Monahan*

    Slav         Dach     RHP*

    Ylonen***   Newhook*   Anderson*

    Pearson***  Evans    Gally

    Pezzetta***/ Armia***

    Matheson Savard

    Guhle Kova

    Xhakej**  Lindstrom**

    Harris**

    Allen

    Monty

    (Tandem)

    * interchangeable

    ** interchangeable

    *** interchangeable

Different idea.  Vasilevskiy is out for two months.

What would you want from them to take Jake Allen off our hands.

We can always claim a backup goalie off waivers if you don't trust Primeau.

Maybe TB picks up Primeau off waiver and hopes they catch lightning in a bottle...

  8. nobody looked special to me. However, Roy looks like a smart player. Beck does not belong on the top scoring line. He doesnt have the imagination to drive the offence between Heinemen and Roy. Would of rather liked to see what Kidney and his playmaking could do for Emil and Roy instead of Becks no non sense approach in the O zone

I live in Toronto, and I don't care how many of my family, friends, etc cheer for the Leafs.

A real fan never abandons their team and never cheers for a rival.

why waste your time... the guy already said he's cheering for OTT this year and going to watch, follow them instead.

what is there not to like about Gorton, Hughes and MSL?

from what I watched from the draft and the interviews in the past couple of weeks, they seemed to be coy and a bit evasive on expectations and season-goals

I am a fan, and I'll be patient. Of course!

but, if you remember some of my posts, I follow the Habs for the pleasure it gives me and to change my mind from day-to-day life. I am not 100% committed yet to investing my free time on a team that hasn't yet given me reason for optimism

coy and evasive?  the team has been pretty clear over the last couple years of their plan and expectations. They do not need to disclose the actual particulars of day to day operations to a SEns fan trolling the Habs and their true fan base.

  10. i would think Heineman Ylonen Andersson RHP and Pezzetta are fighting for the final spot in top 12 and 1 press box (if the team is healthy to start)

    CC Suzuki Anderson

    Newhook Dach Monahan

    Slav Dvorak Gallagher

    ?? Evans Armia

    RHP

    Ylonen

    Andersson

    Heineman

    Pezzetta

Considering our roster depth... Roy, Kidney, Beck and Mesar would have to blow the lid off the Bell Centre to make the team out of camp

Id personally like to see this

    CC Suzuki Monahan

    Slav Dach Newhook

    Anderson Dvorak Gally

    RHP Evans Ylonen

    Armia

and hope Heineman is to good to send down which puts major pressure on Armia to be more consistent

    13F

    7D

    3G

I still believe we have another two moves coming our way

I thought once he got more comfortable in the NHL his offense was coming around.

the petry we're getting isn't the petry of a few years ago in the playoffs. We're getting a run down towards the end of career petry. The only value his going to have is on a playoff team playing 10mins a game as a 5th or 6th Dman and 2nd unit power play guy. Just saying I would rather give those mins to Xhekaj and further develop him.

Didn't he average 22 minutes a game last year and score more then 30 in just over 60 games?

Did you even watch him play?
