  1. Yeah. Moore's an average sized, thirty year old center that once had 45 points in a season but seems to usually score more like 15-30. I wonder why we'd want him.

....Could it possibly be in anticipation of a Plekanec (or Gomez) trade? Plekanec/Jack Johnson deal coming up, as I predicted. :D

Trade Plekanec. That would be ######ed.

  2. Two things:

With three francophones on the team, Gainey will not trade Lapierre. He sure doesn't look like the same player.

Chipchara never did a thing for me, never saw anything he did to even be in the league. When I saw that play the other night I thought buh-bye Chips. He was sent to the West Coast faster than Bouchard was after being pummelled by Stan Jonathan. I am still puzzled by Timmins, when I knew him with the Sens he was strictly a gofer, arranging players cars, housing arrangements. Always struck me as the weirdest promotion.

  3. Bu-bye Chips. Is there no one on this team that can shoot from the point? Or stand in front of the net? They need another defenceman to eat some minutes. Can we get Boullion back? As least he could carry the puck over the centre ice line plus the occasional body check.

  4. I am shocked he did not get the job. A hockey mind as great as Pierre McGuire should not be forced to waste away as a colour guy for tsn. After all he did commend Brian Burke for the way he "rebuilt" the leafs.

I'm amazed teams aren't lining up to hire him as a GM, or at the very least Special Adviser.

Who doesn't get a steady dose of Pierre McGuire???? One thing I have noticed is ever since he left Mtl he has a hardon for the Habs. To me it sounds personal on some level. Can't believe an NHL team would be ######ed enough to hire him.

  5. I already said that in another thread. Gorges has to work his ass off because he has little else to rely on: not a good passer, not a good puck handler, not a long reach or big body or great wheels. It shows whenever he's under pressure. Most of his "work" comes from putting himself in trouble in the first place.

As for him being our best offensive D with Hammer... I hope it's not true, because he has the least pts of all our D except Gill and a grand total of 7 shots in 14 games. So if you want to praise Gorges, try an epithet more fitting than "offensive".

Your out to lunch bud. Hell dont take my word for it. Listen to Murray Wilson who has forgotten more hockey than either of us will know. He is a perfectly adequate defenceman. He is not the problem on defence, it is the fact that we have too many "sixth" defenceman. You are picking on the wrong guy.

  6. Observations:

There is nothing wrong with Josh Gorges, he is being draged down by Gill. I would frankly rather see Brisebois out there.

What do you do with Kostitsyn or Latendresse, Lapierre not exactly setting the world on fire.

They totally miss Markov tonight as I watch the mobility of the Hawks defenceman.

    Chipchara is playing better.

They have been totally owned in the faceoff zone.

Mara and Spacek were good signings.

Aren't you glad they did not trade Plekanec!!!

  7. Well that late 1st goal was very welcomed. And we'll start the 2nd with a PP. Give the puck to Plex and let him feed guys, it's the only thing that works right now.

BGL is surprising. Long reach, unmoveable body, once we get Metro back our 4th should be useful again.

Which brings me to Chipchura. This sums up his contribution to the Habs: :puke: I counted a mistake every time he was on the ice. Once it was on the forecheck when he didnt read the play and should have been on the puck in the corner but was hanging out around the faceoff circle in no-man's-land. Then on the Sens goal. Then once in the corner in the Habs' zone Michalek just brush him off the puck like Chips was a 95 lbs girl, etc. It looks like Chips hasnt done anything since being drafted: no work on his skating, no work on his strength, no improvement on his play without the puck. It's Jason Ward all over again.

Totally agree about Chipchura. I have never seen a thing that has shown he belongs.

  8. Jack Todd answered my email!

    correct on the waivers.

I guess you prefer to forget last season. All part of that little game of "let's pretend."

    but thanks for your comments.

    jt

He is right. You guys are all whistling in the dark. This is not a couple of games. He does not look or play like the guy that started out so well.

  9. Everyone is always looking for a scapegoat and they go for the high profile guy.

Anyone who watched the game saw that he did all he could to rescue his poor defense on the night.

In games 1 and 2, people were ready to annoint him as a God again.

I get annoyed by these fickle journalists and freak-out fans.

Look the guy is fragile is what he is saying. There was a time when Price would not give up seven goals to anyone. He worries me.

  10. Mike Boone echoes the Chicoutimi Cucumber's take:

Do you get the unsettling feeling that l'Affair Sergei is déja vu all over again?

    It happened with Chris Chelios.

    It happened with Mike Riobeiro.

It happened with José Theodore ... which explains why the team ignored other needs and drafted Carey Price.

Under the weight of 24 Stanley Cups and the unsmiling gaze of those Hall of Famers ringing the wall of the Canadiens' room, players are expected to display the dedication and will to win of Henri Richard and Bob Gainey.

Anyone who marches to a different beat is drummed out of town.

    But Hello!

It's the 21st century. Aurèle Joliat's cap has been replaced by iPod headphones.

This is not a defence of SK74, an immature schmuck whose attitude is an insult to Brian Gionta.

    But the kid has talent.

And someone will figure out which buttons – other than Eject – to push.
