  1. I really tought I had the time to pass that stupid trafic light but noooo it turned red as soon as it was too late for me to brake and a police car was right behind me. Stupid police didnt believed me when I told him I tought I had the time to cross before it turned red.

  2. Rivet is already a very important member of our D corp and considering we will most likely loose Souray after this season, he will become even more important. It's nice knowing he wants to stay. He surely deserve to.

Resigning Markov and Rivet to long term deals should be our top priority IMHO.

  5. I have no problems with vodka but whiskey pretty much killed me after my grad. I drank an entire bottle of Jack Daniels (amongst other things). The next day REALLY sucked. :puke:

I know the feeling way too well!

I stick to beer man, brew hasnt made me puke in 4-5 years. The last time I puked with beer it was while drinking a Torréador 1.18 L bottle.. man that beer was just goddamn awful. No wonder it's not on the market anymore.

  6. I got so sick on vodka once, I was pukling my gut out for all day afterwards. Since that day I cant stand vodka.

I'll stick to my beer_bottled_molson_canadian%20(2).jpg , thank you very much.

  7. Ah Jean so you're an old Progressive Conservative who cares about the environment who is a federalist. oh I'm good.

I used to be a liberal but I got fed up with them due to their arrogance , corruption and systematic anti americanism.

If both Alliance and PC would still be arround I would be on the fence in beetween the 2.

And woa jetsniper is a left wing albertan. I tought they didnt existed! :P Liberals have like 10% in Calgary, you must feel lonely in your political choices dude.

  8. I dontk now that Ms.May so I'll give her the benefit of the doubt for now

But I hope for the Greens she dont intend to either A ) make them a one issue party or B ) turn them into a far left party like Québec Solidaire in my province

Either would mean disaster for her party.

I liked the Greens under Jim Harris even tough I'm a Conservative supporter because they were sensible. They didnt wanted a complete overtrow of the current economic system, simply to make it more environemntally friendly, and thats something I like. I hope for them they get the same position under Ms.May. They may get my vote if the Conservatives screw up.

  9. next move will be via a trade..we are to close to the cap..we need to free up some cash in order to sign ufa next summer

Our own UFAs. Souray and Rivet are both UFA next year so they're goes our margin of manoeuver. Not to mention Markov than will be RFA and will obviously look for a neat salary rise. Add to that salary rise for Higgins, Perezhogin, Ryder , Ribiero...

  10. Our guys are kicking sorry taliban butts :D

72 suspected Taliban killed in Afghan fighting

    20/08/2006 9:52:21 AM

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan were embroiled in fierce fighting overnight that left as many as 72 suspected Taliban insurgents dead, according to NATO officials.

No Canadians were killed in the fighting west of Kandahar that began late Saturday and lasted through the night. Hurray

However, the Canadian Press cited sources who reported that as many as seven Afghan police were killed in the fighting, and four Afghan soldiers were killed and another four were injured.

Though it is not clear who initiated the fighting, it took place after suspected Taliban insurgents attacked a market in Panjwaii and overran a police checkpoint, said CTV's Matt McClure, reporting from Kandahar.

"Afghan forces battled on their own for some four hours trying to repulse these insurgents before Canadian forces arrived on the scene in their Light Armoured Vehicles," McClure told CTV Newsnet.

"We're told the battle then raged through the night, some 12 hours, almost into the morning time."

Heavy artillery and coalition air support and heavy artillery were called in before the fighting ended, McClure said.

NATO said in a statement the fighting was part of "deliberate operations," in the region.

''Afghan National Security Forces and ISAF inflicted heavy casualties against Taliban fighters in Kandahar's Panjwaii district,'' the statement read.

It was ''a deliberate operation to extend security along southern Afghanistan's Highway 1 corridor.''

On Saturday, four American troops were killed and six were wounded in two separate attacks in Afghanistan.

The Taliban have been active in the Panjwaii region, the district where Canadians suffered their heaviest casualties when four soldiers were killed and another 10 were injured early in the month.

A Taliban source, who did not want to be identified, told CP late Saturday that ''the war is on.''

The recent round of fighting had calmed by Sunday morning, and no civilian casualties were reported.

In an unusual move, NATO claimed victory in the conflict.

''The latest engagement in which the insurgents have been defeated is another clear demonstration that ISAF, working with Afghan National Security Forces, is resolutely committed to bringing security to the areas of Afghanistan that most need it,'' said the statement.

The latest round of violence came as thousands of Afghans celebrated their national independence day with parades, fireworks and speeches.
