  1. ***** 5 stars

Bégin : Awesome team player, lot of energy , he block shots , play with passion , create many scoring occasions, will take on anyone in the league and would take a bullet for his teammates. Habs just arent the same without him in the lineup.

Markov : Our best defenseman by far. Can shut down any player in the league. Vital part of the PP. Must keep in the team at any cost.

    **** 4 stars

Kovalev : Best player in the league when he wants to, but needs more consistency to be a 5 stars

Koivu : Incontested leader of the team. Needs to score more goals tough to be a 5.

Rivet : Very good defensive dman. He's worth every penny.

Huet : If he repeat last year performance , he's an automatic 5.

Aebischer : One of the best backups in the league. Will keep Huet on his toes

Higgins : Our best rookie last year. He really stepped up his game in last part of the season and will be a vital part of the team for many years

    ***. 3.5 stars

Plekanec : Great defensive player but he could use some more offense

Bouillon : Great 6th dman, but he's overpaid

Komisarek : Is maturing nicely and will become more and more important over the years.

    *** 3 stars

Souray : Comit too many major mistakes to deserve any higher, but his physical presence and wicked shot are very useful assets to have.

Murray : Limited talent, but play with heart and give his 100% every night. Cant ask for much more from a 4th liner. Significant upgrade over Marcel Hossa and Balej.

Bonk : Great defensive asset, but need to display more heart and score more goals. Plus, he's overpaid.

Perezhogin : Has shown some flash of brilliance early in the season but he dissapeared afterwards. I'm willing to cut him some slack tough considering he was just a rookie.

    **. 2.5 stars

Dandenault : He's ...just they're. Needs to use his awesome speed a lot more

Downey : A goon like many others. Nothing too special about this guy.

    ** 2 stars

Ribiero : Needs to step it up big time. Coud learn a thing of two from Higgins, Plekanec and Komisarek.

Streit : Needs to keep on improving

    -- Judgment pending --

Mike Johnson : Havent seen him play before

Sergei Samsonov : I liked what I saw when he was with the Bruins altough I dont know how he will click with Kovalev

Mike Ryder : He played injured last year so I'm cutting him some slack for now.

  2. haha I'm already making my team in my head

Trade 1st draft pick to WASH for Alexander Ovenckin

Trade Ribiero+Ryder+draft pick if neccesary to COL for Joe Sakic

    Higgins-Koivu-Ovenckin

    Kovalev-Sakic-Samsonov

    Perezhogin-Plekanec-Johnson

    Bégin-Bonk-Murray

    Markov-Komisarek

    Souray-Rivet

    Dandenault-Bouillon

    Huet

    Aebischer

I think this team would be barelyyyyy under the cap :) Tough if one guy get injured I'm ######ed :D But injuries has always been pretty rare in NHL video games so I can take the risk to run on a 20 men roster.

  3. Two words: Eric Lindros

hahah I had forgotten about that

To think this guy was once traded for Forsberg and many, many others

the contact or contract(s) that put them over the cap are simply voided (not recognized by the league)

How do they decide which contract(s) have to go tough? They take the latest one(s) signed and simply cancel it, and the player(s) becomes UFA(s)?

  4. Québec won't separate as long as Boisclair is leader. He's far too incompent to convince the fence sitters.

    Québec politics are so depressing

We have Charest that accomplished very little of significance during his mandate. Our official opposition is lead by a cokehead with little grasp of the reality of middle class citizens. Then they're is the ADQ who have no program and no personality besides their leader and Québec Solidaire which I find simply .... I'll be as nice as possible.. out of touch with reality, both morally and economically.

Thank God we got Harper in Ottawa to give us some leadership.

Altough had the Federal Liberals stayed in power and Landry stayed PQ leader, the future of this country's unity would be much more uncertain

Man I want Bouchard back.. before being a separatist he's a leader for this province, someone that knows where he's going.

  5. I already know the first trade I make when getting this game

1st round pick for Alexander Ovenckin. If thats not enough I'll give more.. I HAVE to have him on the Habs!

  6. To be fair to Nintendo, Mario 64 for the N64 was one of the most revolutionnary games of all times and Super Mario World for the SNES launch was an instant hit.

  7. You must be a Montrealer if...

You pronounce it "Muntreal", not "Mahntreaal".

You have ever said anything like "I have to stop at the guichet before we get to the dep."

Your only concern about jaywalking is getting a ticket.

You understand and frequently use terms like 'unilingual,' 'anglophone,' 'francophone,' and 'allophone.'

You agree that Montreal drivers are crazy, but you're secretly proud of their nerves of steel.

The most exciting thing about the South Shore is that you can turn right on a red.

You know that the West Island is not a separate geographical formation.

In moments of paranoia, you think that there's no red line on the Metro because red is a federalist colour.

You have to bring smoked meat from Schwartz's and bagels from St-Viateur if you're visiting anyone west of Cornwall.

You refer to Tremblant as "up North."

You know how to pronounce Pie IX.

You have an ancient auntie who still says "Saint Dennis."

You believe to the depth of your very being that Toronto has no soul - but your high school reunion is held in Toronto because most of your classmates live there now.

You greet everyone, from lifelong bosom friends to some one you met once a few years ago, with a two-cheek kiss.

You know at least one person who works for the CBC, and at least one other person who used to work for Nortel.

You're not impressed with hardwood floors.

You've been hearing Celine Dion jokes longer than anyone else.

You can watch soft-core porn on broadcast TV, and this has been true for at least 25 years.

You cringe when Bob Cole pronounces French hockey player names.

    You get Bowser & Blue.

You were drinking cafe-au-lait before it was latte.

You order fries 'with sauce', not 'with gravy'.

Shopper's Drug Mart is Pharmaprix and Staples is Bureau en Gros, and PFK is finger lickin' good.

You really believe Just For Laughs is an international festival.

For two weeks a year, you are a jazz afficianado.

You need to be reminded by prominent signage that you should wait for the green light.

Everyone on the street - drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists - think they're immortal, and that you'll move first.

You're proud that Montreal is the home of Pierre Trudeau, Mordechai Richler, William Shatner, Leonard Cohen and the Great Antonio...and, you consider Donald Sutherland (and by default, Keifer), Guy Lafleur, Charlie Biddle, and Roch Carrier Montrealers, too.

You know that Rocket Richard had nothing to do with astrophysics.

You know the apocryphal story of the fat lady at Eaton's.

    You miss apostrophes.

    You've seen Brother Andre's heart.

No matter how bilingual you are, you still don't understand "ile aux tourtes."

You know the difference between the SQ, the SAQ, and the SAAQ.

You measure temperature and distance in metric, but weight and height in Imperial measure.

You show up at a party at 11 p.m. and no one else is there yet.

April Wine once played your high school (alternatively, Sass Jordon or Gowan).

You know that Montreal is responsible for introducing the following to North America: bagels, souvlaki, smoked meat and Supertramp. Also, Chris de Burgh. And Arcade Fire.

You don't drink pop or soda, you drink soft drinks.

You have graduated from high school and have a degree, but you've never been in grade 12.

The margarine in your fridge is the same colour as lard.

Every once in a while, you wonder whatever happened to Luba.

You never thought that Corey Hart was cool, but you know someone whose cousin or something dated him.

There has to be at least 30 cm of snow on the ground in less than 24 hours for you to consider it too snowy to drive.

You remember where you were during the Ice Storm.

You used to be an Expos fan, but now all you really miss is Youppi.

You're a Habs fan; always was, always will be...

You know that your city's reputation for beautiful women is based on centuries-old couplings between French soldiers and royally-commissioned whores (aka Les Filles du Roi).

You don't understand anyone from Lac-St-Jean, but you can fake the accent.

You've been to the Tam Tams, and know they have nothing to do with wee Scottish hats.

You discuss potholes like most people discuss weather.

    You encounter bilingual homeless people.

While watching an American made-for-TV movie, you realize that "Vienna" is actually Old Montreal, that "New York" is actually downtown and that the "The Futuristic City" is actually Habitat '67.

You find it amusing when people from outside Quebec compliment you on how good your English is.

You have yet to understand a single announcement made on the Metro PA system, no matter what the language.

You think of Old Montreal as nothing but a bunch of over-priced restaurants, old buildings and badly paved streets.

You understand that La Fete Nationale is not a celebration of "Quebec's birthday".

You don't find American comedians speaking "gibberish" French even remotely funny.

You don't find it weird that there's a strip club on every corner downtown

  8. As much as I would love to see Brière with the Habs, I dont think it would be a wise move for the future of the concession.. it would screw our cap room and we would have no choice but to let Rivet and Sourray go next year as UFA.

Plus Brière wil lend up the season with what.. 30 points more than Ribiero? Let say Ribs make 60 pts and Brière 90.. sounds realistic no? And Brière males 3 million more... I dont know about you, but $100,000 per extra point doesnt sounds like well spent money to me.

  9. In the very, very worst case IMO Habs finish 11th.

They're is no way IMO they can finish below , in decreasing order of suckiness : Islanders , Pittsburgh , Washington , Tampa Bay. These teams have way too much problems on their hands to hope to be in the playoffs

The northeast is a big question mark with all the changes going on.. the 2 leaders of last year are downgraded , the middle man (Habs) is the one with the less changes and the 2 bottom ones have, at least on paper, improved. Will be very interesting how badly the Sens will be hurt by the loss of Chara, Havlat and Hasek.

  10. If you really like fancy graphics than the Wii aint for ya Pierre. The improvement over Gamecube is noticeable but nowhere near the level of the 360 and PS3. It's the budget friendly option.

    Mario on the Wii

    VS

    Mario on theGamecube

Personally as I already said, I'll be happy with my PS2 and Gamecube for a while so I'm no hurry to buy a next gen console.

  11. I used to be a Nintendo fanboy when I was younger and I would probably still be if it wasnt for Final Fantasy going to the PlayStation 1 instead of the N64. Stupid Nintendo, going with cartbidges in the 64 era.. tsk tsk. All my friends and I grewth up with Nintendo but now I'm the only one that's still intersted in their products.

Now I like my games like I like my music : I buy any genre of games or music and from any company.

I still got loads of games to play on the PS2 so I'm in no hurry to pass to the next generation. If you ask me, it's coming out too early.

  12. Malakhov can't be bought out because he retired.

I tought that was still in contention? If he's really retired I mean

He retired then a few days later changed his mind because he want to touch his money but I havent followed that story since.. I'm just glad the Habs are not stuck with him anymore.
