April 10 games
Edmonton 0 Detroit 2 - END
Phoenix 0 Colorado 4 - 2nd period
Ya I doubt Chris Mason upsets anyone in the playoffs. Calgary must be happy. Maybe they'll luck themselves to another Final. He's less than 5 minutes away from blanking the Blues as we speak
Ok, blanking the Blues is not that impressive but that's still encouraging for a backup.

Any pics of Theo in Avs colours?
-
Komisarek beat the piss out of people tonight! Good job!
I noticed too.. maybe he's trying to compensate for Bégin's loss?
-
Random toughts
Why cant Habs never score into an empty net?
Why did they took 1 full period to get into the game?
Why doesn't Sundstrom at least try to keep his spot on the roster?
Who else want Sen's Neil to get punched in the face?
-
Making Bonk an healthy scratch makes no sense, he's playing his best hockey of the season since 10-15 games.
-
I guess we'll see Lapierre in the lineup then?
-
Yoopi! We get to play the Sens right in the good times! They're injuries problems arent solved yet but Chara and Redden are very close to a return. Chara would already be polaying if this was a do or die game for the Sens, but thankfully for us, it is not
-
Maybe they could send Théodore in the AHL for a few games so he get in top shape again?
I would go the safe way with Budaj until the end of the season then on with Théo in the playoff.
-
oo my bad, LA isnt completely out yet, but they're is virtually no margin of error now.
IF Edmonton loose all their remaining games IN REGULATION AND Vancouver doesnt get more than 2 points until the end of the season *AND* LA win all their 3 games, both LA and Edmonton will be at 91 points but LA will win the tie breaker with 43 wins as opposed to Edmonton's 39.
-
Oh yeah...
How come Calgary has clinched a spot but Nashville hasn't? They both have 98 points and have both played 78 games.
That's a mistake, it's now mathematically impossible for BOTH San Jose and Vancouver to catch them since they play against each other twice, and that what would need to happens to eliminate them
In other news...
Edmonton loose 2-1 against Saint Louis.. thats simply inexcusable from an EDM standpoint
San Jose owned Dallas 4-1, they're now in the playoff
Minesotta beat Colorado 5-2
LA is now eliminated because they cant catch both San Jose and Vancouver
-
Theo is back-up tonight, gets the start on Tuesday.
I heard he's in net right now, Budaj gave some bad goals so he got yanked.
-
The Canucks are to the Avalanche what the Leafs are to the Habs.
ok gotcha
On topic, Calgary and Nashville clinched their spot yesterday and the Kings are in huge trouble.. it's practically impossible for them to get a spot now
Remaining schedules for the teams that havent clinched or been eliminated yet

Ap. 10 @ Vancouver
11 @ Calgary
13 @ Edmonton
15 @ San Jose

13 @ Calgary
15 @ Vancouver
17 @ Edmonton
Edmonton - 4 games left / 91 points
Ap. 9 @ Saint Louis

13 vs Anaheim
17 vs Colorado
Vancouver - 4 games left / 89 points
10 vs Anaheim
12 vs San Jose

LA - 3 games left / 85 points
Ap 13 @ Phoenix

Nope but I'm with you, I really hoppe he will be back soon
But no worries, Bégin is a real warrior and will be back as soon as he able to, even if he have to suffer to play.. and not one game later .
-
That would seem to be the only way now.
Don't really like Carolina as a 1st round opponet, but Montreal will have to beat 'em eventually. Might as well draw em first and get it out of the way
Carolina is sucking lately, they lost again tonight.. they really took the worse time to slump
Come playoff time, I would actually prefer facing the Canes than the Devils.
-
Ah man those Devils sure are frustrating to play against.. They make very few mistakes, and when they do, Brodeur is they're to correct them. Very experienced them.. they will be a force to reckon with come playoff time.. I think I fear them more than the canes even tough they are lower than them in the standings.
Very good game by the Habs tough, against almost any team that kind of effort would have gave us a win.. but o well, I guess that's Karma getting back at us for that horrible 6-5 win @ Pittsburgh.
Can't win them all!
-
I think this is the first time in a longgg while I'm actually excited to see a game implicating the New Jersey Devils.. they are often soooo borrringgggg.. I hope it won't be the case tonight.
-
oo I see. Thanks for the explanations
Being from eastern Canada, I don't meet often Canucks fans in real life, so I didnt knew they were morphing into something like Leafs fans. Almost all the people here are either Habs or Sens fans, along with the occasional Bruins fan.
I want them to do well only because they are a canadian team, if they were in Seatle I wouldn't care about them

Calgary is 1 point away from clinching
and mm I wonder why you guys dislike Vancouver so much.. is it only because of Bertuzzi, or they're is other reasons?
-
My preference would be
1st round - Rangers
2nd - Senators
3rd - Lightning (vengeance timeeee!)
Final - Red Wings
Altough it have only a very small chance of happening.. the standings would need to be like this at the end of the season
1 - Ottawa
2 - Rangers 110pts - Rangers go on a roll : 6-0-0 in their last 6
3 - Carolina 109pts - Carolina slump and go 1-4-1 in their last 6
4 - Buffalo/Philly
5 - Buffalo/Philly
6 - Tampa
7 - Habs
8 - Jersey
Rangers are 8 points behind Carolina with 6 games left to play for both teams as we speak.. mathematically doable, but almost impossible to happen.
First round
1) Ottawa eliminate 8) Jersey
7) Habs eliminate 2) Rangers
6) Tampa eliminate 3) Carolina
Buffalo/Philly - doesn't matter
2nd round
1 - Ottawa
2 - Buffalo/Philly
3 - Tampa
4 - Habs
4) Habs eliminate 1) Ottawa
3) Tampa eliminate 2) Buffalo/Philly
3rd round
2) Habs eliminate 1) Tampa
-
It's all but settled in the east now but out west we still don't know who will make it
Vancouver - Edmonton - LA -San Jose. 4 teams in competition for 2 spots avaible..Who will make it in your opinion?
I hope for both canadian teams to make it, but San Jose is too hot to handle right now so I think Vancouver will get bounced off... They really owned the Bruins in the Thorton trade eh! That's what turned their season arround.
But LA choked, therefore Edmonton should be safe.
-
Had the olé chants going all night! What a great atmosphere! Not very hard to out-chant the sens fans though. Wow they are quiet!
haha yeah, at one moment I tought I heard them singing " Go Habs go", I was like "WTF the game is in Ottawa isnt it?"
-
Woohoo nice second and third by the Habs.. Aebischer saved our ass in the first tough
go habs go
-
Great great game by the Habs. The Bruins can consider themselves lucky to have kept it so close for so long, the second goal of theirs was very lucky and the third one was one rare softie given by Huet, while the Canadiens was missing lot of chances and were getting frustrated by Thomas..
Our attack is way too quick for the Bruins. They can thank Thomas, he was very impressive tonight. Without him it would had been 10-3, easilly.

Man Toronto won again , 6-5 vs Florida... They simply refuse to die!
HUGE night by Sundin.. 4 goals 2 assists!
Man those 2 straight wins against them are so unbelievably huge right now. Had they won both those games, Habs would be at 87 points and Leafs at... 88
