The Islanders just lost 4-nothing to.. the Penguins haha and Florida lost 3-2 (in regulation) to Carolina
So magic numbers becomes
Atlanta : 14
Toronto : 13
Florida : 11
Islanders : 7
Boston : 4

Tonight it was not a lack of ability but a lack of effort IMO. They seem to do that often against weaker teams.

We won,' play them in the playoff this year but we can officially eliminate them from the playoff by beating them

O man that game wasn't pretty. It was obvious than the Habs didnt had respect for the Caps, they played so lazilly and so below what they are capable to do. But ironically by playing so lazilly they made it much harder on themselves than it needed to be.
And the triple tie continue.. Tampa, Jersey and our Habs all have 83 points in bank.

I don't know how these guys handle all that pressure. Especially in Montréal where one minute you're a God and the other you're a looser that should be traded for a bag of pucks.

Koivu could play as great as he is capable during the Olympics with Selanne in the lineup
Kostitsyn - Kovalev - Perezhogin
Kovalev can very well the mentor of two russian youngsters. he can do it
Plekanec - Ribiero - Ryder
Adding Plekanec to the Ribiero - Ryder duo give that line more defensive ability
Murray - Bonk - Bégin
The Energy line. Bégin is giving Bonk a new life, they are great partners.
Spare : Bulis , Downey , Zednick
I really don't know where to fit them in the lineup
Gone : Sundstrom
No need for this guy anymore, plus he is an UFA after this season. Leafs, Bruins, feel free to take him.

Souray - Rivet
Simpson - Bouillon
Spare : Dandenault
Gone : Streit
Nothing much to say, I put Dandenault 7th because IMO he is our worse D overall this season. I have a feeling Streit will try his luck elsewhere in the league.

I don,t know why but the team play like crap when anyone but Huet is in goal. Add to that than Huet is the better goaler...

Personally I think the Habs have what it takes to take on anyone but Carolina. They prooved it already this year by beating Philly , the Rangers, Buffalo and even Ottawa. The only top team that always own us no matter is those Hurricanes.
Hopefully the Devils or the Lightning will slip out of the playoff and the Trashers will take their place and take care of Carolina for us
I would personally love to go against Ottawa, that could very well be the beggining of an intense rivalry in beetween both teams.

Yeah they picked the worst possible time to get into a slump.
