Stupid Bloc. It would had been a majority easilly had it not been for them.
Altough the Liberals will be too busy in fighting to give any meaningful opposition to Harper, so thats almost a majority.
-
Philly missed some open nets and easy chances, we were lucky in that regard.
To be fair, we hitted 2 posts as well (Kovy and I dont remenber who else)
-
Nice cheap shot on lats at the end of the game.. this will get ugly..
We need George back in the lineup..
It was nice to see Lats defending himself after that tough. Show 'em we wont be intimated!
Very nice comeback. Good to see we can stink for 2 periods and still win against a good team.
-
Conservatives. I still have some hope for a majority, but I think a minority is what we will end up with.
-
This is not an entertaining game to watch because the play is always stopped. No rythm at all.
That said the Flyers are playing a much better game than us, but thanks to Price we still have a chance to win it. This is a wakeup call methinks, not all the teams are as easy to beat as the Leafs.
-
Yeah, they suck.
I'll be surprised if they make the playoffs.
Who will make it in the NW, in your opinion?
For me that's by far the most intriguing division as they're is no team that truly stands out, either in a good or a bad way.
Every other div have a clear bottom feeder for instance
NE - Leafs
Atlantic - Islanders
SE - Trashers
Central - Columbus / St Louis
Pacific - LA
But the NW?
-
For some reason he seem to play much better when paired with Latendresse. I'd like to see Carbo giving it a shot sometimes.
But right now he's just.. they're. Not doing any glaring mistakes but he wont be the one who make us win, either. For a 4th liner, I guess thats alright.

Hehe, you beat me to it Joe. I wanted to create a topic to discuss this matter,
Number 1 in my mind is obviously Boston. We hate them, they hate us and we both have a very good team this season.
In normal times, Toronto would be an obvious number 2 but this is no normal times. It's hard to hate a team that's in the bottom 5 of the league with the likes of LA and Atlanta while you're in the top 5. They are in rebuild mde and they have obviously given up on this season already. It's pratically like we don't play in the same league. We just take the easy points and move on.
I would look in the Atlantic for more worthy rivalries. Games against Philly, Pittsburgh and Rangers are always hard fought intense battles and I see no reason for it to change this season. I would give the nod to Philly as number 2 rival due to our recent playoff serie but that could change.
-
Philly then Boston.. I wonder if the meeting our playoff foes so early in the season was just a coincidence, or if it was scheduled on purpose?
Anyway, these 2 good games should be really interesting. I expect fights in both. We'll have a better idea how good the team really is after meeting those 2 rivals. Buffalo's was just a warm up and beating the Leafs, while nice, is nothing to brag about. Now the real things begin.

I ALMOST feel sorry for the Leafs. When was the last time we won this easilly at the Air Canada Centre?

I'm addicted to Super Metroid. I collected all the powerups now and I feel uber powerful .

Nice ass kicking. Come on Sergei, get that hat trick

This game certainly lack emotion for a Habs-Leaf game, but eh it's hard to get emotive against a team thats almost certain to not make the playoffs.
Leafs are trying their best, but are obviously lacking in talent.
The rust seems to get away, slowly but surely. I'm confident all will be fine a few games from now. Our 2 goals sure were beauty.

The 1 point tonight is owed to Lang and Price.
I couldnt agree more on that.
-
Alfredsson is injured for at least 2 weeks. Expect the Sens to suck very bad until he returns. Last year they had 2 wins in the 11 games he didnt played...
-
Don't underestimate the Bruins.
Despite the injuries, they pushed us to a game 7.
This season, Bergeron is back, Manny Fernandez is healthy
Ryder is gonna be super motivated against us, and Julien is a great coach.
Plus, Ryder played fairly well under Julien in Montreal.
I didnt said the Bruins were a bad team, I said I didnt LIKE them
-
Are you f'ing kidding?
No. Who else besides us is remotely likeable in the NE? 'Ruins, Leafs?
The games are against them are always entertaining, lot of action and no dirty hits. As it should be.

Obviously the guys are rusty but it's getting better as the game goes on. No worries. I love the Kosto-Lang-S.Kost line.

Finally the wait is over. I appreciate the fact we open against Buffalo, I have a soft spot for their quick, talented team. I wish them sucess, excepted against the Habs of course.
-
Seems like we'll end up with a very divided parliament from a regional point of view : Bloc dominating Québec, Liberals dominating Ontario and Conservatives dominating the West. *sigh* This is the worst possible outcome.
-
WTH? I would understand the decision if we had poor attendance and the drivers didnt liked the place, but it's basically the only urban GP besides Monaco and the place is always sold out.
This is bad for Montréal, but even worse for F1 in general.

I'm already sick of this campaign, and I consider myself a political geek. I'm esepcially sick of Gilles Duceppe's fearmongering, and I'm extremly dissapointed than it seems to be working.
How do americans manage to keep their sanity trhu their 6months+ campaigns?
-
Yup, 8 to 10 PM for the French and 9 to 11 for the English one (eastern time)
Harper needs a very good performance in French to reverse the negative momentum he currentlly have in Québec. I dont want 40+ Bloc MP again

Best movie of 2008.. I'm torn in beetween Wall-E and Dark Knight personally. Nothing else even come close. Since they're so different, it's hard to directly compare the 2 tough. But I loved both to death and will buy them as soon as they come out.

Odd, because when I actually play sports I'm the opposite.
