  1. Listen dude, I'm not even a big fan of Carbo but a *sane* person would have to appreciate that his hands are tied. His best players are playing like ass. But you should start sending out your resumes to GMs, I hear they are looking for great coaches - ones who can get their teams to tie the game up in the final minute.
  2. Koivu isn't the leading scorer on the team. And I am aware of who scored tonight. But by this logic, Samsonov would be getting 20 minutes of ice time a game. These guys have been playing poorly and haven't earned the right to play in the final minute. Nor have they given Carbo any reason to put them on the ice. It's so easy to arm-chair coach a hockey team.
  3. Name one "offensive" player on this team that is getting it done? Give Carbo credit for switching things up - I'll tell ya, with the way they're playing, Kovalev/Koivu/Ryder/Higgins weren't scoring to tie it.
  4. CKAD just announced that Washington won in a shootout over Boston. Not true, Phil Kessel scored shootout winner and Boston won. Not sure how they messed that up.
  5. Don't know what Carbo is waiting for.... it's long past time to send Kovalev to the press-box. All these rumors about Habs looking for a 2nd line centre. Methinks they need a first line centre more. Huet was very average. All-star goalies need to make saves to keep their teams in a game. The only player I can't get upset with is Souray. Despite bonehead plays, he actually has some heart.
  6. The Hurricanes' girls are nowheres near as hot as the Lightning's cheerleaders (I had the grave misfortune of being at the Habs game in TB last week).
  7. I really can't say what our society believes in. I do know, however, that in the society I live in I get more than my fair share of a christian god: I hear about him in politics, in school, in the news, and even just walking down the street. I hear that some cultures in far-off countries conflict with "christian values," and I also hear, quite regularly, how some segments of this society are debasing things like traditional, christian family values. Tolerant society? Don't ask me.... but god? Yeah, I hear about him. And I was just hoping that I wasn't going to hear more about him in a hockey forum. But whatever, it's cool, I asked you - politely - not to mention it, you said you would continue to. You'll do what you want, I'll do what I want, and that's that. So have a good evening, enjoy the big Nickel, and let's hope Huet starts in net for next game. Sincerely, take care and good night!
  8. That's cool, that's who you are, and I'm not begruding that. BUt this is a hockey forum and mentions of god might make some people - like me - uncomfortable or make them not want to come back here.
  9. Shortcat, all due respect to your longevity, your veteren-ness, your 6,342 posts, but enough with the god stuff.
  10. That is a fair bit more serious than being in the secure hand of god. Good luck.
  11. Perhaps, perhaps. This is the standard line.... But I think we can all agree that with adequate goaltending - a goalie who makes the stops when he needs to - this game's outcome would have been in doubt (if not a Habs win). Switch the goalies: Habs have Nittymaki and Flyers have Abby... who wins this game? Exactly. Teams expect and need their goalie to play as well as the other team's.
  12. Hardly any tears (there is still beer in the fridge, after all), but the reason (not the excuse) for the loss was Abby, plain and simple. He was flopping like a fish on 3 of the 4 goals. Even the last goal, which certainly wasn't his fault, but he was flopping around and didn't even give himself a chance to make the saves. Huet plays, and this is a 2-1 or 2-0 win.
  13. Squash is a much better sport than racquetball - the longer racquet really improves the feel of the game.
  14. Uh, dude, with reference to your .sig, the word "######ed" has fallen out of favour. It's sorta considered offensive now, just so you know, and in case you didn't. Look at that, habsworld.net edited out r-e-t-a-r-d-e-d. They know what's up.
  15. Great game tonight. Despite the shots (38-32 Atl), Montreal was the better team. Huet was awesome and deserved a SO. Zhogs, Plex, Ryder were flying. Team was great! Hope Dandy's not hurt badly - none of us need to see more Janne.
  16. This might be overstating things a bit, but Dandenault is about 4 billion times better than Niinimaa.
  17. Boy that Koivu penalty really sucked the life out of a good power play chance.
  18. Latendresse is looking like he's for real. He gets better every game.
  19. Stuck here in the Caribbean, I only get the games from the away team's networks: for example, I'm watching this one on Fox Florida. It really makes you appreciate Canadian broadcasts. We really know how to do it right. PS - there are so many players to rip on this team before Abby. So let's take it easy on him. He's been great this year.
  20. Thanks for the updates, guys. Abby wasn't soft on that one - can't really blame him.
