Wow ... the refs are playing to even it up.
HOW ABOUT YOU JUST ASK THE COACHES TO ONLY PLAY FOUR PLAYERS FOR THE REST OF THE GAME, IT'LL SAVE US ALL TIME!
Morons...
-
What a joke of a call ... who the hell are these referees? Have we had them before?
-
My predictions for tonight :
1. Plex with 2 "litle girl" goals
2. Habs win 4-2
3. Savard injured
2 of these 3 and i'll be happy, 3 of these and the serie is our.
Wouldn't you rather beat them fair and square?
I'd hate to win this series, but know that it would have been a different outcome if they'd had their best centre (Bergeron aside), who we conveniently took out just when it seemed Boston was getting the momentum.
We don't want to pull a Carolina...

I don't think GC needs to make many changes.
Move Streit up front. Put O'Byrne on the D and sit out either Ryder or Dandenault.
Apprently the Habs will work on the PP during practise today. That is a good thing. The bruins are taking away the passing lanes during our PP. We have to find new solutions to make sure our PP clicks! It is crucial if we want to get far in the playoffs.
Stop sending the puck to Kovy along the boards, the Bruins know this play and are countering it very well. Markov and Streit need to shoot more often from the point.
Take a good look at Markov tonight. You'll notice that whenever the puck comes to him at the Blue line, he will hesistate to shoot, and that fraction of a second allows a Bruins player to cover his shooting lane! Wake up Markov! You've been our worst player out there for the past 2 games.
That's unfortunately so true. Kovalev has all but run out of tricks on the right side at the powerplay - he either shoots, and it's blocked or easily saved, or he tries to deke, and the big reach of the Bruins' penalty killers stops that short.
Here's a question - whatever happened to his one-timers? He used to be great at them, but these days, as soon as he gets the puck, he plays around with it, and all the shooting lanes are quickly covered.
Once we get that powerplay working, I think we could blow Boston away. While they're trying to limit their penalties, tempers will flare if we pull a goal or two ahead, and a game or two ahead, etc. Get the PP working, it'll bring the confidence back, and we're back on track.

Anybody read the award-winning book, Ender's Game?
He kinda reminds me of Ender Wiggin (the protagonist).
Apparently he has ADHD though, but his creative approach to getting the job done is something that needs to be harnessed by the league's members (off the ice). I seriously think he'd be a better commissioner than Gary Bettman.

Hair makes such a huge difference.
Jagr was only good when he had his mullet.
Chris Simon once scored 29 goals (yes, I'm talking about Chris "Thug-life" Simon), when he had mini-dreadlocks down to his waist.
Hockey players are the reincarnation of Samson (whoa, cross-religious themes/icons there), and should act accordingly.

-Streit has to move back to forward
-Brisebois has been okay, but I'd still rather have Bouillon or O'Byrne in there
-I'd slip Stewart in over Dandenault - but the lack experience bit does worry me...
Just some ideas. Still confident Habs will win Game 4 though.
Ditto all three.
I'd also add
- Make Latendresse do the reverse-Avery (as in, dance and do that gimmicky thing, but facing away from the goalie, which makes it legal)
- Simplify the game with the dump-and-chase (we're faster, and can take the punishment)
- Don't ever get caught with your legs not moving. It'll be tiring, yes, but it has cost us already.
-
Maybe time for some new blood, or perhaps Koivu is feeling a bit healthier.
Our PP needs a lot of work, we could easily have won this game if we'd been able to capitalise on any of the four opportunities.

Cardiac Kids ... keep up the momentum boys!
-
Poor Price.
He's trying to avoid the Roy comparisons, yet the Habs just can't seem to avoid OT.
I wonder if the refs will put the whistle away for the period?
-
Agreed. I gotta get up ar 5 for work...
Seconded. It's coming up to 5am and I have to go to work.
-
We outshot them, that's a start.
As long as we don't bother about matching lines, just work on getting the puck to the net, we might make it out alive.
-
Mo the Mentum Killer?
-
Yeah, Komisarek has to go Komisarek-on-Joe-Thornton on Lucic.
I'd be content with Komisarek-on-Donald-Audette if we couldn't get K-on-JT
-
Haha, Tonka Tom was also known as Tom Non-stopolous back in juniors.
We have the best team for nicknames, even if every third player starts with a K.
-
Boy, I sure do love Tonka Tom-K.
Any clues as to what's up with Hamrlik?
-
It'd be nice to have Bouillon-O'Byrne back there right now...
Agreed.
At least Dandenault isn't alone as the only player with a negative +/-
But I'll give him a few periods to take the lead again.
-
So far these playoffs, teams that score first win 90% of the time.
We need to buck the trend.
-
Anyone got linkage for tonight's televised game?
-
Lats-Laps-Stew would be lot of rookies on the same line. Not sure I'd want that.
Dandy might not look that great, but he's a vet and I'm sure he's a calming presence to the kids. We don't have those in abundant supply you know. Kovy, Dandy, Breezer, Smoke, Hamrlik... that's about all the experienced vets we've got.
The commentators were calling Ryder a veteran last night, and considering he's a UFA this summer, I think it's pretty accurate.
Meanwhile, Bouillion is 33, Streit is 31, and Kostopolous is almost 30.
Sure, we have a bunch of rookies and young 'uns, but for the ice time that Dandenault is playing, I don't think we could do any worse with Stewart. And from what we can tell, he knows when to put up his dukes (not a loose cannon), and probably wouldn't be afraid to take on the behemoth that is Char-Grill.
And while I want to see O'Byrne in, I can't really fault Brisebois on his play thus far.
But will Bouillion, when healthy, replace Brisebois?
-
We're lucky that we won't have the jinxing idiots chanting 'Ole' every time we get a two goal lead.
Seriously, it's not even funny anymore. Maybe I'm just super superstitious, but I really think the 'Ole' chant is a weapon of mass destruction if in the wrong hands.
After a win, or in a blow out when we're ahead by 4 goals, sure.
But when we're barely holding on to a 2-0 lead (which, as we saw yesterday, counts for nothing), it's bloody stupid.

I,m watching the game with a friend of mine. so far we haven't seen montreal lose when we watch it together !!
Dammit son, you marry this friend! Tonight!
And if it's a guy, then take one for the team! We need this win!
-
Got to love winning a game that you didn't deserve. Habs stole this one for sure.
Make you wonder, if the Bruins can't beat us in a game like this, when can they?
At home ...
Will be interesting to see if O'Byrne and Stewart get a chance tomorrow.
Injury updates? Kost/Lapierre/et al?

Honestly, is there a way to complain about officiating? I know what they say about looking gift horses in the mouth, but FFS, this is getting ridiculous.
It's the playoffs, lighten the hell up...
