  1. I want Kolzig to back up Price next year. He'd be the perfect mentor, even if Roland Melanson gets a bit jealous.

I think that this would be a perfect situation for Price, as Kolzig is part owner of the Tri-Americans (Prices junior team). And They already have a foundation for a mentoring relationship. I read an article once about how Kolzig was giving coaching advice to Carey, and about how he thought Carey was going to be a great goalie.

If I remember correctly his advice was something like "never let your opponent see that you are frustrated, be calm and cool at least on the outside" or something to that effect.

I say we should trade some combination of Halak, Striet, Dandenault, Begin, Gabrovski for some help up front, in the Jeff Carter mold (Fast, big, Can score, young, basically I want Jeff Carter on the Habs), then try to sign Kolzig.

    Just my opinion

  2. If it is possible....I think I have a man crush on Carey Price and Kovalev.....and Streit, and Gorges.....come to think of it Komisarek as well, and both Kostisyn brothers, ah what the hell I love this whole team.

There I said it I Love the Montreal Canadiens.....in a very manly way of course

    Go Habs Go

  3. There are times I wish we had Toronto's heart (maybe this year excluded). Say what you want about the Laffs, but I live in T.O and have seen A LOT of their games. The team has jam, and they always fight to the last buzzer. Having said that, their fans on the other hand are pathetic and think they are the centre of the universe - maybe medicority and cupless for 40+ years gets them excited about the smallest things. Would be nice to beat them on Saturday, not from the revenge standpoint, but to put a nail in their coffin.

was that something positive about the leaves....? Blasphemr

  4. Holy crap, you too??

Thats a coincidence, i did excactly the same, cuz we lost a couple with my new jersey.

    lol ;)

I know it sucks not to wear such a sweet jersey but losing sucks even more.

Two years ago I went south to Cuba for the first week of the playoffs, and the Habs won both games, the night I came home...was the night Koivu got eye attacked by that SOB Williamson...so I'll be south again this year for the first week.

If we win the first two games, then a freak injury happens, everyone can blame me -_-.

    Don't worry I will ;)

  5. My wife bought me a brand new RBK Higgins jersey for Christmas its really sweet, but I started to notice that everytime I would wear it we would lose.

So I don't wear it anymore, instead I place it on a chair in the TV room with the numbers facing outwards, it has been sitting there for a long time...months probably.

Also if I happen to miss the beginning of a game and we are winning I am "not allowed" to watch the rest of game. For instance I missed the first 2 periods of last nights game against the Sens but I watched the third period. And we all know how that ended....the only reason I watched it was because we had a 6 goal lead and I thought "theres no way we can lose this game". When it got to 7-5 I turned the channel and just caught the Highlights after.

I actually believe I am a curse but I just Couldn't help myself, I mean 7 freakn 1 for crying out loud.

  6. This team needs to prove they can hold their own without him. Gorges playing with Markov will take some pressure off Markov... it definitely means that the pairing won't have the physical dimension it once had, but Gorges is low maintenance and Markov won't be covering for him like he would O'Byrne.

I expect Hamrlik to get more assignments against bigger opponents, and looking down the stretch, that'll primarily be Sundin. Markov-Gorges might work vs. the big Ottawa line and Buffalo and Boston. Just have to be more creative, I guess.

And the last thing I'd want to do in this situation is throw another rookie into the mix. Valentenko or Carle aren't ready for this type of game. We sink or swim with the 8 D we got.

    Agreed

  7. It IS odd that the Habs seem to have *zero* faith in Halak despite his excellent work down the stretch last season. It's eerily akin to the way the LA Kings viewed Huet as disposable garbage, even though he provided excellent #1 goaltending during a stretch run for them.

I'd wager that Bob is still trying to work out what to do with Huet contract-wise and wants a better bead on Price's credentials as a starter next season.

I'd say that is a fair conclusion.....personally I think we should resign HueT for 2 more years if he'll do it, we could always trade him next deadline

  8. Yeah, some will say this rumour doesn't make sense. Vis-à-vis; why would Calgary move Tanguay for a UFA risk in Ryder? BUT, why did Burke trade Andy MacDonald to St. Louis for Doug Weight? So he could afford Coery Perry. Maybe Calgary is doing a similar deal to retain Phaneuf.

Suter is too good a GM to let that deal happen.....Tanguay is twice the player Ryder is, lets not kid ourselves here

  9. Afternoon game??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?......WTF

I gotta work till 3:00......well somebodies call'n in sick tomorrow, and it better not be any of the Habs. (this Flu thing worries me)

thats it I'll tell my boss I got the flu from the Habs and the only way to get over it is to watch them play tomorrow at 12:30, improbable yes....impossible no.

  10. I am very suprised by the play of Kovy, I thought he was terrible last year, I thought he had given up. Now I realize that he is just top proud to be mediocre, I dare say he looked good with the C on his shoulder last night.

I am also very pleased with the play of Markov... he is showing that he's worth the raise....

  11. Would Mike Keanan be stupid enough to trade him for Ryder? They're both UFAs at season's end.

And during an intermission on RDS they said that Tampa is trying to get rid of one of their big salaries. It would likely be Richards, cause he's the worst of them.

But if they were to trade Lecavalier, here is a package that they might consider:

    Koivu or Kovalev

    Komisarek

    Halak or Huet

    1st round pick

That's a hell of a lot to give up, but that's what premium players are worth.

Thats almost worth it....I would sorely miss Komisarek but, Lecavalier would make me forget about him I'm sure

  12. And to top it all off they, they lost to Rask in his NHL debut.

It would really give me great pleasure to see them realize that they made a big mistake with Racroft (but they probly didn't). JFJ should have been fired immediatly after the game.(although I am glad he wasn't cause now he can continue to help the leaves a suck for a while yet)

I didn't watch the game (cause that would be blaphemous), so I don't even know how well Rask played, but it doesn't matter, because leaves lost and thats what is really important.

I don't think it is possible to put into words how much I dislike the Leaf Organization. They are the antithesis of everything I like about hockey (the Habs). They are the Yankees to my Red Socks, the Lakers to my Celtics, Islam to Christianity (not that I have a problem with either, I'm Buddistish), the China to my tibet.

But most importantly they are the "Flagship Franchize" in the NHL, this really burns my ass. I am subjected to them on CBC, Sportsnet, and TSN (occationally). I am in the Leaf bible belt of Ontario (Niagara) so therefore most of my friends are Leaf fans. I realize that they can't help it, they have succumed to the willfully unjust media propagation of Corporate Southern Ontario, but that doesn't make them any less anoying when they talk about how good a defenceman Kubina is, or how Antropov is finally going to get the recognition he deserves. Sorry to burst your bubble but he already has, he stinks.

    where was I.....

oh yeah Leaves lost. GO HABS GO
