    You can.

The team receiving the player has to agree to the trade though... and have full details of the injury.

Sabres got Evander Kane while he was injured.
We traded Theodore to Colorado while he was injured.

Ya I for got about the Kane thing.

I heard somewhere (can't remember) that Anaheim would be interested in Gallagher for one for their D-Men and thought at the time ya maybe that makes sense from a pure hockey deal point of view.  Except Gally was injured and didn't know if it could be done.

The point is that he's not elite.

And Galchenyuk is a 60 point player at 22 not 26.... its not the same.

if you want to trade Sergachev for MacKinnon I'm all ears, but Galchenyuk is improving, MacKinnon is improving... at 26 Duchene is what he is.

I agree with you that Duchene is what he is and he is not elite, but I just took a look at his Stats....he has had some good years.  67 points in his sophomore year, and he has been very close to a point per game for a couple of years.  He would make our team substantially better for a long time as his "prime" years are still ahead of him.

I don't actually think it would happen but its cool to speculate. Him playing with Lehkonen would be great. In a year or so when Lehkonen really finds his game he will need someone who can keep up with him and Duchene has speed to burn.

He projects to be better than McDonagh.

And Duchene projects to be better than Gomez...

but this is besides the point because even if the Sergachev/Duchene deal did happen it is not the same as the McDonagh/Gomez.

    1) Duchene's contract is no Albatross,

    2) He has been consistently good for years on a team that has been Mediocre at best, (30 goal, 60 point seasons are very good in this league)

    Also

    3) He fills a need that the Habs have had for years. (Scoring)

    4) Quality Defencemen can be found every year at the trade Deadline or off season.  While scoring centers are much harder to acquire.

I think if there is a deal to be made Bergy should do it.

Think about it this way, if Sakic called Bergy and offered a highly touted D prospect for Galchenyuk would he take it, probably not, but put the shoe on the other foot and we don't even want to give up the prospect.  You have to give something to get a player like Duchene, and it will probably be more than just Sergachev.

  4. I think the likelihood of landing Tavares is almost 0%.  The Islanders would be the worst organisation in the league if they let there franchise player go for anything other than another franchise player.   I just don't think there is a fit.... we don't have the pieces

if I were Bergy I would be calling the Avalanche on a daily basis to get Duchene.  Bergevin has said on multiple occasions that high quality centers are just not available, well this one is and is probably as affordable as he is ever gonna be.

He has a tonne of speed, can find the back of the net, and will be cheaper to acquire and resign than Tavares.

  5. I thought for about half a second that MT would let pacioretty take Biron's spot on the first line after his penalty in the third.

When he came out of the box with about 3 mins left they were accidentally all out together and had a good scoring chance setup by Patches.  But very next shift BIron back out there.

So disappointing, I mean is there a better time to put your best three forwards out altogether, 2 mins left and down a goal.      SMH    :tumbleweed:

Trouba is getting overrated big time.

Does he have potential? sure he's young and still does.  But he hasn't proven as much as fans give him credit for.

ya I was thinking the same thing......what makes this kids so special?

  7. Hahahahaah!

    What's this about trading PK?

The thought occurs to me.. what an excellent site this is with so many of you guys so richly contributing your great smarts and personalities .. luv it. Thanks.

I think you should find a rag to wipe the brown off your nose. ;)

I assume your talking about me?

  8. I believe tics don't go on sale in Mtl until Sept 10, the plan is to go see TB on Oct 27 and the leafs on the 29th. I've never bought tickets before but was told to just take the day off work and get in a cue through Club 1909. Hopefully it goes smoothly.

That sounds like a great trip. TBL and TML back to back is a great way to see your first game at the bell center.

Make sure you take a walk down to old Montreal if you've never been there, its a great place to go for a stroll.

  9. Which game you going to see?

I just got some tickets to the Buffalo home opener against our Habs. I only live about 1/2 hour from Buffalo.

Be nice to see two good teams in Buffalo for a change (Usually its just us)

  10. How would he *@"" this up and why is that even a possibility. He had team ripping up league for 3 straight years before the one write off year. SO I expect a return to coasting back into playoffs once again.

    Go Habs Go!

Oh man...why did you have to say that out loud...now we are doomed for sure

  11. Radulov is the most purely offensively talented player in this class, not named Steven Stamkos.

We didn't get an Alex Semin.

We got a better version of Alex Kovalev.

Also Radulov does backcheck and play two-way hockey, he was doing that very well and was the best all-around forward in the KHL. Don't think that he can't play in his own end, he can, and does.

I really hope your right about this one
