  1. 67-14-11

    21-51-8

as much as I would love to see Eller become the second line center, I just dont think its going to happen.

This is the lineup that I think will start the season

    67-14-11

    27-51-Semin

    21-81-8

    25-17-22

But if Galchenyuk can pry the #2 center spot away and/or Kassian looks good during camp I hope to see something like this

    67-14-11

Semin-27-8 (if semin and Galchenyuk have chemistry it will be really fun to watch)

    51-81-21

    25-17-22

  2. Why did we buyout PAP? Doesnt seem we needed his money enough to take on caphit for several years.

    probably a bunch of reasons....

-he was taking up a spot for a potential young player

-could still use his money for an acquisition/Gallchenyuk

-MB didn't appreciate the way his agent dealt with the amount of his ice time last year and just wanted him gone

Personally I'm glad hes gone....would much rather have Hudon or Adrigetto or McCarron get some playing time

  3. Troy Brouwer and Pheonix Copley and a third-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft for Oshie. OH COME ON! We could have had him easily.

I knew this was going to happen....as soon as a deal happens we jump all over it with "why couldn't we pull that off?"

but there is really no way of knowing what St. Louis would have asked for from the habs.

McCarron or Sherbak was definitely involved, along with Fucale and a pick.

is it still a good deal?

  4. I have a good feeling about this deal. I liked Prust but he was gone no matter what at the end of the year, so MB moved him for a return. If it works out for us good, if not then its not a big commitment. Plus there is a chance we hit a home run on this deal.

  5. Sorry, Petry of course.

Hmm? So since Tinordi (nor Pateryn) wouldn't clear waivers and wont have 2 d-men sitting in pressbox come Oct.

Which one is destined to go this summer (or within next week)? Gilbert or Tinordi?

If they absolutely need the money then Gillbert Probably be the next one to be cut, but I think MB will stay the course with his Defense for the first half of the year to make sure the young guys are ready.

  6. Kassian is a bottom 6 guy.

Buffalo traded him away when they saw him play in Rochester and he couldnt even accept a pass.

$750,000 in cap savings and getting rid of Prust and his negative partying influences on Galchenyuk and Gallagher is what this is

I never heard of any negative Partying influences.... and are you seriously from Port Colborne?

  7. Everytime anyone posts a trade proposal, there is so much nonsense about trying to make a real proposal to proposals that are a hell of a lot better than what the Bruins got for Hamilton and Lucic. Anyone suggesting the deal that went down would have been ridiculed for saying that Lucic would have gone for a backup goalie (Someone only a slight upgrade over Tokarski), a defensive prospect (not much better than Pateryn - certainly not Beaulieu quality) and a 1st rounder out of the top 10 (13th pick) - AND the bruins pick up $2.5M in salary.

Who would have thought that Hamilton would have gone for a first that is outside the top 15 and two 2nd round picks???

These deals and similar deals happen all the time, but suggesting moving Pleks and a couple of prospects for Yakapov is ridiculed by some of the experts on this site!!

I agree that no one saw those two deals happening, but I think its also safe to say that the Bruins got the short end of both of those deals. You cant assume in most cases that you can rip off another team.

Most people give management too much credit for being shrewd negotiators (thank god that Sweeny isn't our GM). I think he wont be the Bruins GM for too long if he makes deals like those consistently.

  8. The days of trading players' rights for notable draft picks have come and gone as a result of the free agent interview period. The only way you'd get anything in a rights trade is if you get a team desperate to make an early splash that is willing to give you a fourth or a fifth rounder.

ya I forgot about that....regardless, if the price isn't ridiculous MB should consider it. He would be the best center on the team and isn't tied up for a multiyear contract. If you can dump an overpriced contract then it is definitely worth it. (provided you don't give up a top young player like either of the Gallys)

  9. I really don't mind the idea of getting E.Staal, and I think he could be had for something reasonable. At only one year left on the cap its not a big risk, and if it doesn't work out or you know your not going to be able to sign him, trade his rights next year for a 2nd or 3rd.

If we can include Eller or Emelyn or both in that deal than we are winners no matter what as both of those players are getting too much money anyways. We would either have Staal (if he works out for us) or cap space.

  10. I would be fine with a Plex + Emelyn for O'Rielly.

Now that Petry is signed, sealed and delivered..what do you suppose MB could do next? New contract for AG, Beaulieu, and/or Tinordi? Pull the trigger on a suspected Plek(and then some)/O'Reilly trade? What to do with Gilbert? Any contract buyout? Or focus on the draft?

  11. No matter what else happens I would love to see chucky at center. But he would thrive in a situation where he didnt have to be the man right away. It would behoove MB to bring in an experienced Vet Number one Center like Thornton or Backes to insulate Chucky for a couple of seasons before feeding him to the best defenders in the league.

Thornton only has two years left on his current deal so it would be ideal, provided he waives his no move to come to Montreal. MB seems slick enough to make it happen.
