Hi guys! LOL I am 25 and I just bought my first car...used...2004 Hyundai Accent GL : )
-
Thanks man : ) It is a beautiful game.

BTH, how old are you if you do not mind my asking? We are of mixed ages...mixed leves of ability, but the important thing is the atmosphere is fun..and friendly.
Macaskill, Perfect than you know Cegep Andre Laurendeau...near where you live..this is one of the indoor places we are thinking to rent to play once a week starting ASAP...
Habsfan24, too bad indeed...however you are always welcome to pop by and participate in a match.
habs_in_the_blood, Laval is tricky, unless you have a vehicle. If you are interested in playing soccer, come on down! Many of us are italians, however it is like the UN of culture in our soccer matches! I will never forget the brazilians who play with us...BAREFOOT! (and some players were playing with studs...ie cleats)
-
Good point indeed, I did not know he resided there.
-
Hey guys
All players all levels are welcome to join our games. What I normally do is email everyone with the info. If you are interested in trying out a few free games or in the places ill rent for indoor you are more than welcome to participate.
Just give me your email address and I will add you to the email list.
Fromage, yes it is true if you live in the WI it could be a little bit of a hassle traveling great distances on the mtl island.
marky_and_komi, we definitely need goalies...!!!
Nesquik, its not about who is better, all sorts of different people play with us, different levels of ability, the important thing is the atmosphere is fun and friendly...ironically enough most if not all of us are die hard habs fans...
Pierre the Great, BTH is a good soccer player? Excellent we shall have to convince him to play with us. I like his posts. What about you no interest in playing with fellow habs fans?
-
Hello Tony,
Many of the games right now are indeed in St Leo / Anjou, however for the indoor ...futsal...we are probably renting the da vinci centre in st leo and / or a cegep near Agrignon metro station...
-
Hey fellow soccer fans! My friends and I enjoy weekly pick up games indoors and outdoors, we are trying to up it to once a week indoor games and on weekends outdoors until the weather permits...
Drop me a line if you are interested in playing.
-
Gentleman...lest we forget as a whole our team needs to be way more disciplined and stop taking useless and needless penalties if we are too challenge for the cup and 100pts plus in the regular season....
-
Abi stats last year were way below the NHL avg so perhaps he could be considered "bad" for teams who aspire to be elite ie us...
-
"particularly me - would rather watch the Habs lose with Bouillon than win with someone better in his place"
??????????????????????????????
I suppose by your logic that would put me in the minority, because ideally I would like to see the habs win....
With or without Frankie B.
Honestly I just want the best players for our team...that does not only mean skill wise...but mentally as well...interms of work ethic etc...professionalism etc.
-
yup dont use firefox use ie for tsn's broadband also click the actual word broadband
-
Streit is more of a playmaker than finisher no?
Straight up.I made the poll because it's a nice way of assessing just how the board feels about the major move of the summer, i.e., the loss of Souray and the gain of Hamrlik.
This is not to imply that Bob made the wrong move. Just to focus our minds on whether this team is *really* better off with Hamrlik.
I "think" so...or maybe more accurately I hope so....
Time will tell if Hamrlik was indeed and "upgrade"...I am hopeful...
In hindsight I knew it was a big mistake to keep Souray just before the deadline...in hopes of signing him...later...I feel that his trade value and his UFA status AND our policy of non negotiating during the year made him a prime candidate for a trade...Bob G gambled on Shelly resigning etc and lost...
-
yeah...i was just thinking...of the friendship of biron and briere...now we know the true reason briere went to the flyers
Joke.
Was the goalie biron a waiver pick up? not bad eh for a waiver pick up? better than leighton no? Habs could..would have gone for biron goalie as waiver pick (if we didnt have price / halak ) and then briere would have come to mtl....sigh...
-
Which young guys will crack the roster...
I believe both Price and/or Halak will be involved in the said cracking...I am certain the top brass are ready for all variables in the goalie dept...
D men..I believe Valentenko/Obyrne are the top contenders...again it all depends with camp and what the brass think...I do not want to seem like im going on a biron campaign or anything but he was our leading scorer for dmen in hamilton...and has stated his determination to make it with us...
Forwards...Is Lahiti really that young? he will have to prove his worth etc like everyone else...From what I have heard it is a battle between Grabovski and Locke...Again...If a player like murray goes down we will call up someone like chips ferland? or milroy..."promising 2 way guys..role players etc" if a skilled finesse player etc goes to injury then we will see call ups like locke or grabov..depending on their form...
All this said and done I am convinced Kosto (elder) is a lock on the 2nd line what have you provided he has a decent camp...
Just my thoughts!
-
Yeah...just saw it before I saw your post...I was thinking of letting people know on habsworld...you beat me to it
Anyhow I liked the story...It seems he may have a chance to crack the habs lineup...However Obyrne is the frontrunner no? Biron apparently has stated his case and has mentioned his determination...seems like we have quite a battle heating up for the habs final defenceman..
Baring trades...
Markov, Komi, Hammer, Promoted D man here, Cube, Dandy, Gorges, Streit
Will Streit actually play D? Or be the "ultimate" Utility player...hmmmm, as for goerges...I think the habs brass see him as a reserve defenceman...am I missing anyone?
-
ah yes thank you / merci
GO HABS GO!!!!
-
mathieu30: ok thanks for the info : ) (What is your source?)
CoRvInA: I have no idea....

The TSN profile on Kostopo is pretty funny:

QUOTE
Assets: Likes to play a North-South game and is strong along the wall. Defensively responsible, he's also a potential captain down the line.
Flaws: Has limited scoring ability at the NHL level, and doesn't do enough in other areas to keep a regular job in "the show".
Career: potential Reserve winger.
A potential captain that can't keep a regular job. That's funny.
Yup I was thinking the same thing!!!!

Hi.
Yes I agree with you...A lot of teams really threw in a lot of eggs in one basket...
As much as I would have loved to see gomez or whatnot in a habs jersey..bob g knows that overpaying players...with inflated contracts and long term deals can have serious reprucussions...
-
yes it does seem that obyrne is the highest on the depth chart and move up to the pro ranks...
was trying to sound out what you all thought ...or have seen of biron...
-
Especially considering how Dan Jancevski is moving on...
Shelly might not sign....
Streit will be used as a forward...
Dandy and Cube...may be moved...
What are the chances of Mathieu Biron on the habs pro roster...2007/2008
This guy is a former first round pick...has an "interesting" scout report...
Secondly...how well or unwell did he fare with the Hamilton Bulldogs...according to his stats he was "OK"
-
TSN.ca Reported that the Canes interviewed Esposito 3 times etc and They will draft him...
Couture seems like a good pick...at 12

Giovanni - I had friends who travelled to Benfica for the game and had an awesome time in your city and at your stadium (they loved the eagle before the match!). They keep in touch with a hardcore group of Benfica fans who came to Anfield for the return leg.
Tokyo- Much love to the hoops, but I would say that...being Catholic and of Irish ancestery
Anyway, sorry for hijacking the thread. No idea where you would start with the poll G. What website do NHL fans worldwide visit? nhl.com is the only one i reckon.
tokyohabs
Well, Celtic have the advantage of being in a two-team league, whereas you have three (and occasionally Boavista). I'd say we have a shade less pedigree than you, but two great old clubs. Much respect to Liverpool as well, the most Irish team in the world after us. Online voting poll, like the All-Star-Fitzpatrick-Game? Great idea. Gentlemen, start your mouses...mices...

Brutus: Heheheh cool, I lived 4 years in Lisbon, it was a nice place, I loved the eagle too but its a shame our stadia is always empty and only the supporters groups sing at the matches...No worries about the "Hijacking" It was a welcomed hijack, I am here to discuss things with fellow habs fans etc...no biggy, you did also post on topic.
Tokyohabs: Much appreciated comments just like Brutus' You are right though...online voting polls etc...is just a click fest..shame we can't really have it done online...My brother used to work for ipsos and reid...
going back on topic...would you not want to know how many habs fans there are world wide? And compare them with the other clubs?
-
Brutus: I guess you do make a point. If I get the jist of it...people are TO fans because they actually have a TO connection...not because of their history or glory hunting etc...So Hence...you are saying us habs can get fans purely on our history?
I was not at the Stadium of Light (Estadio Da Luz) when Benfica played Liverpool (SOLD my tickets on Ebay...) I can understand your frustration. Honestly though Brutus...I love benfica with all my heart HOWEVER, as ardent and fervent football fan one can easily see that liverpool are GREAT club, with great players. Benfica can not even put up a decent fight against Sporting or Porto in the Portuguese League. Hard times for the sleeping giant that is benfica...us benfica fans and habs fans of bith of the year 1982 and forward enjoy the curse of cursing our clubs both benfica and the habs for since our birth our greatness has come to a brutal death...
I long for the days of glory for both benfica and the habs.
I am sure habs are in the right direction, for the most part...benfica is up a creek without a paddle...and well liverpool has a great manager in benitez and is a great team...(At least on paper)

Amusing post! I would LOVE it for Canada to boast 18million habs fans.
Again, im a huge benfica fan, but it does not compare to the quality of celtic or liverpool...its soo painful to see the habs in dire straits and see benfica suck soooooo bloody much...
Is there a way we can do some sort of online poll to see which club has more fans worldwide? or are online polls doomed by who erm...click the most...?
