Team 990 says
OB and Grabs are in Ryder and Dandy out.
I'm happy about OB. A little nervous about Grabs, geez I wish Koivu was ready.
-
I have to say I enjoy threads and posts based on how amazing we are and how we are going to win the cup more so than adjustments we need to make and stepping because the other team has.
I'm going to jump ahead now to Game 5.
" Wow!!!!!! the boys sure played great last night. PP finally rocking again. Nice 4 point performance by the little girl. Let's rap this thing up on Thursday!!!!!!"
GO HABS GO!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe Carbonneau should:
1. Change the top line - move Andre to the 2nd line and put Ryder on the top line. Yes, I know Ryder plays RW, but Kovalev is versatile enough to play LW + that keeps him away from Chara or forces Chara to play RD which would expose him maybe. Also, Ryder plays sniper because both Plekanec and Kovalev are set-up guys and we don't have to see Ryder fruitlessly trying to carry the puck in only to lose it.
2. Move Andre to the 2nd line with Higgins and Sergei. The 2 brothers may click and get creative.
Boston would then be forced to change their game plan, because 2 lines are a threat. Anyway, just a thought.
I think that would look more like a panic move. I don't think we need to tear apart what's been working all year, extremely well I should add. Carbo needs to get back to what was working. Sit Dandy and Brisebois, bring Streit back up to forward, get Boullion and Obyrne back in because we need their big hits and pray to god Koivu is ready soon. Koivu is our only hope to get the powerplay rolling again and get some attention off of Kovalev line. We are a better team, but only by a little in the skill and speed department so in general the boys need to take it to the next level right NOW. Price has been great, our defensive game has been great. WE NEED GOALS!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT"S IT, THAT"S ALL. SCORE MORE!!!!!!!
-
Hopefully, Julien will be doing this in a few days trying to figure out what went wrong.
Tim Thomas, Cam Neely, ?????, Claude Julien

Price thrives pressure:
World Juniors
Calder Cup Run
Game 1 VS Boston
HE WILL COME THROUGH!!
and?
If we don't get goals he won't be able to come through. He's been great since game one. He almost had Savards overtime goal. How about someone else get a goal instead of Smokes or Kosto.
Can't wait for Koivu to get back so not all the attention is on Kovalev. Hopefully Tuesday.
-
Actually we don't need him.
Higgins is doing a heck of a job as a second centermen, using his speed and good defense coverage.
His line scored the first goal.
It's not a matter of needing him or not. He's our captain, it would be great to have him back. I'm sure most of the team feels that too.

YEAH IT WASSSSSSSSSSSS
LET IT RAINNNNNNNNN
Was it really? It was quick but you let out a whoo!!! and then the camera went to commercial. So funny I have no idea who you are but I recognized you anyway from pics you've showed online. That's kind of scary......
Nice one. JMMR makes it on CBC!!!!!

One step at a time mahn. One step at a time. Let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet.
Congratz to the Habs for winning game 1.
Agreed. I'm sure we'll see a better Boston team on Saturday. I'm alittle blown away how shit they played tonight. Chara is playing hurt, same with Savard, they need help. I'm sure Bergeron will be around on Sat......I don't mind but I was hoping for a little more intensity.
-
Milan Lucic: the perfect example of a shitty Boston Bruin.
No ...Chara is
-
was that dude before the break JMMR?
-
savard's yellow stick is annoying me
-
Why does Kovy keep giving the Bruins the puck?
-
Man .....I like Ryder when he's not hungover
-
ooooooooo lucic is tasting glass
-
Love Lats shaved, I want to see breezers skull.
-
Who wants a smoke?
-
Did you guys notice at the start of the game when the cameras showed the bruins coming out of the locker room that one player snorting that stuff....what was it? smelling salts?
-
Announcers keep saying Price looks shaky. He does look nervous, we need another goal before period ends.
-
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!
TlTS
-
So Gorges shaved Kosto's head, then Kosto shaved Gorges head. Latendresse then shaved his head joined by Boullion and Brisebois. Kosto said he was surprised to see Breezer join in the game since he is so proud of his locks.
Let some play-off unity begin with some bald Habbers running around. This is going to be fun.
GO BREEZER GO!!!!!!!!!
GOHABSGO!!!!
-
Komi needs to set the pace. Milan Lucic will be gunning for him right off the bat, Komi needs to hurt him right away so he thinks twice about his actions. Don't forget about The Hammer. That boy can hit too.
First loss and Breezer is out. Hopefully that won't be tonight. How many play-off games does one need to write their name on the cup? I'm sure Carbo is just filling that quota with Breezer right off the top so he doesn't have to worry about it
-
Seems like Carbo will be using Vets a lot. It's O.K. Let O'byrne watch and learn, and take down numbers so when it gets heavy he'll know exactly who to pound. It will be a good "Let me in coach! Let me in!!!!!" kind of eager mind frame.
It is a little strange to sit size and muscle against the B's but maybe that's the trick. Go completely opposite of their game plan.
GO CARBO GO!!!!!!
-
I was just thinking about our powerplay. That one move Kovy, Markov and Plex, do, quick passes to the right side of the net seems to be in a slump. I've noticed any little hesitation on their part and the opposing goalie looks brilliant. It's obvious that part of the power play has been found out. I hope they have something new up their sleeve.
ATTENTION 1st powerplay UNIT.
If for some reason you stumble with the puck for even 1/3rd of a second on that set play.....DON'T SHOOT!!!!!!!!!!
Quickly feed BIG TlTS waiting on the otherside. Everyone will get busted including Thomas. You hear me Kovalev? Plex?
O.K I'm done being coach, but I'm getting sick of goalies gloving those shots, we need to f**ck it up a little.

I am fairly confident about this series, but when the media starts jumping on the Bandwagon it makes me nervous.
You and me both.
I'm enjoying the powerhouse talk, but it's a double edged sword. We all have to remember our boys hit us with unexpected success this year and anything past the first or second round will be fine.
I would really love it all this year because who knows how much Koivu and Kovalev have left, They both deserve to win a cup in Montreal sooner than later.

On TSN Video they were saying Kovy's been having problems skating because his blades have been worn down so much the plastic was rubbing the ice on sharp stops and turns. Having skated on an old ass pair of skates myself, this can cause major problems.
Kovalev's got a tire change= good news, but how does this happen? I mean, this is the NHL play-offs, don't the trainers keep an eye on these important things. Like skates! They should check to make sure the skates fit him, and while they are at it, maybe take a look and see if his helmet might be a size too big. It has been coming off a little too easily.
